And COVID was an absolute money printer (who knows, this might be too). Tariffs are more similar than COVID, but those were something fully within the control of Trump to toggle and pause/resume, and once he signaled he would the market forward looked past it to recovery. The situation in Iran is fundamentally different, it involves parties hostile to the US and the damage to the oil supply is already done, just not yet absorbed. This can't be toggled on/off at Trump's whim as much as he likes to pretend that's the case on Truth social. Market's pricing in a very optimistic timeline that I think is impossible to meet realistically, or it's assuming insane money printing. I think this rally was largely mechanical as a squeeze and going forward it'll be priced in more accurately.
