You have to realize that fiat currencies though out history, you know this, have failed and died and nothing is as printed and created as the dollar, in hidden strange ways, and now they are making a enemy out of half (or more) the world.
silver at some point will, at least in theory, be worth more then all dollars in existance at some point.

You might think me too optimistic but I have seen my own portfolio of digits on a screen take less than 1K to over 30K. What do you think something with far more tangible value and utility will do when the time comes?
>AI data centers increasing
>PMs for all that lovely technology
>uranium to power the plants for them
>more digital hype to pull people into the system
I have my PMs and I have my diversification so I... get this... can convert them to more PMs before the music stops! Just kidding. PMs are just another step on the way to being able to help people in a practical way when harder times come.
Who knows, maybe I won't be the one to do it and it will be my descendants. But I get to enjoy much down the line by setting up for them now, you see? Of course I say this knowing not everyone has the circumstances to spend time researching financial matters that I do. All the more reason to help others down the line.

If I take a wild guess. If we avoid a war. Looking at ratios. How capital might rotate from bubbles. How much debt that’s out there that has to “soaked” back into gold as a positive value.

300 silver. 15000 gold in two years. But it’s very hard. Everything including cycles seem to be compressing or accelerating. If a big war gets out of control. Who knows. Then capital can be destroyed.

What about the "idea" (I have not looked into the data if its exists, but it seems like a resonable assumption that silver is discarded and not really recycled as its to cheap to do it, that there is more or less the same amount of god and silver metal +/- 3x (i dont know exactly)

Should make for a extremely explosive "price"/vs assets etc.

My local coin shop is so swamped right now
I walked in and i'm a good regular customer, first name basis, sometime get great deals, and the owners of the shop are pretty much overloaded with sell and buy orders.

They were generous enough to sell me 25 ounces silver, but they couldn't do my 100 ounce request.

its unironically fucking happening bros
according to the owners / employees;
the knowers are buying (younger silver/gold stackers)
the boomers are selling(near retirement or retired, or fools)
and soon the normies will start panic buying (staring to happen)

get ready, its not only me, its also happening to my friends in other states / canada (contacts on trannycord) for their shops

>Silver’s futures curve just did something we haven’t seen in over forty years: it flipped into deep backwardation. The front-month contract is trading about $2.88 higher than the later ones, marking the steepest inversion since 1980. That might sound like a small technical detail, but it’s far more important than it appears. In the world of commodities, backwardation of this size doesn’t happen by accident. It’s the market’s way of saying something major has changed beneath the surface.

Asahi rounds are boring but that's a good thing. Unlike all the retarded "Johnny Prospector and Billy Buckshot's Guns n Jesus Pirate Booty Harley Silver Mint - Made in AMERICA (in my basement)" companies, Asahi is an LBMA and COMEX good delivery refiner. Their silver is recognized as quality bullion around the world. Don't think of them as wannabe coins, think of them as circular 1oz bars for people whose aesthetic doesn't involve putting flaming skulls and cringy dragons on everything in their mobile home.
>>
>That setup, however, is beginning to break down. When backwardation becomes this extreme, it’s the market’s way of saying: physical demand has taken control. Real buyers and industrial users are now setting the tone, not leveraged traders. Each dollar of backwardation marks a shift in power away from paper markets and back toward the physical market, where actual supply and demand determine value.
its so over...

You are the dumb crypto bros to me. Not only missing a pm that's outperforming gold and silver but you're missing easy ratio trades between the three.
You invest your twenty goybucks extra a week and I'll keep trading out of whichever metal has swing 30 points against another these past few months and growing my stack.
Silver gains on gold by another 5 points I get to rocket 5 free ozs of silver regardless of what the price is.
>>61106368
Smart anon. I'm with you. Between the west getting locked out of the two biggest pm producing countries, the insane alloys, the fact that price has increased despite auto dand decreasing and that boomers need it to live? Platinum is a no brainer once you've grown out of the stacklet phase.

I'm 100% sure that platinum will go up and go up a lot. But do I stack it physically? No, because it's not a monetary metal. It's like bitcoin in the sense that it's a known store of value, but not a time-tested one. They're both very young assets whereas gold and silver have stood the test of time and come out on top through the collapse of thousands of currencies. I hold the gold and silver because they have a proven track record thousands of years long.
>>

People say silver is silver, but LBMA/COMEX approved refiner silver is LBMA/COMEX approved refiner silver. I personally don't stack rounds, only coins and bars. But, if you're stacking rounds for the metal only and the prices are basically the same, then why not go with internationally recognized refiners? Yeah, it's the Honda of rounds - what's the resale value of a Honda vs a Chevy Cobalt? If the basic bitch Honda and the basic bitch Chevy are the same price, obviously it's smarter to go with the Honda.

Platinum is used in jewelry, it's safe to touch, it's harder than silver so it doesn't scratch easy. Looks like dark silver with the settings tweaked slightly to purple in sodium light. Looks dark grey in natural light.
>>
>>61106841
If you're still arguing the semantics of whose stamp is on the metal, things aren't bad enough yet.
>>
>>61106884
The inner workings is you used to pay someone with a safe to store your gold and you got a paper receipt for that gold. People just started trading the paper instead of getting their gold out - trading fornit and the new guy just put the gold right back in the safe.

A certain type of people figured out they could just print up a receipt for gold that didnt exist and it traded just like gold.

Works great until everyone gets their gold out at once.

Same to you. Only switch flip event I can think of is ww3, but even without that it's been beating or even with gold and silver all year.
I like having a third option besides fiat to sink money into besides gold and silver if one tops out but the ratio isn't where I want it to be to swap into it.
Picrel is yesterday opening chart. While everyone was watching silver and gold platinum smoked both with a $27 jump in the first minute and held a commanding lead on the two all day.
Gold is great to park money, silver should be your heaviest right now but everyone is sleeping on at while it keeps up with the two that have media hype.

It's literally the only oy other metal besides gold and silver that has been monetized. I'm not saying you should buy it if you don't like it, but trying to associate it with BTC on /pmg/ is like trying to associate it with Fiat.

Trying to keep your bad decisions from effecting other anons is frustrating. Literally no need to voice an opinion against platinums on pmg. If your not interested in them then why say anything at all if it's not to provide a counter argument. Your information on platinum may be valuable and we would all like to hear it. Your opinion is dog shit and serves no purpose but to shit I and mislead others.

You seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of how gold and silver have been forged by centuries of testing against other commodities to become the monetary standards they are. Gold is the ultimate backstop because it's the most difficult commodity to manipulate. There's just enough mining of it so it doesn't run out, or produce too much. Platinum is produced in what, South Africa and Russia? Too easy to manipulate the supply. That's why it can't be money on a wide scale use.

Copper has a longer and more robust monetary history than platinum and yet everyone can agree that it is an industrial metal instead of a precious metal. Just because a single country made platinum coins once doesn't negate the metal's high stock to flow ratio or the fact that it's demand comes almost entirely from industry. Both Copper and Platinum crash in price during recessions due to industrial demand collapsing while Silver and Gold moon. Platinum is not a precious metal and should only be treated like one if you want to lose money.

Don't disagree, also never here anyone trying to stop discussion about coer on here, or bout nickles for that matter beyond the weight. Talk about stacking copper? No problem. Discuss platinums, everyone loses their mind.
You want to classify it as solely an industrial, fine, don't care. Give it the same respect it deserve here as you do others.
>Both Copper and Platinum crash in price during recessions due to industrial demand collapsing while Silver and Gold moon
Just... No. Collapsing industrial demand has had no effect on platinum price. In fact it's only been increasing since demand fell with lowered auto production.
>Platinum is not a precious metal and should only be treated like one if you want to lose money.
A lot more money has been lost on silver in the last 20 years than platinum.

You're "supposed" to self report and claim any profit from selling metals. However theres no way for the irs to know how much you purchased for or when and where you did. If you sell and take cash for $10,000 the business will have to fill out a form to send to the irs. So just do less than that, or do a check instead.

I don't care about the value of platinum priced in paper and digital receipts. I care about having a form of insurance that is time-tested, liquid and recognizable. I don't even like that silver has industrial applications. It should be money and nothing else.

I don't disagree with that and would say you need your silver and you're gold first, but if you're pushing 20+ lbs of silver and already have a few oz of gold, you should look at platinum.
>>
Is there any benefit to owning physical silver/gold compared to just buying into gold companies and etfs?
I guess the coins can be cool, I'd never purchase a bar however. Sounds tedious to sell
>>
>>61107249
You have it backwards. Selling in cash is reported due to money laundering laws. Same reason why you must declare over $10k if flying internationally
>>
>>61107301
An ETF is supposed to physically back up their fund. If there's a shortage and they can't buy the commodity to back it up, they declare a force majeure and pay everyone out or just collapse the fund and then physical is the only thing worth having. Maybe your mining stocks too.

That I understand, your still stacking for the collapse. Platinum is useless in an Apocalypse scenario. No doubt. I was there.
That's not what I use it for.
1. It's a hedge against collapse. If tptb manage to keep things going and stay in power then plat outperforms both gold and silver hands down
2. It serves kinda like tether, allowing me to swap between metals without ever touching Fiat or generating an IRS form.

As a prepper stack it's practically useless, but the world doesn't always end. Even a silver and gold revaluation to eat up all the debt and derivatives doesn't end the world. I get why you don't stack it though.

>Talk about stacking copper?
All of the talk about copper here is people stacking pennies and nickels below spot or people picking up scrap for free. If people were trying to psy-op anons into buying high premium copper rounds I'd have the same objections.
>Collapsing industrial demand has had no effect on platinum price.
Take a look at the chart, anon. It crashed during the Great Depression, mooned shortly after the EPA started requiring Catalytic converters in the mid 70s, coninued to do well in the Bull Market of the 80s and 90s and crashed sharply during 2008. Every move it makes is positively correlated with the state of the economy, the opposite of Gold.
>A lot more money has been lost on silver in the last 20 years than platinum.
If I bought Silver in 2005 I'd have 5x'ed my money.
If I had bought Gold in 2005 I'd have 7x'ed my money.
If I had bought Platinum at the same time I'd have only doubled it.

Yes, cash sales under $10k have no issue.

The only time a check sale is required to be reported to the irs is if its a cashiers check over $10k. A business check, which most shops will give does not have to be reported. As for selling a single silver eagle to them and receiving any type of check. No its not required to be reported since its under $10k. A business may keep a record to the check transaction for their records, but it is not required to be reported.

Go back to when platinum was thrown back into the water to "finish becoming silver" and if I had held since then I infinity beat silver.
See, pointless argument.
>rises and falls with industry
Anon, can you explain why auto manufacturing (supposedly the biggest consumer) is down, recycling is at max and platinum is still climbing? Kinda seems like it may have decoupled from any industry we are aware of.
Now is platinum money? Of course not. Silver is money.
Is platinum a store of value? Of course not. Gold is a store of value.
Is platinum a precious metals that is easy to obtain, extremely liquid with a high upside due to geopolitical climate and tech innovations? Absofuckinglutely.
Has platinum outperformed or kept pace with silver in this run? Absolutely. It's ratio against gold has gained pretty much right on par with silver.
Even on this huge news and fuckery with comex platinum smoked silver on opening Day of the week.
So again, I can not figure.put one reason why anyone would actively discourage anons from getting platinum.
And yes, attempting to form a consensus by simply saying, "I'm not buying" is active discouragement. We literally invented that meme on /pol/.

You want it to be volatile anon. That's where the profit is and a huge art of its value to a proper stack.
We are entering into volatility none of us have seen before. Sure dump your Fiat when you can but here's the thing. That Fiat buys less and less silver.
So what about the PM's you already own? Just sit and let them get dusty while you wait?
Or use the volatility to increase your stack?
I'm literally up 20toz of silver free because of a swap I made a few months ago and as the volatility increase it goes higher.
Let me ask? What are you going to do when GSR is 20/1m most likely swap silver to gold and most likely you'll always have a small silver hold stack just in case silver flips gold. Great! That's everyone's plan.
But what about the money sitting in gold? It's just sitting there not increasing in value which is awesome. But what about the extra? Going to put it back into silver and risk a sharp correction for GSR? Gonna let it set in gold and do nothing?
See, you are missing a critical third party.
That's platinum. It balances the stack.
Also it's still mooning just as hard as silver with absolutely no public interest. Not even from most stackers.
Who do you think is buy right now? You really think industrial use of catalytic converters is up with everything going on?
Big money is positioning ahead of everyone else. That's my guess.

Re: the big platinum argument everyone is having:

I saved this from a previous /pmg/ thread because it sounded smart:
>Yes, most lcs will swap it same as gold or silver. My pays me spot and I eat premium on what I'm swapping in to but it gives me a place to go if I want to move out of either gold or silver but not completely into one the other.
>Say silver hits a top and I want to pull out some value and move to gold, but I don't want to leave a bunch in silver since I know it's going to retrace.
>So I put my value in gold regardless of GSR, and move my invest into platinum and so long as platinum is below 1.4/1 ratio I can keep my money in play without dealing with Fiat or taxes.

>Last part is important. We're I am asset swapping for equal value isn't a taxable event regardless of amount so I can swap 10oz of platinum into 1500 oz of silver and never trigger an event to the IRS.
I think incorporating a little platinum into your gold and silver acquisition strategy seems like a good idea. Not stacking it as money, not saving it as a hedge against inflation, but using it as a tangible vehicle to acquire more gold and silver by playing the ratios. I don't know if now is a good or bad time to implement a platinum strategy for gold or silver, however. I don't currently own any platinum. But, I've frequently sold physical copper when prices have been high to purchase gold and silver, and have done well doing this. It's much easier and cheaper to store and transport platinum. So, just as a valuable commodity platinum *could* be a great way to stack more gold and silver than you otherwise would by just buying gold and silver with fiat. But again, I'm not sure if doing that right now is a smart idea or a dumb one or neither.
>>

Incredibly chutzpahtic mindset. I hate fuckers who take obvious market anomalies as their basis over argumentating.
If you combine both the 80 & 2011 peaks it lasted like 3 weeks above $45 total.
Literally nobody boughted at these prices. Meanwhile silver below $5 was the norm until 2005. So you had basically 49.99/50 years of permanents opportunities to slurp at below $5/oz between 1955-2005.
But you got less than a week opportunity to buy the top.
And you choose to ignore the 50 years of regular market behavior and only focus on this 1 week of February 1980.

And my rambling isn't targeted at you anon, i know you denounced this cherry picking, and honestly it's mostly bullish tards who uses this top-cherry picking nonsense to push whatever TA projections they dream about.

Plat have insane fundamentals, problem is it's impossible to source if you don't live in the US. As a frog if i want to get some i'll have to go to Germany, pay 40-50% premium THEN added 20% VAT. Before i can break even the price must do a +60% (tho i might be able to recoup some of the premium since it's impossible to find any).
And zero liquidity in Europe also is a big concern when comes the day to sell.

Oh I'm sorry, did my 6 humorous posts celebrating my platinum holdings outperforming all other metals put a damper on the 700+ celebration oats about silver crossing $50?

Get fucked joy vampire. I don't think anyone that saw their silver break ath was too upset with me posting about market openings like it's a horse race.
My plat is still smoking your holdings and I screen capped your post. I hope you're still.lurkonf here in January. Let's meet up and see where we are compared to today.

I bet a grand total of 0 (zero) stackers here would want one even if they could afford it. Why would you purchase a cuckmobile when you can have a big pile of shiny rocks? That sounds like pure nonsense to me.

>>61107821
I remember during the coof that if silver hits 50 then bad shit would happen. And some gave reasons besides the usual societal collapse and economic crash. We're talking multi country conflicts and trade restrictions.

Is anyone else getting their backup plans and brass ready? Is now the time to have the talk with the old folks?

I saw that gold for the first time jumped up over +100$/day on 2025.10.13. So the deceased leader of "hardgeld.com" Walther K. Eichelburg one wrote about such happenings that if such happens the crash/crisis willbe there. People will comb thrash piles searching for gold pices from electronic waste and similar. So just saying, get all prepared as good as everybody can, good luck. PicRel golden disc from Nazca/Peru underground citadel, reptiloides/Insectoides hideout. There where at leas 13 such discs and much other stuff. https://web.archive.org/web/20200407204459/https://ciudadela-subterranea-de-nazca-momias.webnode.pe/oro-y-reliquias/

I'm drinking and fondling. Thinking about putting an ebay auction out on one of my apus. My gut says this is a bad time to do this. I probably waited too long to unload. But at the same, time I'm feeling devilish, want to spread apus and get capital to pay off debt or play /cmmg/ game. I have multiple meme digit apus, but am more hesitant about putting those up. Thoughts?

>My gut says this is a bad time to do this. I probably waited too long to unload.
Indeed, you are either too late or too early if you want to unload memecoins. Too late for the initial hype, but too early for the true collector status to settle in.
Few decades from now those will be worth a fucking fortune as it was integral part of 4chin history. But rn it's this weird spot where most anons never heard about them yet, too soon for nostalgia money to delve in, AND all while ppl are solely focusing on weight stacking as spot is mooning like never before.

Like you couldn't think of a worst timing. But nothing prevent you to put one for sale at a high price and sit on it for years, it's not like your silver will rotten away. =)

For their next trick the golden digital age will commence
Precious metals will be tossed about by the markets to create the illusion of insignificance
With so many shaken out of physical only the fortunate few will have the pleasure of gathering up those undervalued deals
Then a crisis will kick off to funnel the people into a far more controlled digital state and (You) will be able to stand among the ranks of those who are good -and- capable

I get that but what the fuck does that have to do with QE?
QE is when the Fed issues more dollars into the system by loaning them to banks interest-free to keep them in business.
The title of this video should be how the Gov't is going to revalue their Gold reserves to today's prices to raise more money.
Besides, $1 Trillion still isn't enough to pay off the national debt, so why bother?

I think [our] meme coins will command less of a premium at triple digits. If /pmg/ memes somehow break containment, our only market to offload is crypto autists who want exit/in on the legacy. Long term, these will be the most valuable coins ever and will be collected by museums. Short-mid term, finding the right buyer may present more of a challenge.
