The german price takes into account the FX rate to calculate the stock price and there are some extra fees you have to pay to trade it (just because of the exchange itself), so you should also check the commissions you paid. Depending on the broker and the amount of money you invested it might be cheaper to just buy it there or to swap to dollars and buy it in nasdaq. If you want to buy in 100 share multiples to sell calls or you want to sell cash secured puts, or if you plan to use options at all, i would strongly recommend swapping your money to dollars and trading from a US exchange, because the bid-ask spread is extremely tight compared to the EU exchanges and the FX bid-ask is negligible. If you buy the shares in IBKR from nasdaq for example, in principle your broker will automatically swap your money to dollars with a market order and buy the stock in 1 step at the current value, you can get more control of what exchange rate you want to pick with a FX limit order but there might be some delay if you use a cash account and you would have to wait for your cash to settle before buying the stock (im actually not sure if you can swap and buy manually without the delay). IBKR also gives you a paper trading account that you can use to preview what commissions would you pay for your operations. In general, you pay relatively less commissions the bigger the amount of money you are spending (like 1 share vs 100 shares). All of this is overwhelming and counterintuitive at first but you will eventually get the hang of it. Good luck, fren.
