Envy is really cute when he isn't speaking
I'll always prefer the 2003 character designs. I prefer the 2003 anime in general.
Real ones remember Bluebird's Illusion.

Does anyone have have any neat post 2017 Homunculus art? I need to update my folder
>>3914453
Elricest art?
>>3914065I ship Edvy hard. Wish there was more content.
I want to know what Arakawa was on when she made Greed because oh my god. After 10 years he still makes me blushBless the female gaze
hes such a pathetic piece of shit hnnnghh the best ending would have been him getting trapped behind the Gate for eternity tied to a chair with a vibrator taped to his cock and forced to watch hot sweaty breeding sex between Havoc and Riza. Getting a glimpse into his true nature as Truth’s silliest cuck was hot asf.
>>3926655ok
RoyEd was my first yaoi ship.
>>3927705Yeah, he’s fine.
Never been a fan of vanilla Elricest, but something about Ed being unable to refuse Heiderich's advances does it for me.
Do you prefer him more fem or masc?
>>3929258I don't find the character attractive at all but masc > fem
I think this might be the single cutest image I have ever seen in my life.
>>3929258Masc obviously. He was always toned and fit but modern audiences are obsessed with feminization and seem unable to get into this kind of male beauty.
>>3926655Edward is better
>>3926655You are deranged
>>3926655Based sick fuck
>>3929258Masc>>3929328>>3929588Based
He looks so good in this waistcoat.
He's so cute senpai. I can't handle it.
Made for bottoming
>>3930271Agree with that.Where did all the fics go? I watched FMA in high school and so many of them have disappeared since then. The reading situation is dire. Going based off AO3 numbers, you would have no idea how big FMA ships were back in the day. FFnet pruned all the explicit stuff and Livejournal is unusable.
>>3930342I haven't looked into it for FMA, but I have found with other old fandoms that there is still a lot of worth-while stuff on ff.net, even explicit stuff that was missed by the purge. Rather than sorting by favs, it's best to find a recommendation list on tumblr or livejournal, especially if you're searching for a certain ship. We'll probably never know just how much we lost, though. The second burning of Alexandria. If you find something good, you better share it.
>>3929328>>3929588I do too but you see very little of that recently, you’re right about the modern audience.>>3930271Made for bottoming indeed. Lovely art.>>3930342>>3930366Feeling this too. I’ve looked at some on ff.net but it’s a lot to mine through. Good idea on the lists though, didn’t consider that. I’m writing for these two right now but I understand it’s an acquired taste. Rare pairs are like, doomed.
Tfw ywn carry sleeping Ed in your arms from his study desk to bed...
>>3930585Meant to reply to this art >>3930556
jfc he was 153cm in this. Literally made for breeding.
>>3930397I found an old fma fanfiction site that has been mostly preserved by the wayback machine. They had a dedicated Edvy tag, and it looks like the fic "Wasteland" was very popular.https://web.archive.org/web/20190315192526/http://www.scimitarsmile.com/archives.php?t=141
>>3930778how tall is that in freedom units?
>>3930824BARELY 5 foot. For most of the 03 anime he is around 4'10. In CoS he's 18 and presumably at his maximum height.I'm not finding hard stats on how tall he is at the end of mangahood, but most people speculate him being around 5'5-5'7 by comparing his height to other characters. Still a manlet, but not THAT tiny. Just add that to the list of many ways 03 is superior.
>>3930919>BARELY 5 foot(ToT)
>>3931235Hnnnng you could just pick him up and plap him
*sniff*
>>3930785Yeah, I’ve read it before. Personally it wasn’t for me, although it was well written. I prefer top!Envy and bottom!Ed and it was the opposite. I’m writing my own fic but it’s that Homer Simpson meme of “can’t someone else do it.” I’ve read everything on that site you referred, actually, I appreciate the rec tho.
>>3931620I wonder what it smells like.
>>3931619>>3931620>>3931647Pine and sex.
>>3931652Pine? I was thinking probably motor oil, ozone and wood ash. But I also get the impression he conditions it. It's too silky otherwise
>>3931658I pictured ozone too, but I like the wood ash and motor oil. He’s lovely.
Ahhhhh I just finished a rewatch of FMA 03 and I loved it just as much as I did 18 years ago! If you haven't seen it and have only watched Brotherhood, go watch it right now! It's so good!
Happy I misclicked on the board I was trying to go to do this is the first thread I see. God he’s so beautiful. I wanna kiss him, I wanna love him, I wanna fix him. I love who he is. I’ve been obsessed with him ever since I was a kid. If I could be with any fictional character, it would be my Ed. >>393235403 is the best version. I’ll defend that to anyone. Beautiful show.
>>3932355Thank you anon, we all need to be preaching the good word of FMA 03He is so gorgeous. Why did Brotherhood butcher my boy?
I wish either anime had let him wear the military uniform just once. I appreciate that his character design is a reference to the 4 stages of completing the philosopher's stone with the magnum opus, but he looks so good in blue.
>>3932356His story is just so much more engaging in 03. I sound like a sick fuck but the hardships he goes through in that show just adds to his beauty to me. He keeps going, keeps struggling, all for his baby bro. I hate how their relationship took a backseat in Brotherhood. One of my many issues with it. My golden boy.
>>3932360You're absolutely right, anon. 03 is a much more focused and mature-feeling story, and everything in it ties back to the themes of loss, grieving and acceptance. Loss of a family member, loss of a friend, loss of a country, loss of faith, loss of a dream, etc. It has a much smaller cast than Brotherhood, so it spends much more time developing the characters it has, including Edward and Alphonse. It's ironic that the one named "Brotherhood" has less to do with the actual brothers.I do like Shamballa too, despite it's flaws. But I really like the ending of the anime proper, with Ed and Al split between words. It doesn't feel fair, but that's the whole point. Equivalent exchange was a lie. Losing something or someone leaves a hole that can never be replaced, and there are some things in this world that you will never be able to barter back. But if you keep moving forward and doing your best, you will find something new to cherish and peace with what you have. You have two strong legs, after all. I also watched FMA as a kid, and that line from Edward really inspired me in my personal philosophy growing up.People love to hate on Dante, too, and say she's a weak villain with a weak motivation, but I think it's brilliant how her inability to accept her own mortality parallels Ed and Al's inability to accept the death of their mom. It all ties back to the same theme. And the way Al has no memories at the end after regaining his body. It's like saving the brother he lost came at the cost of losing the brother he had. None of it is fair after everything they went through, but they have their lives and they have a goal ahead of them, so they can keep moving forward.I could seriously write a whole dissertation on this. I love this anime.
And I always feel so petty for saying it, but why did they make him ugly? They didn't have to do that. He wasn't ugly in the manga. Arakawa has kind of a loose, stylized drawing style that can look a little goofy at times, but for some reason Brotherhood decided to use the most unflattering interpretation of her artwork. Arslan Senki's character designs were adapted in a similar way to 03. What was the reason for this? I'm not crazy, right?
I love the way they play Beethoven and Chopin in the last few episodes, after Ed has crossed the boundaries between worlds. It's such a smart choice. The soundtrack was so good.
>>3932361You just understand the show and the themes it’s going for.Shamballa isn’t perfect but I put the fault more on the studio. I’m pretty sure the writer and director of 03 wanted to make Shamballa a complete second season of the series. There’s just not enough time for a lot of its interesting ideas to be fleshed out, but I still like the movie overall. >>3932368I remember watching the series again after so long of not seeing it and during the scene in the final episode when Ed and Envy are at the gate, I instantly could tell that it was Chopin even though I never heard that piece before and I just about wept. His pieces have a delicacy that are unique to him and it was absolutely perfect for the scene it played in.
>>3932377Pour one out for the 13 episode version of Shamballa that was originally scripted. RIP closure for Mustang's character. I'm sure you were there in the draft.
>>3932380>ywn see the scrapped scene of Mustang and Winry at Hughes’ grave where they properly address the elephant in the room Out of all universes to exist, why this one?
>>3932385Was that in the original version? I need to know more about what we missed. Maybe that's where our timeline went wrong.
>>3932386It was. I don’t have a link to it but the series’ director gave an interview talking about it. It is what it is. I’m just happy that 03 exists anyway. Even if people don’t realize it, it’s an incredible show and has the love of my life in it. Though every guy in it is attractive pretty much.
>>3932387He looks so good in every frame he appears in. Why is his expression of despair so cute?
>>3932388I hate how attracted I am to Ed is despair/distress.Ain’t sorry for it though. He’s all beautiful, always.
My kingdom for some good RoyEd brat taming smut. Even better if it's 2003 canon.
I think this particular image was seared into my subconscious at an early age. Hopefully not too nsfw for /cm/.
>>3932447I love this kind of convenient censorship.
>>3932447lol i know that feeling
>>3932420I love his armpit
>>3932506Armpits are nice
>>3932354Controversial opinion, although I love the art style and some of the homunculi better in ‘03, I do prefer brotherhood over it. Maybe it’s because it feels a bit warmer and complete, while a lot of ‘03 had all this despair—the plight you felt for the homunculi was intense. Maybe it’s because the first scene I ever saw of either version was Envy as the worm pulling out the stone (prob why I ship them) but I also think you do get elements of that brotherhood? I think I like the both of them just for entirely different reasons. The one thing ‘03 definitely does better is that they kept Ed smol and give him a fat ass.>>3932420>>3932520Umf.
>>3932586Boyfriends
>>3932590Match made in hell, my favorite.
>>3932597Imagine the toxicity. I can only get so excited.
>>3932520>>3932600Envy's pits... oh god
>>3932600Despair but also an erection, your dubs speak truth. Don’t get me started anon, I’d say I could write a book on them but pretty much sadly have.
>>3932605Based toxic Edvy appreciator. And amazing edit on that pic lol. I wonder what all the evil goodness you have in your “book” is all about.
>>3932608Don’t get your hopes too high up: what I’m currently working on is more hurt/comfort mush, arguably worse than the toxicity with the hoops I’m jumping through to justify them. I’m a sucker for romance as much as the ugly, though, what can I say. I like them cute as cuddly as much as I like them beating the ever shit out of each other. I have however published a noncon for them too. It’s on Ao3, I have currently active but it’s been a year and I’m finishing up.
>>3932687I like vanilla, I like fucked up, I like it all. All I know is I just like them together in any way. They’re my second favorite ship in FMA aside from my almighty EdAl. I’d love to read your fic if you wanted to link it. No pressure.
>>3932697Agreed, damn good taste, just want them bumping uglies in some way, for better or for worse. I hear that, I have a few friends who love EdAl, not really my cup of tea but I get the appeal. Seems to be very popular and there is a ton of good art. I have read Envy/Ed/Al when it’s around.Absolutely, I’d love to share! No pressure at all on your end, either. https://archiveofourown.org/works/48988225/chapters/123590047
>>3933044specifically my cock
>>3933060He’s already married to my cock.
>>3933064he still prefers mine
>>3933089As long as he’s happy, he can have any cock he wants.
>>3933089ladies, ladies, please...hes married to his brother's cock...
>>3933312Two people have never belonged together as much as they do.
>>3933312That's a weird way to spell mustang
>>3933337SO REAL SO TRUEEEE love you <3
>>3933377
>>3933351This!
>>3933382its like yeah ive got the yaoi incest fetish everybody else has here, but something about the elrics is so genuinely sweet and warm and loving. their mutual devotion, their banter, their doting (ed's a little more tsundere about it but thats to be expected) on each other... like yeah, genuinely, they shouldve been married.
>>3933451this was supposed to come with an image attached, wtf
>>3933451They go beyond just liking them for the incest fetish. Edward and Alphonse have been through everything together, they belong together. I feel a real warmth with their bond that clears the surface of simply “incest hot”. They’re soulmates and the fact that they’re brothers just adds to the deepness of their love. Just imagine the wedding.
>>39334811000% with you, theyre made for each other... ms arakawa knew what she was doing and had to settle for edwin because you cant market yaoi incest in shounen... so sad
Ed and Al are too sweet together for fucking. Besides, Ed's bratty bottom levels are off the charts, and I don't think Al has it in him to top his nii-san.
>>3933836Believe you me, they fugg just like any true lovers would. I picture Ed as a bottom for anyone besides his little bro. Even then I’m sure Ed would want Al to top once on a while. Wish CoS gave us an extended scene where they make love for the first time.
>>3933844Make me believe that Al has the guts to grab him by the ponytail and bend him over a table and I'll be a convert. Otherwise, I can't see it. That's why I only make an exception for Alfons. He doesn't have the associated emotional baggage or little brother inferiority complex that would make him hesitate.Imagine going about your terminally ill life and this golden godling falls into your lap. Brilliant as much as he is insane, and weirdly captivated by you at first glance, like you're the one thing he's been searching for his entire life. Of course you shack up with him at word go. I wonder how Alphonse felt when he learned a man with his same face and name from another universe was plowing his nii-san on the regular.
What did they mean by this?
>>3934010Showing off his neck like a bitch in heat. I bet he wants someone to bite it.
>>3934010Pretty boy. My pretty boy.
>>3934015Being covered in little birds makes him look like a disney princess. He's so melancholic is Shamballa artwork.
>>3934017Would anyone really have been upset if Ed broke out into song like a Disney princess at some point throughout CoS? I know I wouldn’t have. He’s had a hard life. More so than most people have to go through in their whole lives and Ed was only 18 at that point. You’re right. There’s a kind of melancholic air he has throughout the whole film and it’s just such a striking thing to see after the series. He’s much more reserved and quiet.
>>3934040I want to say that Edward probably has a singing voice like nails on a chalkboard, because he's already so pretty it wouldn't be fair if he could also sing. But unfortunately Romi Paku is an immensely talented individual who has recorded almost an album's worth of in-character songs, and we know for a fact that he has the voice of an angel. (And Vic Mignogna is also a pretty competent singer, if you're into that kind of thing). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3c8ZYtBE1Mhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AkQQTejRyshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qd1Fpni0p8ghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdnfEKXQvzMhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MhH4Yca0dU
