Not really, as is evidenced by the continuous upward trend during the year long time period I pointed out.. Intuitively, what you're saying makes senes, but it doesn't mean that's how the market behaves. Without any statistical evidence I wouldn't bet money on intuitive statements about the market.

not sure i agree, if anything, that entire period can be seen as one big bearish divergence that indeed DID topple over violently when there was a news shock. you can see that the current rally we have had up until the most recently dump (IE April 2025 - March 2026) has had mostly at or above trend volume, and resisted the most recent dump a lot better. and finally at the end you can see just how low the volume for the rally of the past couple weeks has been

You're disagreeing that statements like this should have statistical grounding, and that reasoning about the market from intuition alone is a poor approach? The statement you're making itself is one about statistical correlation (of volume and trend strength), so you're contradicting yourself here.

And anyway, it bounced right back to new ATHs right after, and this was all after a year long uptrend. You can't just extend timelines indefinitely and wait until a crash occurs then say 'told ya!'. More importantly, it's only one data point and it was news driven.

well, im outsourcing actual statistical rigor or historical data checking on my part to an appeal to authority--the assumption that because volume divergence is an established thing people look for, someone probably did some statistical analysis on historical data. volume is an important indicator, that is definitely a fact. so i dont really see it as pure intuition at all; your entire post is basically a non sequitur
>>62175403
>And anyway, it bounced right back to new ATHs right after
now who's looking at a single data point? you had no idea in the depth of that dump if it was going to bounce. if you bought, it was almost certainly based either on intuition or a trade strategy that assumed a long term uptrend regardless of time horizon. which is not what im talking about

Reminder to not be a retard, figure out why your best plays worked and stop making stupid trades. Basically all my losses were from being retarded around earnings.
>lose 90% on META calls
I bought too short expiry and way too high strike price. Generally you should get a few months out and in the money calls. You mitigate a lot of downside risk while still leaving room for significant upside.
>lose 90% on INTEL puts
This was just a classic retarded emotional play "it can't keep going up!" and obviously it did a lot.
>fear induced covered calls
I missed a lot of upside when I sold a few covered calls out of fear the market would keep going down despite I knew it would recover, just didn't know when.

All my wins are long term calls, or at least a few months, buying the dip on ETFs like QQQ or just holding long term and selling way out of the money calls.

>someone probably did some statistical analysis on historical data.
So you have no clue and it's all 100% vibes, got it.

>now who's looking at a single data point?
You are? I'm not the one making the claim volume divergence is a valid bearish signal. I provided a counter-example of an uptrend and you pointed out that it crashed.

Just admit you're just vibing at least and that's its' a completely uninformed guess, or do a quick backtest so you can at least see the historical significance, if any.

Think about what Japan is facing. They are a massive importer of everything. Food, oil, commodities, raw materials. If the yen continues to weaken (goes over 160). In what is plainly a crisis stagflation situation facing them in weeks with oil. Then a dramatically weakening yen could send rocketing oil to the moon squared when you factor the yen is buying less and less as it falls.

The 160 is important. Because last time it was that weak was 1990. Buy now they’ve a terrible debt dynamics and demographic future. Over 160 is clear air. And a monetary/debt/bond/political crisis if the fall can’t be stopped after that.

Now is THAT happened. The amount of money the japs have in US treasuries and equities. That would be sold in a fire sale to save Japan from meltdown. Would trigger a global storm. And I haven’t even mentioned how it would unwind the carry trade fully as those yen were called home.

why would they ever go insane and sell it all?

I dont think they will ever sell as long as yen is not getting weaker than 160

Earnings always have two events:
1 the release of the financial report
2 the call where forward guidance is given and questions are answered
For most companies, report is published pretty soon after the closing bell, then the call is usually a half hour or so after the report.

turns out keeping on printing money and not spending it on meme ai is pretty bullish

their ai fuck up and step back to take stock of the situation turned out well instead of rushing in... i cannot think of something ai related that would be beneficial to me having it native on any apple device

they don't need to do shit and can just pick/buy a winner, if they even need to do that - they only need to integrate it well
