The Bible has certainly been preserved as you say, but it's a dense and highly interpretable text in many of its points, and downright contradictory at times (you could genuinely point to some of Paul's own statements as having no basis in Jesus's words and being far more a reinterpretation of his pre-existing beliefs under a protChristian lens).That's not counting the plethora of folklore and belief accumulated over the centuries that came to be more or less accepted by the Church and shaped people's ideas of religion. One could also make the argument that the Church only preserved what it cared to and destroyed what it did not wish to, but that's another matter honestly. Point being that your own interpretation of the Bible is volatile and born of the times, and frankly less complete than that of proper theologians both past and contemporary, so it's a little silly to claim it as truth.
