Same. I bought a 4090 just to make sure that no one on /v/ had more VRAM than I did, but I only ever use the GPU to transcode video, which I could've done on my Intel CPU with no problems. I bought it off Facebook marketplace for a thousand bucks when Juang was saying the 5070 was going to smoke it and I could probably sell it for double what I paid for it, but I like having the flex and to mess around with the occasional AI model once every couple of months before I get bored after 15 minutes.

>fuck do "financial advisors" even do?
whats funny is my dad did his family's taxes since he was a jr accountant fresh out of college and on his death bed told me to trust the FA... but he also told me when he was in better health that he didnt want the FA to know about his fun/play account (which is where the GOOGL was purchased). So my dumbass lets the FA take control of that play account and he immediately sold all the individual tickers in the account and put the money into blackrock etfs.

from this i was able to deduce that the "fee only advisors" must be getting kickbacks from blackrock to keep the clients money tied up into funds that would otherwise be totally illiquid if not for the client capital propping the them up. So i just didnt appreciate the dishonesty on the sales pitch from the "fee only" advisors... we are a fiduciary so we have to work in your best interest.... yadda yadda yadda... it was in my best interest to own GOOGL outright but for some reason you wanted me bagholding the blackrock emerging markets etf.

>fuck do "financial advisors" even do? if they were actually good they wouldnt need to work, no?
Their job is just to keep you in the market. Most goyim will freak out and sell at the bottom, look at that retard on here who lost like 50% of his port bottom selling the liberation day tarriffs. A good financial advisor will stop you from doing that by asking basic questions like "are you sure you want to sell the bottom?", "the hormussy sounds closed but maybe it opens?", and "you're doing great, just keep on trucking!"
They may seem expensive, but in the long run they do stop emotional retards from panicking.

you got the right idea. you do that until you are rich and then when you want to capital preserve you go into bonds real estate gold. etf's are great if you want to lever up because of the reduced volatility, i have concentration risk so i use them as a backup plan, but otherwise nearly all of them are just diworsification except for arkk. they're better than the stupid strategies most people try to employ though, but if more people copied this then they wouldn't need them.

I have a feeling people will keep saying that this market makes no sense and doom-posting while the market inexplicably continues to rocket upwards, like truly into fever dream territory, beyond any shred of rationality until like 2029 and then we're gonna have a bear market for 10-20 years.

Every nigga on twitter/reddit/youtube/etc has been predicting a massive bubble in AI, tech, real estate, bonds, *everything* and wants to be the heckin based Michael Burry le ebin BIG SHORT.

You know that quote everyone likes to talk about, "when your cab driver is giving you stock suggestions, it's time to exit the market" well this shit is like the inverse. When the guy who does a Warhammer 40k podcast you listen to is predicting an AI bubble, then it's time to invest more.

As inflation increases, the middle and lower classes will have their incomes be pushed into higher tax brackets without ever voting for it. In 20 years when making $400,000 is the same as making $50,000 today, you'll have to pay more tax than ever because the tax brackets don't adjust with inflation.

Just another way the boomers won, and I don't hear anyone talking about this.

a demand deposit is the process that happens when someone buys ("demands") a stock, their "demand" is "deposited" to the company selling the stock, so the higher the line the stronger the attraction/demand/etc. is for US stocks. Essentially we are absolutely ripping and will continue to do so

But we need more information to give you actually good advice. Do you have an emergency fund? Do you have any debts? How much do you make per year, what are your expenses, and do you work in an industry where you can jump to a different job to make more money?

Your net worth is so small right now that I would be worrying more about the basics than what to invest in. I don't mean that to put you down, we all started somewhere.

A financial advisor's job is to not get fired. If they had held the GOOGL and it crashed for some reason, some NPC would've been like "why didn't you diversify this like you should've?"

They don't care about making you money, they care about not having big drawdowns that freak you out. Because it's fair to assume that if you're hiring him in the first place, you probably can't stomach a correction.

And if those index ETFs crash, he can just say oh look the whole market is down not my fault.

Telling you this under the cover of night, the state doesn't want you to know this. Today soldiers arrived in my town and they're rounding up all the bears: putting them in cattle wagons, even the children. Just captured this picture with a b&w filter for my insta. This is happening right now in Europe, the waves of repressions will likely reach foreign shores as well, stay strong out there bears.

Options are gay. By the way WDC will gap up monday when the market manipulators, I mean makers, quit stepping on its dick.

Finally made back all my YTD losses and made a $424.74 profit. Probably should've sold before market close. Thinking about celebrating (early?) with my parents, but they're kind of only into food.

A very satisfying 7.4% for the day, sir. 26% for the week, 37% for the year. Storageanons, our portfolios are healing from that hideous February. Let us rejoice with great gladness.
