For those who want to go in blind, the description has been spoilered.
>Tom Hart's two-year-old daughter Rosalie was a bundle of energy: always running, exploring, and fascinated by the world around her.
>But one night, when Tom went to check on her in her crib, he found her silent, still, and unbreathing. Without a sign that anything had been wrong, she had passed away in her sleep.
>This touching and beautiful graphic novel memoir tells the heartbreaking story of the untimely death of the author's young daughter, and the solace that Hart finds in nature, philosophy, literature, and art. Rosalie Lightning is a graphic masterpiece chronicling a father's undying love, and a tribute to much-missed baby girl.

I read that for newborns it’s birth trauma, and when not detected it may lead to SIDS. Or the bruising forms after the parents have already taken the infant home, which then leads to accusations of abuse.

This time, it's 2017.

Last time, with Lust for Lisa ended Mason Jarr was free to take the Starbuck Jones role and at Les's invitation stayed in Westview to peruse Holly/Cory's collection in order to study the role. While there, he met Cindy and there was an immediate attraction. Around the same time, Cindy was offered a newscasting job for an L.A. tech startup called Buddyblog and while there officially started dating Mason and so decided to take the job and move to California. When Mason didn't like the script for the movie she also helpfully offered up Pete's name as a possible writer necessitating his own move out to L.A. and Pete in turn got Darin a job as a storyboarder for the movie meaning he and Jessica would also need to move.

While out there, though, Cindy became jealous of Mason's pretty and younger co-star Marianne Winters. Also there was Bio-Dad Frankie, now working for a TMZ knockoff. Following Mason and Marianne he was able to make it seem like the two were in a relationship which caused Marianne to have a breakdown but the now Mason Jarre was able to get to her and things worked themselves out. Also, the Mason Gang managed to track down original Starbuck Jones actor Cliff Anger, befriending him and getting him a role in the new movie.

Back in Westview, Bull started showing odd behavior and explosive anger and it was discovered that he likely had CTE. This necessitated his early retirement from coaching. Cory came home from the army and sold off his Starbuck Jones collection so he could buy an engagement ring and propose to his girlfriend Roxanne "Rocky" Rhodes. John was also offered a consulting role for Starbuck Jones while the old school computer was taken away to be used as a prop in the film.

Not as much as a page 10 rescue, but a legitimate thing I want to say. If the improbably happens, and a 4th season is greenlit, I hope the writres learn from their mistakes, and tone down the attempts at their DAU, and focus on writing inside their own universe, like season 1. You have all the characters you need, enough with the cameos.

We've already talked about this multiple times on this board. I don't think there's anything else left to say about it.
>>
>>151930711
I would understand this if cartoons had pretty good writing but it's just so... unimpressive. Like it's not particularly bad but if the writing in most cartoons were used in any other medium it would be written of as mediocre to bad writing. Honestly it's the character design that attracts people to cartoons most of the time.

>>
>>151931903
Most on the people into cartoons also don't have much experience with other mediums outside of fanfiction and fanfiction derived content, and so their standards for a good story are very uninspired and limited.
When all you have experienced is a dull grey world, even the slightest bit of dogshit brown can be novel and exciting.
But you do have a point about character designs. One of the most in my opinion insidious but effective exploits modern cartoons do is give the audience an appealing character design and enough of a character and motivation before giving nothing for months to let said audience do all the heavy lifting in regards to forming attachment by having them write their own version of the via headcanon.
People are creative, but using your fanbases creativity as a crutch for ones lack of proper release pacing or work ethic rubs me the wrong way.

>i thought people liked Sugar, Ward, McHale and Jones-Quartey
Most people here recognize them for being (at least partially) responsible for the prevalence of the worst trends in the animation industry from the 10s on.

In any case, it feels like only McHale took the project seriously. Ward was decent setup, but felt phoned in an. Sugar and Quartey's short was entirely masturbatory navelgazing about her career. McHale managed to tell an entire story on his own and cap everything off in a satisfying manner.

It was an interesting experiment, but it was still very much an experiment.

That's more of an issue with indie animation than the medium as a whole, but you're absolutely right.

Dora was like Nick learned all the wrong lessons from Blue’s Clues. They knew they had a winner with the “interactive show” format but failed to realize that the reason Blue was beloved was because that show was quiet and treated kids with some amount of respect. Dora was yet another loud and obnoxious “get up and sing/scream” show meant to sell merch rather than actually teach anything or provide parents with a peaceful show to watch with their kid.

yes op, fascism is reactionary by nature, well done, you're almost ready to take remedial history
>>
>>151931965
>hurrpetty durr muh fascism
How can your brain be so near and yet so far. It's authoritarianism. Whenever you idiots are asked to describe fascism, you end up describing authoritarianism in varying severity. Which was sure as hell the core component of communist regimes. But hey, it's okay when you do it. You are right that *support* for authoritarianism is reactionary. Because when shit goes to hell and people's prosperity and safety is threatened, they want a tough bastard to crack down and fix the problem. Which is why in the third world the people rally around warlords and dictators, and which is why Trump is losing the republican voter. Because he didn't release the Epstein files, he isn't having ICE deport entire cities, and he isn't having the national guard fire upon the antifas.
And it all has fuckall to do with OP's point. OP's point is that Dredd may be a caricature but he is the straight man of his setting. You just wanted to be hipster cunt and go "Umm Dredd is actually fascist? And fascism is reactionary which is, like, bad?"
>>
>>151932053
These kinds will never admit the similarities between most conceptions of communism and other authoritarian regimes because the end goal of the actions taken is the naïve belief in the undoing of the authoritarian model once everyone has communal thought to the level of not needing leadership anymore.
Its pure ends justify the means logic.

I prefer 2 over 1 because almost all the characters have more to do and the villain is better
>>
>>151930516
Yes
>>
>>151931115
My major reason for not liking 4 is how it bastardizes the characters far beyond what 3 ever did. Especially Woody. The ending of 4 (and honestly Woody's entire arc in 4) completely spits in the face of absolutely everything Woody stood for through the entire trilogy and retroactively made both Pete and Lotso 100% correct.
Also Forky is not a fun character nor is the new Bo Peep.
>>
>>151931472
2 is honestly better than 1 in almost every respect. The central conflict and theme of accepting mortal life vs leaving it for 'immortality' or otherwise being forced to let down those who've been seeking it their whole existence, is much more interesting and more than a matter of "getting over" jealousy and delusion. The jokes are also funnier and less gimmicky.

>>151931667
Pete was completely in the right the whole of 2 aside from right at the very end when they decided to make him a villain. He wasn't even a 'twist villain', he had every reason to believe and value what he did right up until there was an alternative, but the writers were seemingly too scared to have the other character cross someone as clearly well meaning as him without having him become 'evil'.
