I wish I could go back to October at the peak of the refineries being backed up, all the big sellers had Peace Dollars listed for below spot and would almost instantly accept any offer you threw at them. I bought like a whole roll of coins that way and there were still too many listings for me to be able to get them all.
>It sucks the day of getting sub 25x face mercury dimes is over
That's a shame, I remember when 20x was the target price and 25x was overpriced. I should've brought more then.
That being said, lowballing Boomers on Ebay (when I can find good listings) is substantially more fun than just buying bulk junk at a fixed rate.

Just to warn you, firesafes aren't typically high security.

They are better than nothing though. Some fireproof safes (most) use gypsum which can tarnish your silver bars/coins. We had some in a Sentry firesafe and found out.

Buying new quality safes is expensive. See if you can find a used one from the GSA sales. Often, the larger ones may sell for cheaper than the smaller ones, but YOU have to drive somewhere and get them, and may have to pay a technician to show you how to reset the combination, or even replace the lock for you.

Sometimes safe dealers will sometimes have used refurbished safes for sale at a discount. Given the price of silver today, it might be worth a couple of 10oz bars for a decent used safe.

To be more clear, because what I am talking about is very technical and wide spread. Skills and wit will benefit you more than any physical item.
>Water
The basis of all life, which you can drown in less than 2" of if knocked unconscious. If you don't have a well or owned source, look around. Pine? Cactus? Nearby lake, river or stream? Rain catching, also. Main thing is purification and filtration. Literature and youtube are your friends, don't die of dysentery. Fiber and electrolytes will help retain water.
>Food
Outside of hunting and stockpiling, learn to harvest. This is all area dependent and literature should be studied. Take care of your water availability when thinking of preparing food.
>Medicine
Pain killers and antibiotics being most vital. Most pre-industrial deaths were due to infections, never discount basic soap and hygiene. If you are unable to acquire and stock modern 'drugs', find literature on your area. You will be surprised what nature can provide. Take a first aid, cpr and primary triage class if you are able. Keep blood in and keep infection at bay. If you are to network anyone, network a Doctor!
>Security
Guns and gun food. Develop and practice skills for your chosen weapon. Try to pick something that fits your needs and local logistics. You will want spare parts, cleaning supplies and a way to carry ammo. Also, area denial is cheap and easy, again youtube. While I cannot suggest breaking laws, you should do what is in your best interest.
>Hard Assests
Trading, barter, currency or productive goods. Gold, Silver, Land and livestock. Remember, Health is the greatest of wealth. Take care of your body, your greatest asset.
>other
I would also highly recommend 'bushcraft' skills, just don't get swept up in the consumerist market. The necessities are cheap and available in almost every Western nation. Again, youtube. If you can't make a fire using basic local resources and a bic lighter, learn it now.
God speed, I will see you on the other side.

>Banks made out like bandits closing their shorts today at $78.
That's what I've been saying in various threads. This huge dump was to stoploss rape the paperstackers while closing out some of their outstanding shorts at a discount.

They did it on Monday as well, and made a profit of $300 million. Hopefully they flushed all the lettuce hands out of the market, leaving just the serious buyers.

None of the fundamentals have changed. Silver is undervalued, and because of that, an enormous amount of silver was misallocated for retarded shit like solar panels that are used to destabilize power grids, while providing zero usable energy during winter storms.

This price volatility isn't helping the miners either.

Generators, portable power stations and a little bit of solar to top it all off.
Here in the EU our power grid has been strained for ages, and media will shill a substantial blackout at the nearest opportunity. It's fragile for sure, looking at the happenings in Berlin due to some lefty group fucking up the supply infrastructure.

>Communication
A couple of Baofengs go a long way to keep in touch.
I'm personally balls deep into LoRa. Meshtastic is a meme right now, in urban areas the congestion is way too high. Still pretty neat if you live in a sweet spot area with a good enough mesh. Plus there's ATAK which is interesting.

>Data
Don't take things for granted, datahoard all that you think is free.
Having a library of music, ebooks, software would be great to have.

>Hardware
I got two Toughbooks, one's for spares and the other loaded up with select data such as offline Wikipedia. Having a home server or NAS for storing all your data and running services like Home Assistant is neat to have.

>Repair and Tools
I'm all stacked up on gear to repair and maintain my shit.
A basic multimeter, cheap two channel portable scope, middle-of-the-line soldering iron, good screwdrivers, 3D printer which isn't cloud-cucked and a few spools of filament you rotate combined with the skills to actually use those will always be valuable.

>how do we make sure the gigashorter loses everything next time.
The people doing the large scale shorting had institutional and regulatory backup. Just as they stopped shorting gold a couple of years ago, they are pretty much done shorting silver. I think this was their last gasp simply because once COMEX/LBMA become defunct, the next marketplace will have to build legitimacy first, before they start rugpulling people.

COMEX will die because they were fractional reserving silver, and they got caught. They could pull this bullshit because back when COMEX began, there were billions of ounces in the US Strategic Stockpile, so whenever things got a little tight, a hundred million ounces or so could be released into the market.

All those reserves are gone. There are only a couple hundred million ounces of available bars left. Theres maybe another billion ounces in unavailable bars held by ETFs that may have been leased out concurrently to 10 different entities. They can't sell them because it would expose their fraud.

Basic survival skills should be first and fore most. Once those are covered than luxurious can be thought about.
>generators
Require a fuel source and LOUD. Not against them, just keep that in mind.
>Comms
Need someone to talk to first. After that need batteries or a small solar panel. I would avoid large solar setups, they scream 'I have electricity and money'.
>Data
Would focus on more hard forms. Books, prints, maps, etc...
>Hardware
If you can power them, hardware to me means guns and ammo.
>Repair and tools
A necessity for the long term. House repairs, machine/firearm maintenance, construction, etc... Also a good source of income if coupled with a skill set.

I would personally separate myself as far from electricity as possible.

If shit ever gets remotely to hitting the fan I'm out of this urban hellhole.

I would get out of or far from the cities asap, if possible. 80%~ of the Western population resides in them. They are completely dependent on imports and most in them have no real life skills, experience or knowledge. To put it bluntly, when supplies run out, it will be a blood bath. Even further, most cities are easily cut off and open to siege. Highways, bridges and railways are all easily destroyed or blocked.

Yeah, I got a library of old books. For instance pic related, "Handbuch der chemischen Technolgie", Dr. Ferdinand Fischer, 1893.
The good thing about old books is that no-one wants them apart from antiquarians. Tech in those kind of books are accessible today, which makes them interesting to me.

Since nobody could respond, I found it myself. It turns out smaller coins lose more weight with wear. So dimes are the worst junk to stack if for pure weight. Dimes do serve their purpose for small denomination silver, so I do have some, but I will not be getting more.

I think franklins or kennedys are best, with kennedys being the best, but a lot of retailers commonly put 40% in their rolls and cause problems.

Most stores have 3 days worth of stock under normal conditions. Most warehouses that feed the stores have a little more than a weeks worth of inventory to restock stores.

When the lights go out, trucks will be stopped and looted before they can even reach the stores, unless they have a police or military escort with rules of engagement that allow shooting of attempted looters.

Within two weeks of the power going out, there will be cannibalism in American cities.

Not advice but it might be better to save and buy later, if not in stock. This drop and low close could have very well destroyed the entire silver market. Less than Indian pay for import & sales taxes on silver. That's why so many of Indians smuggle gold and silver up their assholes. Luckily those precious metals are oligodynamic, and even the most toxic environment on earth cannot harm them.

The crashed the paper market on Friday so they could get out before it moons. This is not an intangible shitcoin. This is a rare, essential element that is about to take off, and the banks that were short were already billions in the hole.

Had they NOT cleared their shorts, their liability would have put their solvency at stake, necessitating a politically embarrasing bailout by the Federal Reserve.

Miners will still boom. Friday was a great day to load up. Sadly, we thought of it just a few minutes before market close and didn't have time to transfer money to and from various accounts to buy any shares.

We MIGHT try and pick up some physical tomorrow though, but probably not because they had lineups out the door Friday, and when we went there a couple of weeks ago, they had no bars smaller than 100 oz. We have no interest in standing outside for an hour only to be told they don't have anything for us to buy.

This is it boys, we're about to blast off. This is your last chance for cheapies.

The crashed the physical market on Friday so they could get out before it moons. Physical is a shitcoin. This is a common, replaceable element that is about to crash, and the banks that were short already made trillions off you .

I agree. This is a 100% testable hypothesis. I think Cathy Wood is cute from a nerdy spergy pov, but she's already lost tons of her investor's money prior to the AI bubble, and she will lose most of the rest of their money when the AI bubble pops, just like when the Dot.com bubble pppped in 2001. It will take a decade or more for her investors who don't cash out to break even in real terms.

Cathy is the Jim Cramer of tech stocks.

If we see silver continue to drop and stay low through the end of next week and beyond, then I would be willing to reconsider my thesis that this was deliberate, orchestrated, coordinated slamming to clear the bullionbank shorts at a reduced loss.

The bullion banks still lost billions covering their shorts on Friday. Just not as many billions as they would have otherwise.

>Anon, the chinamen are the one's trying to pump the price
No. They are only maintaining a slight arbitrage that is growing over time to slurp silver from west to east.

They've gone to extreme lengths to try and AVOID juicing the western spot price, going so far as to cut deals directly with miners to buy dore bars and concentrate at a slight premium, which completely bypasses the COMEX, thus, not effecting the spot or future prices at all.

China has been quietly buying the dips when the bullion banks did their little slams. It's in China's interest to get as much silver for as little cash as possible. Just like the rest of us stackers.

>Silver and Gold would need to move orders of magnitudes higher to see any real demand destruction.
Yes, and no. Silver is essential, and relatively tiny fraction of the bill of materials overall for smartphones and computers. $300 silver ($10/gram) would add about $3.00 in cost to the bill of materials for an Iphone or a Samsung, so even $500/oz silver won't result in significant demand destruction for those applications.

On the other hand, $300 silver puts most solar panel manufacturers out of business, nearly doubling the wholesale cost of their products. There will still be niche high end solar panel makers for essential uses like satellites and remote offgrid telemetry applications, but retarded "green energy" solar will be a thing of the past. Green energy is going away anyhow because it's useless for their planned AI panopticon.

Western paper markets are killing themselves. China is just buying silver on the dips. Exactly what stackers like us are doing. If the COMEX/LBMA didn't suppress the silver prices for decades, they would be find. They are literally the authors of their own misfortune.

They were doing it for a higher purpose, namely protecting the more valuable franchise of the jewish controlled moneyprinters at the Federal Reserve.

Aluminum is used for most conductors by volume. By weight, aluminum is actually a better conductor than copper.

The issue with Al in house wiring are the interconnects. You need to have a copper stub wires properly bonded to the ends of the Al wires. It requires special tools/techniques, but it works, it is legal, it is code approved for remediation.

I don't know if the building codes currently allow aluminum wiring anymore, but I guarantee the codes will be changed to allow aluminum wiring when the price of copper exceeds a certain threshold.

>USSR aluminum wire, widely used from the 1950s onward due to copper shortages, was a staple in Soviet electrical, industrial, and residential infrastructure. Absolutely not. Fucking with home aluminum wiring without the proper tools/certifications will void the home insurance.

For new builds when copper gets too expensive, I guarantee aluminum wiring will make a comeback. It will definitely increase DIY reno costs, but depending on the size of the job, they can opt to pay more for copper wire, if it's a small enough job. They may rent out the tools for bonding copper/aluminum, and I don't know if it needs to be done by a certified tech.

I knew someone who had an old house with Al wiring that had been remediated.

Copper wire will always still be available, it will just be more expensive than today. Copper as a BOM for small electronics projects is insignificant, and most of them can be done with recycled wire. I have a supply of plenum rated CAT5 that I salvaged for use in electronics because it has teflon/FEP insulation. You can solder right up to the insulation without melting it.

Copper will still be used for electronics commercially. It's just the huge projects that use copper by the ton, such as home construction, and BATHROOM FIXTURES that use brass. Brass = copper + zinc. Bronze = copper + tin.

Those alloys will become much more expensive, as if they weren't already.
>>
>>61757432
>huge projects that use copper by the ton, such as home construction
They tend to use plastic piping wherever they can get away with it now, sometimes a bit of copper just for show where it's visible.
>>
>>61757391
>what about the way british people wire their homes? on a ring. save wire that way.
You can get away with that mainly thanks to superior British electricity standards, combining high current with high voltage, with overengineered switches, plugs, recepticles etc.

The main downside of British electrics is the plugs are life threatening if stepped on with bare feet. Same as with legos in the carpet.

Americans/Canadians with shitty 15 amp circuts need to home run every second outlet to an individual 15 amp breaker.

I cannot run my kettle and microwave at the same time. I am really jealous of British power. I just wouldn't put up with the rape gangs and forced disarmament to get it.

>>
>>61757477
I think some of the early stuff is coming up on 20 years service life and doing ok. But I agree it just doesn't seem right. As long as a soldered joint doesn't fatigue over heat cycles copper effectively lasts forever.

It's just everything being cut to a price and throwaway vs repairable. Good for GDP!
>>
>>61757477
>I wonder how long plastic lasts in comparison, surely not as long as they degrade.
The crpsslinked high density polyethylene pipe (PEX) is fine, easy to work with (shark bite fittings) no solder, the fittings can be easily removed and replaced without tools. Shark bite costs more but is great for DIY. Alternately you can buy the crimpers and the collars, but you need to cut off the pipe ends if you need to redo something.

I installed a tankless hot water system and had to run some new pipe due to the different location from the old hot water heater and used PEX with foam insulation on all the hot water pipes and shark bite fittings. It worked very well.

Solar panels actually do work in winter storms.
If you’re thinking about the Texas blackouts, those were actually because their nat gas pipes all froze because they weren’t built to handle subzero temps. The gas companies paid for a ton of FUD slander about it being solar panels when it was actually their frozen pipes that screwed everything up. Since then they have luckily prepared by upgrading their piping infrastructure to handle the cold. that’s why texas’s grid is working just fine in this cold weather even though it uses the same amount of solar as last time.

Also why would you bad mouth a silver product in a thread that’s trying to pump silver?
You want solar panels to be good so silver demand goes up.

Just need two for some dragon rectangles and
I'm not gonna spend 15 bucks on Amazog for 20 of them
just to throw out the rest.

Also need to order something to clean my coins with.
Probably going with gold-binder.com .

No "cooling issues" either

Actually Al only has 60% the conductivity.
>>
>>61757534
Don't have any, but it looks like a plumber's nightmare. I can get 85% purity so it's a reflux design with a tall initial column and a separate jacketed, water cooled condenser that angles downwards at about 30 degrees for the output.

It holds about 12 liters of mash.

YOU FUCKING FAGGOTS TOLD ME NOT TO SELL
NOW SILVER CRASHED
WHAT THE FUCK

>Actually Al only has 60% the conductivity.

And copper has 95% of silvers conductivity. You guys don't even understand the fundamentals. Use silver at $100/oz for 'conductivity' or just use a tiny bit more copper at $0.38/oz or if it's a heatsink then use aluminum at $0.09/oz.

>SILVER IS CRITICAL BECAUSE OF ANTIBACTERIA CONDUCTIVTY BATTERIES!!!

Fucking retards.

Bought the dip

look at this jew, trying to convince me to not pull and insulate my own 999 pure silver wire to hide in walls.
I'm on to you shlomoburg

No retard, silver is still selling for 130+ in china. Who the fuck is going to sell silver for 65-95 in the USA when its selling for 130+ in chink land?
The comex price is bullshit, use the Chinese price if you want to price it in fiat.
>>
>>61757818
Didnt the chibese halt trading? It was a perfect fucking storm
>>
>>61756181
I'd be over the moon. If I could spend that long buying as much silver as possible so you can't have it. That won't happen though unfortunately
>>
>>61757675
Dude... chill.
The COMEX is fucked. They're upside down on physical holdings and now everybody knows.
China is in the driver's seat now. It'll go back up.

>And copper has 95% of silvers conductivity.
Which is garbage for anything but wiring your house. Copper also melts 120C higher than silver. Copper is used on circuit boards on the planes, then silver is used to connect the components to the board because it melts lower than copper. Our electronics are so fucking small that the increased resistance of copper over silver makes a huge fucking difference. Also silver is used as the base on silicon wafers, ie the material that generates an EMF through the semi conductive material that magically rearranges electrons to make temporary wires known as transistors that allow your iphone and every single computer on the planet to work.

Silver is basically redstone in minecraft retard.

Eat my ass.

Very cool, anon. Are you gonna leave them as is or melt them into bars that you can play pirate with?

What nobody knows is that China, Russia, and the US have been reverse engineering recovered UAP technology. United States has the best models and Russia and China are meh but China figured out how their mining tech works and all of this is intended with the demand for silver

>under $300 till end of year
sorry anon. that is not likely to happen.
we could see more dips or "corrections" and general volatility on our way up. But $300 within 6 months is already written in stone.
the real thing we should be trying to strategize now, the thing to worry about, is how to avoid a capital gains tax obligation when it comes liquid time.

We have no gains or losses until we liquidate. but when and if we did liquidate, we better sort out how to manage or avoid capital gains tax obligations.

when silver is worth $300/oz. and 100 onzas of silver is worth $30,000., how will one choose to capture the profits?

Thats the big quesiton

The physics of transistors is pretty simple. Its manufacturing them that is the hard part. I know that they were invented the same year as the roswell crash, but I think that has more to do with WW2 and german engineers coming back to the United States than ayylmaos. They wouldn't have announced it publicly if it was alien tech.

>buy land and get hella tax breaks plus grants for doing environmental shit on it
There ya go, the rest can be traded
>>
So the consensus is the price slam was just so the banks could survive the weekend? Yea, that's not a long term solution. I'm sure as people are panic buying they're not going to be unhappy with a price slam.
>>
>>61757936
>capital gains tax
I hope my county doesn't drop the rule that frees you of capital gains if you hold for 2 year or more.

I'm betting on real estate and land if it were to come true. I should ask some of my family sometime, I have a few relatives who are IRS, customs agent, tax advisor and some more.
