>>23635293well if u don't mind the ads then you do you.however if your main reason for putting up with them is because of the age detection thing I think its pretty easy to avoid the AI thinking you are a minor just by not watching stuff meant for kids or making childish comments and it probably works separately from the system used for targeted ads anyway.

>>23634857>>23635271Way back in the heyday of AOL Instant Messenger and Windows 98 most people would have a handle like [MyNicknameAndBirthYear] and use it everywhere, and then link it to their email which was usually SomePartOfMyRealName@MyLocalISP.comMy mom's was her dog's name and her birth year, and she used the same password for almost everything.
Are they rolling out forced email verification to everyone without pre-existing trusted cookies? I tried it on another browser, first with mobile data and then with my home IP which works fine (when I have a cookie, that is), and both times it gave me the "your IP range has been blocked blah blah verify" message. The only thing I envy of the ban evasion tools is the captcha solver that can get around the many different versions of 4chan's homemade captcha. The old solver available as an add-on and userscript rarely works anymore and struggles even with the easiest captchas, mistaking T for J, D for V, and O/0 for B/8 or 4.Since google's captcha and its "verification not needed for 3-5 minutes" gimmick (added to stay under the free 1M captchas-per-day tier 4chan was using) were removed and replaced with a mandatory captcha on almost every post I haven't dumped images with the same autistic frequency, and I'm confident in saying that many other users of the slow imagedump boards are in the same situation.
>>23636628p. much. storytiming culture is done for on /co/I don't miss the image captcha. I hated that shit. Typed catpcha doesn't bother me at. Weirds me out that so many people hate it
>>23636628It's sad to see people like you complain about it, like is typing out 5-8 letters really that difficult?
>>23636761>>23636784I mean, I get that it probably sucks for the dyslexic, but I much prefer our local captcha to Google's weird shit that helps train AI image recognition systems.
>>23636761I am indifferent towards the image captchas. Sometimes google would sperg out over my browser settings and torture me with tons of slowly fading and "select all X" captchas, and sometimes the captchas would be so simple that I could solve them in one second with 4chanX's option to use the numpad to select the squares.>>23636784It's less about its difficulty and more about having to be always present during an imagedump. When 4chans was still using recaptcha I could set up a dump list with 4chanX and take advantage of the minutes where the solved captcha was valid to automatically make 3-4 new posts while I was reading another thread. But since that captcha was replaced with hcaptcha and later with 4chan's captcha, I need to solve a captcha with every post, slowing my pace and wasting minutes that I could use in another thread. If you have never dumped over 10 images you won't understand how tedious it becomes to solve dozens of captchas in a row.
>>23636784This year I've seen a lot of people just be vitriolic about 4chan. Total resentment, just wishing it would drop dead despite using it all day.I don't get it. I've been using this site for... 16 years? 17? I literally can't remember when I first opened /b/ any longer. Shit I've talked mad shit about specific mods at times and got moot to personally call me a cunt way back in /q/. But that was over real things and site wide autismo fests ie the first symptons of the culture war.Today I see people repeating "the site sucks" with no apparent reason. You see it here, you see it on spinoffs and altchans. Whenever I push them it either becomes "there's people liking things I don't like and blame the mods for it" or shitting on things are that basic ass imageboard mechanics or features that have been around before they ever found the site (captcha's 14 years old ffs). Basic shit that makes me think "this guy just doesn't like anonymous forums"But they swear up and down that they do. I don't wanna sound like a cunt but if that's not it, I cannot find any other explanation that's doesn't involve personal attacks i.e. projecting self hate on strangers. It just don't make sense to me. I've actually seen the meme factory die and be replaced with generals and twitter screencaps but I don't have even a fraction of the resentment these people have in them. How come I've been around for so long yet remain unbothered?>>23636867>I am indifferent towards the image captchasI absolutely fucking HATED the 2 seconds fade-in they had. Solving an image gcaptcha was 90% just waiting for the new images to load. Fuck that shit.
i don't understand how people get filtered by the captcha. i assume it's some low trust IP thing going on and they get ones that are somehow much harder than mine.>>23636901i like imageboards but i think this place should be put out of its misery or given to someone who actually likes it. i don't hate it badly enough to dox the mods or schizophrenically post CP all over it to get it taken down or some shit.

>>23637066it's sad, i assume it's just because most of them just use readcomicsonline but the social aspect of storytimes are the best part. isn't that what everyone uses them for? maybe that's just me, whenever i read webcomics with comments sections i spend way too much time going through what people have to say.

>>23640044coombait image gets left up, but other politics threads get taken down:>>23639458......i do not understand moderation sometimes......
i swear the email verification thing is a psyop, i never got the prompt
>>23640330it used to happen on /biz/, but i just checked and it didn't happen for me.
>>23640098Imagine having to pay pedophiles to force yourself into a website that doesn't want you.
>>23640332that's unironically what it boils down to, doesn't it. financing a CP ring so you can post about how much you hate niggers and trannies on a video game board lmao
>>23640342Don't instigate a raid, leaf.
>>23640350I'd never!I am a law-abiding citizen.
>>23640340Not just that. They aren't even wanted in the threads and communities they post in. They are so socially retarded they have nowhere else to go so they gotta pony up.They could just pay a whore just to say "you're loved". It's the same placebo.
>>23640332Hey, don't bully the poor anons who had to buy a pass because mods rangebanned their city.
>>23640330>>23640331>He knows?>Now roll it back.
>>23640325...have you, though? 60% of the time it works every time.
>>23639273reminds me of this
>>23640367>>23640325Assuming they do violate the US law, anyway.Make sure they do.You're a lawyer, are you not?
you could also not use 4chan? i mean theres this altchan i frequent that i hope gets more traffic because of all this but its a pipe dream>>23640365truly i am the raped ape
>>23640356>nowhere else to go so they gotta pony up.giddy the fuck up
>>236403624chan pass =/= cuckerpass
>>23640362You are running on old memories senpai. permaranges haven't been a thing since the pandemic. There were very few of those iirc, one was venezuela and another in ASEAN iirc. All lifted by the late 10s, by the pandemic rangebans where applied on necessity to stop floods / raids. And pass bypass is obsolete now that email verification is a thing.
>>23640395
>>23640400i think people really overestimate how often rangebans are used or they think mods can very precisely do it. it's very probably a last resort so you don't hit innocent users.
>>23640405this would imply that pedojannies get payed for their work and we all know that no financial records were leaked when the chicken was jockeyed
>>23640406Well Venezuela was an infamous cause in the early 2010s. The country's main providers were rangebanned for something like 5 years.
>>23640413I would pay so much money (at least $35!) to have even a quick peek at their ban records and the real reasons listed, as well as their ban-on-sight poster profiles. The fact that these weren't leaked is at least as disappointing as getting hacked by one's own off-shoot is embarrassing.
>>23640431>getting hacked by one's own off-shoot is embarrassing.h4x0r was definitely alien to shartylike why would a shartynigger embed Miku + Night of Nights when they could've done something more soiish?
>>23640413when the government subpoenaed 4chan it showed at the very least ape had a salary.>>23640443i personally believe they were more /qa/ adjacent, probably more aligned with the weeb mafia
>>23640443You may be right. I honestly have no idea what sharty community is like, only visited them to get the dope, and even then had to sift through all the soijak and gem spam. Maybe they settled, money for not leaking anything else. Maybe they just didn't want to cause much grief.Either way, real ban reasons becoming public knowledge wouldn't have harmed anyone per se. Anyone who hasn't done anything wrong, that is, at least.
>>23640443>like why would a shartynigger embed Miku + Night of NightsBecause cutesy shit is sharty culture too, they are just embarassed to admit it.
>>23640503>cutesy shit is sharty culture tooeven if that was the case, why zero sharty memes? or hell even anything /qa/ related
>>23640516nigga he recreated /qa/i still think its someone who likes 4chan but also wanted to pin it on the sharty. if a real shartycuck had done this they would've just leaked the PII and shit.
>>23640516because nothing follows up doing something retarded better than valling it bait.
>>23640525>nigga he recreated /qa/actually yeah, that on top of making red texts on the boardi just thought maybe there'd be sharty or /qa/ memes attached. probably some /jp/-/qa/ type
>>23640463I think it was someone from /g/ or /trash/ circles, they actually mention not wanting to enable leto with what he leaked. >>23640516pretty sure mikuposting is a thing in the sharty. shit, isn't teto beloved by gen alpha? the song is something shartfags definitely listen to. their OC always has jittery upbeat music.
>>23640638hatsune miku is in fortnite
>>23640646>hatsune miku is in fortnitewhat an incredible world we live in
>>23640638shit, i remember seeing that post. he went out of his way to not leak the captcha code iirc (but still leaked too much of it by accident)the vulnerability was actually disclosed on /g/ way before it happened. somehow i wouldn't be shocked if that anon tried to be responsible and report it only to get ignored by rapeape.
>>23640400>>23640406>>23640429Some indian ISPs used to be rangebanned.
>>23640638>pretty sure mikuposting is a thing in the sharty.Isn't miku too tranime coded for the sharty? Or have things drastically changed post /qa/ lock down?
>>23640992they started pretending miku was always based to them after the hack
>>23640993The hacker could've put up a trans flag and the shart teens would call it based
>>23640992frogs and tranime are a sort of larp factions they play to troll each other. the whole nas / ias this is roleplay desu>>23641043def not.
>>23640992They end up genuinely enjoying things after shitposting with them "ironically". The same thing happened with stuff like Oozeling, Omori and blacked porn.
>>23641420arguably averi tooalthough it also leads to people who unironically complain about "tranime" on 4chan
>>23638842Yes.>>>/v/726447607LOL
>>23641447Frigid cold take but everybody that uses the word "tranime" in even the tiniest fragment of seriousness should be shot and it should've been word-filtered here the very moment it appeared
>>23641454This is a cool idea for a screencap, and executed well.
>>23641043fucking hell i wish he would've done that. expert level trolling.
>>23641835Kinda reminds me of that old Bleach gif with the shocked faces
>>23641454neato
