Retail wagie here. Over at my store, the HVAC boomer I like to talk to is considering on quitting and getting a better job. The douchebag district manager cut him off from getting bags of popcorn(which was used to attract customers to buy services through him that would also benefit our store location) and he got frustrated on how much slower his LEADs got.

You just know we are in a recession when a company that makes $150+ billion a year in revenue and just this store I work at alone makes $80+ million a year don't want to give a salesman $200 for measly bags of popcorn......even if those treats helped drive an extra $100+k in sales PER WEEK minimum. Fucking stupid man, maybe I should quit too but I can't, job markets are still terrible shit right now. Even construction jobs are hard to come by currently.

so why does everybody think this Venezuela stuff is bullish when the US seizing those oil sources could lead to China just retaliating in other ways (rare earths again)

Yes, I understand American companies have built stuff there, and they should get either their compensation or their oil. But it also sounds like the US just wants to keep it for them in total and beyond with no respect to that oil belonging to the territory of Venezuela.

If Venezuela wants to sell their oil to China it's their decision. If you force the opposite, there will likely be a response following.

>If Venezuela wants to sell their oil to China it's their decision
US/England elite are waging war against everyone to try to maintain the dying US empire. Direct attacks against Russia did not work and are not working, so they are going after the BRICS organization as a way to weaken then defeate Russia and China to stay on top. Its a constant attack against any country or group of countries that does not want to kneel to the empire. Iran, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Libya, Ukraine, Venezuela and many others had coups, attacks, or are used try to weaken the China, Russia, BRICS. US debt is growing fast, the value of the US dollar is dropping fast, immediate action is needed by those who want to keep the empire going. The US will tell you who you can and cannot do business with, its an empire for now. Things are still heating up as the US is now really working on central and south america to try to secure the western hemisphere. Invest accordingly.

White people have access to less than 20% of the world's silver.
You can't print silver and you can't quantitatively ease silver. You can't even force other countries to give you silver because missiles and torpedoes cost silver. You can't threaten nuclear states for it either.
China has 70% of it and they just banned exports. They're squeezing the US military.

Its somewhat deflationary. It gives the dollar new life (40% of worlds oil must be traded in dollarydoos) which means lower rates and it will lead to lower gas

I've seen analysts state that If oil production could be restored in Venezuela to pre 2007 levels than gas could conceivably fall below $1 for an extended period of time

PLUG was the hydrogen play that pumped and dumped during COVID. Chuck Schumer was basically a spokesman for the company back then and I assume he was one of the whales dumping on baggies at the top. Anons here have claimed hydrogen fuel as a technology is a meme but idk why they thought that exactly other than they thought it was dangerous and like driving around with a bomb under the hood. It's been a $2 stock for a while with a brief exit pump back to $4 for a little while last year but the company keeps diluting shareholders and appears to be running out of money. It might be worth a shot to see if it can get back to $3 or $4 but I wouldn't hold my breath and I wouldn't throw big money at it and I wouldn't be expecting even $10 for the stock. Too many baggies for such a shitty company.

>US seizes billions in oil that will be extracted in the following years
>more future US money = less risk of default on the bonds, i guess?
>more actual money = less need to print money so dollar should become stronger against other currencies
>however being in charge of a failing country is probably going to require some massive investments short term, that are supposedly mitigated by the vast amount of oil that the US will eventually get
to make the US economy thrive i think the smart move would be reducing the debt emission, rebuying lots of bonds and eventually lowering taxes thanks to the extra money after the comically large debt problem is fixed. but that is just my humble opinion and every single government in the planet is a debt addict, it will never happen

do you want a lost decade? because this is how you get a lost decade. full speed ahead, in expect no less than a trillion in QE this year.
>>
>>61590229
it's a bitter medicine, it's better long term but it hurts the economy short term. it's an option that could be on the table given the massive amounts of money this venezuelan oil will provide. it sounds better than a 2008 crash on steroids because of a default and a dollar that is worth nothing. but yeah, i really doubt it's going to happen, specially if the us government keeps doing stuff like big beautiful bill

the US bond default is not something that is going to happen tomorrow, there is still plenty of music in this party. and nobody knows when it may stop. the risk premium on long term bonds has risen quite a bit since the last FED meeting, but it's not the end of the world, at least not yet. i'd say you should feel free to invest in whatever underlying you like (stonks, gold etc), in the end pretty much every underlying is a casino (in quant nerd speak, in the long term a geometrical brownian process with short term mean reversion).
>>
>>61589807
How do you fail selling options?

Nigga just collect the premium and live your life.

The smartest shit to do is spend your some of your premium on a shorter dated all call if you are still bullish and harvest the call profit or take ownership if you feel left out

I sell calls in a bull market all the time

if you sold a call, that is now in the money (assuming you had enough shares of the underlying and you are not going naked) you are fine. congratulations, you just earned money!!! i know, there is a big red number next to the call, but even if your shares are called away (extremely unlikely for liquid underlyings like that dont pay dividends) you are still winning. if you hold until expiry, the combo of shares + short call will give you literally the max profit of the spread. you capped your gains by selling the call, but you still got more money than selling at spot price when you sold the call. Next time when this happens you have to choose one of the following:
>sell your stock and buy back the call -> you leave some extrinsic value from time decay and potential volatility contraction on the table but secure gains and avoid gamma risk. you free up your money faster for more potential gains on other trades that may profit you faster at the cost of not getting the full max profit
>hold everything until expiry, hopefully the option remains ITM and you consolidate the max profit of your combo
>buy back your call and sell another call with more days to expiration immediately that has a higher price than the call you bought back (rolling).
what you shouldnt do is realising the loss on your short call and keeping the stock, it hurts your cost basis and adds unnecessary risk on your investment. it can work out just fine but it's just a bad idea
Also, never sell OTM calls with strikes below your cost basis after adding the premium to it, in this scenario you will consolidate your losses if the short call goes ITM and there is no way out other than rolling for a long time and keeping your money hostage for longer, the risk may be huge compared to the extra money you could get to help with your cost basis if it expires otm.

STT (State Street Corporation)

The Verdict: This is a true, heavy-hitting household name in the financial world.

What they do: They are one of the world's largest "custodian banks." If you own an ETF (like SPY), there is a good chance State Street is the one actually holding the assets.

SHG (Shinhan Financial Group)

The Verdict: A massive company, but likely not what you meant by "household name."

I'm not even a big buyer in the stock market right now, but honestly I'm seriously using some of my assets to continually buy, sell for gains, and rinse and repeat until there's a decent rug pull.

It's funny how oil companies are up considering that flooding the market with more Venezuelan oil will only decrease the oil price...
>>
>>61591126
A huge amount of shadow crude has been taken off the market but the demand is still there for energy.

>Didn't the US just stole the largest oil reserves on Earth?

Venezuelan oil sector is a mess and even in a perfect scenario it's going to be months before legitimate tankers start sailing. Energy is going to go up.
>>
Robinhood or schwab? I like robinhoods ui but trading feels iffy on it sometimes, meanwhile schwab looks horrific and I can't immediately gamble on options with instant transfer.
>>
>>61591359
Or maybe they're positioning for the short term with the opinion that this will impact the supply of Venezuelan oil on the markets and lead to an increase in oil prices

>You will pay the subscription and you will be happy

Just get soulseek and budget some of the money you save to buy digital albums you love or see the artists live. Simple as.

On the share front there's nowhere left for Spotify to grow. The thirdies left either pirate or have their own native rivals and Spotify hasn't even broken the audiobook market. So they'll fleece the existing sub base until they break their own model.

buy mu at open? it keeps pumping

I have scheme to make infinite money:
>1)Go to UAE, get a CDs offering 6.5% returns (from various banks)
>2)Denominate it in Swiss Franc's
>3)Use the CD to get a Swiss SBLOCs with 1.2% interest.
>4)Use the loan to get another CD
>5)use that CD to get another swiss SBLOC, etc etc etc
>6)go to Kuwait, Jordan, Dubai, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia.
Basically lets say you start with $100K and do this 100 times. Conversion fees = $100,000, interest= $120,000. The CD's would earn 650,000 minus fees =
YOU'D MAKE $430,000 A YEAR (arab states have no capial gains taxes).
>inb4 but you'd owe $10,000,000.
So what.

This. I would rather know my entry then get sidelined or have the book buy at +10% due to low volume and have it drop to -2% at 10am
