Best episode so far. I genuinely can’t understand how people hate this show. Do people hate the dialogue so much? I guess it's kinda chuuni, but that just makes it more entertaining and it's not like it's wrong, and I'd say is way better than the commentary in the game. It also has by the most interesting directing I’ve seen in a while. I’ve seen a bunch of people praise the last episode of Kamiina Botan like it's the best episode ever, but not only is this way more ambitious than that (it's not just mindlessly copying Oishi, for one) it also feels way less tacky and more natural. Other than the head tilt transition in ep 2, the direction flows really well.

If you read Crime and Punishment in a translated version you didn't really read it. This is generally true for all novels in foreign languages and why I try to read the originals whenever I can, but it's particularly bad with Russian because it's similarly different from English as Japanese is, so it's hard to get nuance across in a translation.
