Reminder, shill are currently working on normalizing mining stocks, 90% junk silver, and the idea of swapping silver for gold.

Beware of boomers that are heavy on junk trying to convince new stackers to join their junk cult.
I have less than 5% of my stack as junk and mostly just to have some of each coin for my collection.

I know the dimes are nice as fractional silver, but there are divisible rounds and bars that have low premiums too and are still .999 pure

They don't care if the bump limit is reached on those threads, they do care if there are multiple up that haven't reached bump limit though. The pirate fag changed the name of his thread to not be labeled strictly as /pmg/ which is probably why they kept it up.
>>
>>61526379
Correct, nothing is wrong with 90% but .999 is the preferred purity to stack. It removes all uncertainty that might arise once silver is in the 100s

90% is fine when you're looking for a deal, but expect for your buyer/trader to want a deal too when you go to sell.

I just see people blindly repeat the advice to stack junk silver because it's cheap. It's not really much cheaper when you think about it.

>>61526392
I have some. You need to get the ones that are divided on both sides.
I got some with the gold panner on one side and the dividing lines only on one side. I like it, but they do not split as easily as the ones that are divided on both sides.
And they were as cheap as a normal round when I got them.

You have to be careful not to miss payments though or they can yank the 0% APR.
Keep autopay on AND pay your minimums manually, well in advance. Never actually use a card to borrow at interest.

And someone would be fool not to try to get a good deal off of you when you go to sell. See how that works?
You never stopped to think WHY they're giving you such good deals for so long?

It's almost like every boomer has bucket fulls of it and can't wait to dump in the market. Have fun selling into that.

And that's not even considering that many 90% coins are worn down and weighs less.
Dealers will sell you junk silver per coin, but when you go to sell they will buy it by weight because they know all that wear adds up.

Silver is silver.
But some silver is old and has other metals mixed in it.

I'm with you. I have old mexican pesos and I think those are even less than 90, I think they might be 70%

Just want to make sure new stackers are fully aware before they dump too much money into the wrong types of silver.
I would warn them too if I saw people here shilling ultra high premium art silver.

Anyways I think we're going to $75 by the end of the year, but I wouldn't be surprised by a random mega spike down or up.
>>
>>61526505
Not everyone here (me included) thinks the world is going to end. There will be upheaval, sure, but things will stabilise eventually.

Do you really think that, if shit really hits the fan and complex society collapses, you can just roll up on a settlement of survivors, show them your coins and bars, and say "Here's something which won't keep you warm and won't fill your belly. I'll take all your fuel and food please"?

Here's my current hypothesis:
Buy silver with 0% APR card.
Dollar weakens / silver moons -> win
Economy skyrockets / silver crashes -> pay off loans on time with regular income. Hold silver long term

Can anyone foresee a scenario where the dollar crashes and somehow silver crashes?

>>
>>61526523
>Can anyone foresee a scenario where the dollar crashes and somehow silver crashes?
Absolutely, yes. Much of silver's price is predicated on the demand for industry. If the dollar goes to hell, so could industries of all types - including those that use silver. And no-one has money to buy the stuff for holding. And people sell it to buy goods (normie merchants are not likely to understand anything other than fiat). People sell their tableware, jewelry, coins...

Of course. I had 550oz bullion stacked before I bought any junk. But I love the junk too. Why wouldn’t I just find a local refiner to make bars at some point if I no longer want the junk. I think everyone that collects large amounts of junk probably already has a bunch of bullion and got into junk because they love it
>>
They don’t even give you spot for generic .999 rounds or bars so at the end of the day it really doesn’t matter what you stack as long as it has silver. You paid a premium for that .999 as well. You ain’t getting it back.

>>61526559
I agree. I think we have maybe until the end of this decade when you factor all of the dedollarizing and silver’s role in automation/AI/green energy considerably compressing the timeline, and all of the crypto shit sort of warming up larger financial institutions to look for other monetary paradigms/alternatives.

I’m not a shill for crypto, but everyone and their grandmother coming out with a treasury based (lol) stablecoin at least to me signals the fact that fintech companies are interested in taking a bite out of the banking credit pie that banks have monopolized for the better part of the past few hundred years or so. I don’t think it will work out for them but I think this will have the added side effect of introducing normies to concepts like using something other than the paper dollar as a way to send money to people or pay for goods and services.
>>

>>
>>61526536
The monetary system collapsing in 1971 and 2008 are a hell of a lot different than 2025. We just let the bank continue to raise the stakes while they found more and more ways to offload the cost onto the citizenry to bag-hold the debts.
They create trillions of mortgage loans only to package them up and sell them to the government (you). They saddle up students with debts. They import jeets who pay $5000+ for work Visas. They threaten you with bankruptcy unless you pay for overpriced health insurance. It's far worse than ever, and that's not hyperbole. A lot of us will find our entire live's toil was stolen by these zombie financial institutions and the big-reveal is many people will have nothing to show for it.

I primarily buy junk silver because I can regularly buy it under spot, (especially during times like now when dealers are shipping off .999% stuff off to refineries) and also because a sizable chunk of the stands at my local farmers market accept silver as payment (farmers intuitively understand commodities due to the nature of their work) so I like having the ability to pay for things in fractional chunks that everyone recognizes, with math I can easily do in my head, and that aren’t likely to be counterfeit, and relatively easy to verify by just looking at the mint year. It’s also legally money which can come in handy for personal transactions. I could easily see a scenario in the future where I buy a used car for (((“$50”))) and then I save on property taxes when I register the tags.

Also at some point in the near future silver will hit triple digits, and likely quadruple digits shortly thereafter and I want to be able to pay for something under $100 or $1000 without having to get rid of an entire bar or round.

I would prefer .999 silver but the utility and cost of junk silver is really a nobrainer for me. I also like the historical aspect of it too.

Fair enough, but I simply don’t believe we’re heading towards any sort of apocalyptic scenario. I think a lot of people will be poorer than they initially thought, and a lot of savings will get wiped out, but the upcoming crash will probably be worse than 2008, but I don’t think we’re heading into a Great Depression 2: electric boogaloo.

I myself am a sort of part time prepper and I’m planning on getting into homesteading, but in general I don’t agree with the idea that doomsday needs to occur for barter, or payment with alternative currencies/money to become practical, at least in my neck of the woods.

I can easily envision a scenario where the economy gets worse and we print more dollars without the end of the world happening and the federal reserve follows the Japanese model of banking where we steadily reduce the purchasing power of the dollar to 1/100th of where it stands today so they don’t bankrupt everyone over the age of 65.

What you're missing is that even on an exponential path it takes generations for a currency to collapse when the bank can print the currency that debts are owed in. Gold went from $35 to $800 in 10 years and now $4400 in the span of 55 years and society didn't collapse.

Weimar germany was different, they owed debts in hard cash, something they could not print and so they inflated the fuck out of their paper money to buy up all the gold they could get to repay debts. This is not that situtation.

I really believe gold will be $16000 per ounce by 2030 and $64000 per ounce by 2035 and we will still manage to get by just fine just like we did in the 70s.
>>
reposting bcuz id like anons to talk about this important history:

on the free silver movement the way they talk about silver coinage as being this inflationary mechanism that the gold standard defenders were against is hilarious from a modern lens where we have instead meaningless paper and code as infinitely inflationary currency.

from what i read there were real problems with regular people not being able to do business due to lack of currency. farmers not selling their surplus to cities etc. just not enough gold to go around for regular peoples day to day affairs. which is why the free silver movement was a populist movement against the elites gold standard only demands.

The elites apparently were afraid the influx of silver would drain away the gold and it did at one point happen but surely the silver supply had limits to how much it could grow? could no one see that back then?

what do you think anons how could they have prevented the growing supply of silver relative to gold from draining the gold reserves and have a stable bimetallic currency in the 1800s?

All these mines were positive on the razor thin price for $25-30. We are hitting levels of gravy that should not even be possible at $68 per ounce. Soon the mines won't be getting jewed by royalty companies (starving mines for capital allowing royalty companies to front the capital for the right to buy metal at a highly reduced price. Tantamount to highway robbery necessary given that metal has to be suppressed to sustain the dollar ponzi. Mining is not without its risks, but if it somehow pays off I'm happy.

That was a different issue relating to gold/silver ratio. You cannot have a hardcoded fixed GSR in a dual currency system. It violates fundamental economics.

There can be only one fixed monetary metal, the other needs to be able to float. America should have kept the silver dollar standard.

Unless you've just bought you're up a good deal on both metals. Call a coin shop, ask how much they will give you, and make the sell. It's that easy. Ranges from 40-60 companies as im constantly rebalancing. All the stocks in the GDX GDXJ SIL and SILJ for the most part are there baring some small cap explorers which have done very well. Cope harder.
Any real autist can see the cognitive dissonance junk hoarders are displaying just because I'm warning others not to go too heavy on junk silver.

It proves that deep down you are worried everyone else will agree and you will lose some purchasing power with your 90% silver.

This thread basically hit the 3 things warned about earlier:
-90% junk shilling
-mining stock shilling
-trade silver for gold shilling

The Rothschilds already had a huge control on gold by the 1800s. I will NEVER trade my .999 pure silver for your yellow gold.

hmmm how interesting that when the powers that be had the chance, they tried to kill silver and replace it with gold.
Almost like someone with a lot of power has a lot to gain from gold specifically...
*cough* jewsowntoomuchgold *cough*

I wonder if those same people still control a large percentage of the above ground gold and if they would try to trick the goyim into trading their silver for gold when silver reaches peak value. Makes you think.

It’s mooning for some unknown reason. It does have superior fundamentals than gold but it’s only real industrial use is in catalytic converters which are on their way out thanks to EVs and are 100% recycled anyway. >it’s only real industrial use is in catalytic converters
1. Automobile catalytic converters
2. Chemical industry catalysts (ie nitric acid)
3. Electrical/electronics (ie hard disk platters)
4. Fiberglass production
5. Petrochemical catalyst
6. Drugs and medical devices
7. Fuel cells
8. Laboratory equipment

The interesting thing about platinum's industrial uses is that they are nearly all price insensitive because the amounts used are tiny, like with hard disk platters.
