It's only Saturday. Market-pumping bullshit lies don't get deployed until Sunday night.
>>
Okay smiggers I believe I have it worked out.

The reason for the pump is as follows:
>us cant afford its bills
>so government find other ways to fund itself
>capital gains makes up almost half of government revenue
>rather than adding to the debt, the government uses intermediaries like China and Japan does to pump markets even when it makes no sense

>by doing this, you accomplish leveraged taxation
>instead of borrowing $100, you borrow $5 to pump equities at a dip, and collect multiple times that in capital gains, you then sell later when things get more bullish
>rising prices draw in more foreign capital

>in order to do this you need ever more money and liquidity or the system breaks

>so you fund it by printing via lowering reserve requirements, and priting through FHLB and other NGE banks so fed balance sheet stay clean

>printing like this makes economy ever more K shaped, which means you are more dependent on capital gains, which means you must print more and more and more

>this is the reason for the pumping
>>
>>62156149

people get scared but the transition to blade runner levels of corporate power is well underway. governments do not have enough power to control these companies anymore. rate hikes won't even stop growth because fresh boomer inheritances are nonstop flowing in.
>>
>>62156183
Corporate "people" behave exactly like this, though. Ensnare normies into a bubble, then short it and profit from it. And you know who profits? The corporations themselves. Their numbers are fake and gay. They are shorting themselves to make more money.

You need at least $300k-$400k with some concentrated positions, then 8-10% up days you're going up like $30k-$40k. When you start making more in a month than from your yearly salary during an up move in your holdings, that's the tipping point.

What's your thesis? I've pretty much convinced myself to go all in on AI considering the most recent rally, maybe a minority in energy and PMs. We're getting too many green lights from the admin imo. I think powerful people are starting to realize what's at stake. Unironically the industry will be too big to fail. Tulip mania bobos are wrong I think. Will do *a lot* of rebalancing Monday.

>>62156264
It's a grind certainly. Started in crypto. Made a lot of mistakes but it's a learning process. Just now feeling like my head is above water. Best of luck to you too.

>>62156270
>You need at least $300k-$400k with some concentrated positions
yeah setting on 17 different investments between various options, ETFs, and equities. I think I'm spread too thin,
>>
>>62156295
If your personal ethos is currently ingrained in the future of AI, then you should be looking towards the different layers of it for security. Not only should you be involved in the model-making companies, but also the hardware, the resources for that hardware, and the logistics involved in the whole process (mining, construction, and fiber companies). Since nearly every industry can benefit from what you're leaning into, there's fallback potential within things like the defense industry AI (optical processing and wireless networking). And even long term projects like space networking. You could easily cover your own ass without leaving the AI sector.
>>
>>62156277
>>62156288
I'm at $1.7 million and it's not quite enough to retire if you're under 40, unless you want to live like a poorfag. I'm aiming for $3 million minimum. Maybe in another couple of years I'll get there.

My plan is to keep at least my next 2-3 years of expenses in liquid money market ETFs or short term treasuries (can also use that to buy big dips when the happen to top up), then a big tranche in safer growth stocks and funds. Covered calls on my current high growth stocks that I don't want to sell to generate income. 401k and IRAs will be high growth.
>>
>>62156271
i mean sure it's not going to 200 like some doomers but it just feels like all the optimism is fueled by the promise of "it's gonna go back down in 2 more weeks"
well it's been 2 months of oil being 50% higher out of nowhere and it doesn't feel like we're particularly close to going back down to pre-war levels
>>62156284

>>
>>62156308

>>
>>62156316
I don't want to predict markets, this is just my personal opinion; oil is not going back down to where it was, but it's also not going to stay elevated above 90. It is obviously a goal of the current leadership to push industries to reconsider crude sources away from the middle east into American companies, with a price premium that allows the USA to benefit as much as possible. This is a takeover strategy and XOM is going to be at the top of it all when we walk away from all this signal.

Just my take on it, I'm not even putting money behind it because I don't like exxon.

>Give me ideas?
find un correlated assets that go up
so stocks, from different sectors (you said you were 90% tech), and also us and a bit of international
and widely diversified etfs too, because why not? pick some basic shit like qqq and spy or equivalents, then add in some fun stuff if you like tech. like ufo or whatever.

gold, though maybe later since it's pretty correlated to stocks now.
real estate, though same story there, so it's not great now but it should over time stop being correlated
and maybe some bitcoin

just pick different asset classes, which usually are not correlated.

My issue with XOM is that it is already massive. Replacing the entire middle-eastern production would turn it into a state within a state. Ironically preventing this was the reason for Exxon and Mobil's creation in the first place. Why they re-merged them I don't know but if they get too big I can see them being broken up again.

Fairly agreeable point of view. However, it is important to note that elimination of Middle East oil is not part of this purported goal, because US oil can't look good if somebody else doesn't seem worse. The main proposed end game is to enhance the USA's market share of tanker filling, no matter where the American companies are drilling.

Why would Iran trust anything the US says? They negotiated a deal with Obama, Trump pulled us out. Then we bombed them years later unprovoked. Then we demanded negotiations and our ally bombed their negotiators. Our president makes completely different demands on what he wants from the war on an almost daily basis. They are probably sending Vance as a way to make him the face of this mess and hoping he gets bombed.

i think the country that has been under intense sanctions for decades can weather this out longer than western economies

money is a factor for sure, but if they have enough food water and fuel internally - that puts them in a better place... they've had to make do themselves for so long it has probably made them stronger here in terms of providing what they need from within the country

plus they have this new rail link to chyna... not sure how much goes over it and whether oil is viable, but they have other means

I was late to GEV party and only got in at $647. I figured with or with out AI the turbine demand is high and will remain high for maybe two more years just to shore up the energy grid, and if AI holds steady the turbine demand will stronger. But, what is a realistic top considering they announced 770% EPS last week, and when to sell? I dont have enough for the 100 share covered call option and now the price ripping I don't want to buy any more at this price.

Got a question for you biztards.
Some anon a couple days ago laid out how the AI companies and SpaceX etc are trying to rush their inclusion into the S&P500 so that index funds have to buy them and then they can dump all their shares on retail cattle and then run to their bunkers.
Recent regulatory changes are making it look like that really is the plan, or at least that it's possible to do that.
So my question is this: is it about to become a good idea to just do what the index fund does by yourself? That is, buy a basket of stocks and rebalance occasionally? Doing that you could avoid including recent IPOs and it wouldn't take that much effort. Is the effort the only reason people don't do that now?
>>
>>62156695
>Nukliar is plauged by permitting delays, construction delays, financing delays, starup delays.
theroretically much of that has been removed
and yes, that is the main problem. we have finally removed a lot of red tape for nuclear
the problem is that everyone else already knows that, and nuclear stocks have gone up a lot already.

the introduction of a couple IPOs, even really big ones won't really change much for indexes

that takes some continuous effort
the appeal of an index fund is the ability to set it and forget it with your money, mainly
but yeah at this point it seems safer to do it yourself

It really doesn't.
VOO rebalances only 4 times per year. You could create a spreadsheet that automatically calculates how much of each stock you should be holding fairly easily. Then all you would do is buy/sell as needed 4 times per year. The only thing you would need to screen for is when the IPO was. You could also include some other screens too if you want.

>Recent regulatory changes are making it look like that really is the plan

>just do what the index fund does by yourself?
Good idea. It depends on how much time you have available and how much you know about the companies. I do this, but I also have ETFs. I look and compare the ETFs against each other to find the lowest fees, and to also compare their holdings. You will see ETFs have, in many cases, almost the exact same mix and % of stocks.
You can quicly and easily compare holdings of various ETFs yourself:
https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/VGT/holdings/
https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/VOO/holdings/
You can buy an ETF, and also buy some additional shares already held by the ETF to try and accelerate gains, but you also can experience the losses for the individual stock. I hold VGT and buy and sell dips in NVDA, GOOD, MFST

Saturn. The namesake of today, Saturday.
The ancient romans worshipped Saturn as a god of wealth, and their treasury was literally a bunker hidden under the Temple of Saturn.
>Sacrifice
If you’re in an abrahamic religion, you already worship Saturn (though most don’t know it) and you already perform various rituals to satisfy it.
Even Christians perform ritual cannibalism and human sacrifice (communion) so you’re already good to go.

Do we even have the refiners to process oil into gas? I recall that the current process it gets pumped and transported either by ship to processing plants internationally then transported back as a finished product.

PBR does something where their export profits are tapped to subsidize their domestic prices iirc

We are living in a clown market and I am going to be its greatest fool
>>
>>62156990
No, but I gave them fairly generous margins -- 15-20%. Not any more. Not in an utterly irrational market that spooks itself even when there is no news, and sure as hell not now with mass hysteria in the air and war in the Middle East.
>>
>>62156999
Infinite dollar printing and massive hyperinflation incoming. But the market is a casino, it doesn't even matter.

JD Vance increases the possibility in my opinion. They’ve been trying to make him the ”peace candidate” ever since the war started. Constantly leaking shit that implies he’s against the war and that he’s trying to get out of it. The voice of peace in the administration. That way he can run in 2028 as MAGA but without the war baggage. It’ll help him even more if it’s assumed he’s the one that helped broker a peace deal. Not that he’ll win though but they’ll need a candidate that isn’t completely sullied by the war.

Pay attention to the news. Or just Google JD Vance against the Iran war or some shit. And the goofball basically poofed out of existence for the first few weeks of the war lel. Obvious he was trying to keep his distance from it
>>
>>62157011
I saw the rumors that he was the only one in the room against the war, but that feels like something coming from his camp. Trump is known to throw people under the bus and I don't think he respects Vance. This just feels like they are setting him up as the fall guy. For whatever reason the only person who seems to know how to navigate the white house without looking like a clown is Rubio who is currently getting his deeply held wish to destroy Cuba. All without any political blowback

>increasing number of stocks or focusing on decreasing your cost basis? What is the best strategy?
Yes. You buy 100 shares at $100/share and it dips to $80, you buy 100 more shares you increase your share count and lower you average price to $90 and can sell two covered call contracts to lower cost basis even more. A lot depends on how long you want to hold the stock, how much you want to hold, what average price you want and so on. I sold a put on CRWV last year strike $150 and it kept going down, got assigned, and been selling covered calls on it and bought another 100 shares to lower price and kept selling covered calls. Now my cost basis is about $106 and two weeks ago I sold 2 CCs strike $145 for $11.44 Dec 18 expiry. I used the premium to take vacation last week. I am happy to let the stock go and start wheeling with the money again. If the price shits the bed before I will buy to close and start selling CCs again. Im not claiming to be an expert, a lot depends on the stock/company. Start small, keep developing experience.

>>
>>62157026
Yeah Vance and MAGA are probably trying to maintain the Vance opposition to the war narrative without arousing too much suspicion from Trump, without it appearing to Trump as if he’s opposing him. True Rubio is the smartest guy in the admin and he had probably hoped to get Cuba done first. If he’s smart enough he won’t run until 2032 though since no Republican is gonna win in 28.
>>62157033
I don’t have time to hold your hand explaining what is so obvious to see. You clearly like or dislike Vance which is why you’re offended by this obvious reality and I don’t care to find out which one it is.

It was about whether or not there will be peace deal; which affect stocks, with Vance at the table. Vance at the negotiations should therefore make you more bullish on a peace deal. Whether it goes up from never gonna happen to probably not gonna happen or much more is up to you.

I have ~$90k in my retirement accounts and I thought that I was doing the right thing by putting all of it in just a few index funds tracking the S&P500 and total international stock. Now I see that I could've doubled or tripled my money by buying SOXL, TXN, maybe AMD. Am I retarded? Is this how I was supposed to find out?

>every share of what?
The urgent message and the emotional pick somehow drives retards to click the links so they can earn more money. Generally all the big youtube stock pickers are picking the same stocks long after they rally. The only exception I am aware of is Tom Nash who was pushing PLTR even when it was going down to like 6 before the big rip, but I already owned it before I heard of Nash. I also just do my own research to find my own picks and check some of these tubes to see if they also picked the same and if so what their 'analysis' is. I forgot to check Couch Investor's channel to see if he did the same.
