Basically Japan has been using China tier currency control for decades to try and keep the debt low. By forcing their massive corporations to buy the debt cheap and keep it low. But even all their banks can't force the rates to be lower. Ironically they got their long term inflation they wanted

BUT they still have a population that was so used to stagnation for decades that no one wants to have kids and expand. They need strong family focused reform

I wonder how true that is. I keep hearing about how Nintendoomed they were and how they're going to be 3rd party during the Wii U era... And yet they're still alive and breaking records today.

Meanwhile, during the same Wii U era, I keep hearing about how Sony's finances are dogshit worse than Nintendo and will go bankrupt soon any time now... And yet they're still alive and breaking records today.

I think it’s the opposite. Their subscriptions are too cheap. I’ve seen people boast about it being used at nearly all Fortune 500 companies, but it really hasn’t spread to smaller businesses. It’s a catch-22. Either they charge an appropriate price and alienate smaller companies to generate more earnings or they rely on word of mouth while keeping their current enticing pricing. They really needed blowout earnings.

I winder why such policies are not popular with people born after 1980, especially those who have seen their teens and 20s pass them by unhappily for the most part due to being unable to afford things that used to be considered normal for youths while boomers insult them for being poor from their hummer trucks.

> it will never feel like enough that I can just blow it on frivolous things.
This statement. If you’re worried that you can’t control your spending, you can limit it with a legal arrangement.
1. The fees won’t eat into it because I’m not suggesting a mutual fund or a managed account. You would still control your account and trade like normal.
2. The legal arrangement would be with a CPA. You would likely have to make a contract which outlines the goals and limitations both parties have and the amount paid to the CPA for the work they conduct.

>>60892951
The other guy seems like he’s just living off of trading. I wouldn’t suggest this to anyone trading using other assets or means as collateral.

I think you misinterpreted my statement. I'm not worried about blowing it on frivolous things, because I never would. That's why I'm a miserable piece of shit. I have a bunch of money saved up, but I refuse to spend it on anything that could be potentially fun or enjoyable. One example: my laptop is like 9 years old and held together by literal duct tape. I can't put it to sleep or turn it off normally, or it crashes. The screen has a big crack in it. Half the keys only work if I pound on them (I have a $5 USB keyboard attached right now). I should invest in a new laptop. But I won't, because I might need that money for something else.

>>60893123
It's a leveraged ETF. It decays faster during downturns than it recovers during upswings. Do you understand that 1.0*0.9*1.1 = 0.99 and not 1.0?
I swear to fucking god none of you people should be allowed to buy anything but VOO.

>>60893134
How do you know you're not buying the top today? How do you know you're not buying the top next month? How do you know you're not buying the top next year?
How do you know the next downturn will be short enough that you'll recover in a reasonable timeframe?
It started trading in June of 2006 and its closing price that month was 2.26. After the 2008 crash, it didn't go back above 2.26 until October 2010. Meanwhile QQQ went above its 6/06 closing price in July 2009. QLD will always recover later and you will miss out on gains in the mean time.
>>
>>60893208
Have you not heard of DCA? You can back test this. It's really easy. And if you just want to lump sum then lump sum TQQQ after a crash and you will 400% your money
>>
>>60893208
I did it for you. December 10, 2021. Your date of choice. $5000 starting and 200 weekly.

Why cant I just chill after a big win. I made about what I make in a month doing probably 2-3hrs of work. It's like my life now is always in a trade.

>>
>>60893297
Okay so I understand the principle here is that you're increasing your position at a lower amount so it will grow faster on the way up. I think over an infinite time horizon it will, in fact, do better than QQQ.
What I don't understand is why you'd commit to tying up so much capital in a leveraged fund that's shrinking much faster than the market, when you could pull that out and put it in the market for a slower rate of loss, or into bonds or gold or just leave it in cash, and buy back once things start turning around. The purpose of leveraged funds, after all, is to follow a trend. You very much DON'T want to follow that trend down.

Is this actually true? I mean in picrel, did he say it like that during Jackson Hole? They'll abandon inflation for employment on which they have even less impact?

From their monetary policy report:

>The Committee is prepared to use its full range of tools to achieve its maximum employment and price stability goals.

>The maximum level of employment is a broad-based and inclusive goal that is not directly measurable and changes over time owing largely to nonmonetary factors that affect the structure and dynamics of the labor market.

>The inflation rate over the longer run is primarily determined by monetary policy, and hence the Committee has the ability to specify a longer-run goal for inflation.

They themselves know it.
