I can't day trade due to PDT and my broker doesn't offer cash accounts, but what I've started to do is buy 1DTE calls/puts, then when I'd normally sell and exit the trade, I instead open the nearest strike short call/put turning it into a $1 wide spread. This effectively locks in any profit/loss at the time. Not perfect, but it's nice to be able to range-trade a little bit while chilling.
