So is he excempting the tech tariffs to make them higher or lower? Why would he refund if its higher?
>>
Bulls expecting a huge rally Monday from the Trump news. Except it’s gonna only be for like 6 companies. Macro headwinds in place before tariffs are still here, only now foreign investors are super cagey about buying back into American assets.

Also all the hundreds of billions of cash waiting on the sidelines already YOLO’d in on Wednesday. Enjoy your last little 2% green close mumu.
Also there’s nowhere left to go policy-wise. The government has already enacted austerity measures with that DOGE shit.

My puts don’t expire till December, and I bought them on Wednesday after the Trump Pump n’ Dump retardation was in full swing. No margin for me! The only thing I’m worried about is how devalued the dollar will be by the time I’m ready to flip back to being bullish on the broader market, so my gains won’t really mean as much.

Four in five U.S. adults (79 percent) have English literacy skills sufficient to complete tasks that require comparing and contrasting information, paraphrasing, or making low-level inferences—literacy skills at level 2 or above in PIAAC (OECD 2013). In contrast, one in five U.S. adults (21 percent) has difficulty completing these tasks (figure 1). This translates into 43.0 million U.S. adults who possess low literacy skills: 26.5 million at level 1 and 8.4 million below level 1, while 8.2 million could not participate in PIAAC’s background survey either because of a language barrier or a cognitive or physical inability to be interviewed. These adults who were unable to participate are categorized as having low English literacy skills, as is done in international reports (OECD 2013), although no direct assessment of their skills is available.

Adults classified as below level 1 may be considered functionally illiterate in English: i.e., unable to successfully determine the meaning of sentences, read relatively short texts to locate a single piece of information, or complete simple forms (OECD 2013).

You can't win against the culmination of all the elites of all worlds races working together.
America has never lost a trade war.
Of course tariffs result in everyone losing but it doesn't less poorer countries catch up to america.

The only saving grace for America compared to Russia is the state system, crucially that elections are managed by states instead of the federal government. If federal Republican politicians fail to reel in insanity as they have been, your next hope are Democratic governors going scorched earth on the fed as the fed is beginning to go against them. If the fed withdraws enough funding and services from blue states in particular they will come to the conclusion there's no point in paying federal taxes.

>>
Import price inflation is getting thrown around a lot, but I think the sophistication that reporting misses the mark that broad based inflation (from devaluing currency) immediately affects price of goods and assets and bond yields. But inflation due to tariffs is purely on goods, with only knock-on minor benefits to certain sectors but unlikely or unable to really shore up domestic production and probably a drag on most assets and yields. Meanwhile, because it's not the kind of inflation that the fed can or really should be doing something about (it's not fear-based broad demand destruction, it's a real new economic equilibrium) I think we're going to see some moderate to high inflation expectations but fewer rate cuts than one would expect. Of course if it becomes systemic and a liquidity problem that's different.
>>
>>60260498
What doesn’t make sense is the all-or-nothing mindset in that post. If you’ve already built a solid foundation of long-term assets, there’s no reason you can’t use some of your liquid for riskier moves. Just don't mess with your core portfolio. You can
take both approaches at the same time. It’s just risk management, that's literally all it is.

If quantity of imports goes down as a result of tariffs, then the quantity of dollars 'trapped' in the US economy increases, which itself would also be inflationary (because our entire economy relies on dollars constantly leaving the US and going into foreign reserves so that we can afford to slowly print infinite money) on top of direct price inflation on tariffed goods. More like 25% and ATH was at peak hype when the economy was still roaring. We're still likely headed for a recession or at least a slow down.

I’m really debating going all in, ugggg.

ATH was also pre-deepseek though. Deepseek is going to cut into their profit margins because AI datacenters can do more with less. I'm still bullish on NVDA long term, but I also feel like it has more room to drop in the short term. There's also more competing opportunities right now because everything is cheaper.

i am then selling it :)

not if you DCA'd right at the bottom and it looks like it's gonna shoot up fast. If it just crabs, yeah, the decay sucks. but if you really think you nailed the low, holding isn't the worst. I've made bank holding for a few months when it jumped to 50+.

Perfect, I’m looking to buy 1.2m Monday. We will make the switch.

Yea, the data center growth is definitely the Achilles heel in all this. Especially if Europe goes for their biggest customers.
>>
anyone else find it funny with the tech exemptions now the tariffs won't bring any revenue in, probably less than 50 billion per year instead of the estimated 300-600 billion? It's like trump wasted everything and everyone's time while making them mad for nothing.
>>
>>60261478
Those estimates were optimistic in the first place. The tariffs depress demand, so you're looking at a larger slice of a smaller pie.

How does stock market even work?
A company invents imaginary "shares" of itself and then sells it to you? What does that even mean?

biggest pump and dump of the century incoming
>>
>>60261790
Fuck off tourist.
>>
>>60261790
im going to explain it really simple like
a company wants to expand and do more things to make more money
so they create a pool of shares of value, some smart? people decide the shares value based on many factors like future earnings and open it to others to buy.
when interest increases because they believe they will be more valuable in the future people buy shares (usually banks and stuff) and then retail investors come in (usually) after.
now the company has a pool of assets to draw from that it got from the stock to buy equipment and materials, and this also makes it easier to get loans since you have collateral. The company can also bribe its board members and people running the company exclusive shares, and bonuses, which keeps them on their best behavior.
You are now held to the stock holders whims somewhat though, so you are in a cycle of needing to beat expecations as much as possible to keep it going.
>>
>>60261823
Isn't selling ownership of the company for a one-time cash injection a massive imbalance? Why would any company ever do that unless they were facing bankruptcy?
Has a company ever managed to sell itself and then buy all the shares back? It must be very rare considering how many companies are listed for sale on the stock market.
Also every company is obsessed with increasing "shareholder value" by increasing the stock price, but this literally means it's even more difficult to ever regain ownership of itself.
When a company does this aren't they basically becoming a mini-bank, giving out a bunch of I.O.Us in exchange for cash? What if everyone all came at the same time and wanted to exchange all the shares for the cash? Do they even have it?
>>
>>60261849
the thing is they are selling an idea, so it isn't really bankruptcy, but an idea given physical value that will result in money for everyone that wants to invest.
A negative look at it would say yes "i don't have enough money to expand, give me money and ill pay you a percentage back eventually"
>>
>>60261861
"i have this project i want to do but i don't have enough money, so i'll sell shares and lose autonomy forever" just seems like an insanely bad deal.
>>
Apple is breaking out of a corrective base with bullish momentum and a macro catalyst (tariff exemption). Price is reclaiming key anchored VWAP and volume pockets, potentially launching into Wave 3. It was going to happen anyway. Now it's rock hard and ready to shoot a glob to 220+. Gonna do a swing here. Hate that I missed Friday insider action.
>>
>>60261878
that is the exact reason why you see companies like Steam (games) who remain a closed company. Most companies decide if they want to expand beyond their city, to the states, and further, each stage needs huge capital.
>>
>>60261887
yeah i guess i'm probably underestimating how hyper-competitive the business world is and i guess the sell-out moment has to come for almost everyone eventually
>>
it just seems like a permanent solution to a temporary problem i'm trying to say

Kek, because all their international trade is done through the USD, while the Fed can inflate the debt away or do what Trump does and crash the economy to refinance treasury debt at lower interest rates.
