>B-but they can’t even kill major villains in the comics!
How does writers giving villains massive plot armor somehow debunk the pros of capital punishment? We’re talking about applying their philosophy to real life, not a story where logic is discarded for the sake of the narrative.

>NOOOOOO YOU CAN’T JUST HECKIN KILL THE JOKER SURE HE NUKED MILLIONS OF PEOPLE AND TURNED SUPERMAN INTO HITLER BUT HE CAN STILL BE HECKIN REDEEMED!

Capital punishment isn't a punishment at all, if anything, it makes criminals NOT have to live through any actual punishment, it's very stupid.

This time, it's 2017.

Last time, with Lust for Lisa ended Mason Jarr was free to take the Starbuck Jones role and at Les's invitation stayed in Westview to peruse Holly/Cory's collection in order to study the role. While there, he met Cindy and there was an immediate attraction. Around the same time, Cindy was offered a newscasting job for an L.A. tech startup called Buddyblog and while there officially started dating Mason and so decided to take the job and move to California. When Mason didn't like the script for the movie she also helpfully offered up Pete's name as a possible writer necessitating his own move out to L.A. and Pete in turn got Darin a job as a storyboarder for the movie meaning he and Jessica would also need to move.

While out there, though, Cindy became jealous of Mason's pretty and younger co-star Marianne Winters. Also there was Bio-Dad Frankie, now working for a TMZ knockoff. Following Mason and Marianne he was able to make it seem like the two were in a relationship which caused Marianne to have a breakdown but the now Mason Jarre was able to get to her and things worked themselves out. Also, the Mason Gang managed to track down original Starbuck Jones actor Cliff Anger, befriending him and getting him a role in the new movie.

Back in Westview, Bull started showing odd behavior and explosive anger and it was discovered that he likely had CTE. This necessitated his early retirement from coaching. Cory came home from the army and sold off his Starbuck Jones collection so he could buy an engagement ring and propose to his girlfriend Roxanne "Rocky" Rhodes. John was also offered a consulting role for Starbuck Jones while the old school computer was taken away to be used as a prop in the film.

Welcome to another thread discussing your favorite comics of the decade. We're doing another round of the 2020s, since we're more than halfway done with the decade.
Here you can present and discuss your favorite reads published this decade so far (2020 - 2025), including series that ended this decade that did not begin this decade.
We allow comics from all over the world and of different formats: American, European, manga (only encouraged if you also have favorites of western origin), webcomics, etc., as long as the enthusiasm is there. You can also discuss major disappointments.
For your 3x3s:

My current favorites from this decade.
Zoc and A Frog in the Fall have a pretty obvious Studio Ghibli influence, but I enjoyed them just the same. They are very comfy.
Sunday, I read entirely over a Sunday. It was a religious experience. I plan to revisit all of the Schrauwen family comics (Arsene Schrauwen, Parallel Lives, Sunday), as they're all interlinked by fictional blood.
Land of the Lustrous is epic. I'd love more action series like this and Takemitsuzamurai (and No. 5) that have a unique art style; their own MO.
Tokyo These Days (center) is my top favorite so far. It, along with Sunday, revitalized my my love for comics after a prolonged slump.
Goodbye, Eri is quite moving and I just plain enjoy formal playfulness and cinema.
The Great Beyond ("The Great Void" in French?) is a visual feast with a neat gimmick premise. There's another comic from this artist I want to look into called Semi-Science Fiction.
Crickets is actually The Blood of the Virgin. I didn't think I'd like it, but suddenly I was on the last page. Pretty good. Reminded me of the way Jaime Hernandez did comics, but a lot more focused on its main narrative.
One Beautiful Spring Day is more Jim Woodring. Can't get enough.

>From the pages of Jingle Belle comes everybody's favorite Texas firebrand! Master comics writer Paul Dini has set his imagination loose in the Southwest, and the result is Mutant, Texas, a town where several natural and nuclear disasters have irradiated the environment, giving strange new attributes to the inhabitants -- human, animal, and otherwise. This includes the pretty-as-pie, ginger-locked, good-time gal, Ida Red. A lady who can fly and shoot blasts of lightning from her fingers makes one heck of a sheriff, particularly when those crafty Kiyote Bros. are on the prowl! Join Dini and artist J. Bone for a brand-new adventure, taking you from Ida's youth to when she earned that silver star.

It's just only this sadly. Wondy as Mars was part of a project of DC Sailors for fun based on their matching colors:

Harley Quinn - Sailor Moon
Killer Frost - Sailor Mercury
Poison Ivy - Sailor Jupiter
Starfire - Sailor Venus

Not really? The announcement of this movie was enough to immediately write it off as a soulless cash grab. T3 was a perfectly fine way to end the series.

Despite the autism he's right for the most part. If he just shortened his video to 30 min it would be tolerable.
Also he had a fit about the Mater cartoon having ghost in it because it messed with the lor of cars.
>>
>>151930938
If he shortened it to an hour and only focused on the major points this would come across so much less autistic.
There’s a portion dedicated to how he feels insulted because there’s a part in the audio commentary for the movie where the director jokes about wanting to destroy “the Pixar shared universe theory”. He claims that’s an attack on the fan base.

>Misteps
Pretty sure the most successful post-Infinity War entries in the MCU are the ones that involve multiverse slop. As much as people on the internet bitch about them because they break some unstated sacred rule of storytelling, the general populace just wants Steve Rogers and Tony Stark to come back, and get to meet the OG X-Men, along with Wolverine, Deadpool, and Tobey McGuire. The shameless fanservice is what people come to these movies for.

As a marketing tactic, nostalgia is very effective. But it usually has to be very blatant in the promotional material. If they sold The Marvels as co-starring the FoX-Men, more people probably would've given it a watch. Likewise, if they had some action scenes with Chris Evans in the Cap 4 trailers, people might've been excited. But few people will go watch a movie because word-of-mouth says there's a nifty after-credits scene, just like few are so attached to the Captain America brand that they'll watch it no matter who carries the shield.

women liking tall, buff guys is about as vanilla as it gets. and as for the comparison, it just looks to me like the woman is short?? the top of her head is just shy of level with his shoulder. I'd say he's a little over a foot taller than her, maybe 6'2" with her at 5'1"??

Yeah and as said they tend to be biggest hypocrite seen some wild hypocrisy in my tenure. Also yeah think why no fun in art spaces/crews as they'll betray each other in a sec like that one amphibia artist who had a secret alt for posting suggestive amphibia then someone they trusted exposed them and got them blacklisted
>>151930889
The sad thing is compared to old art groups modern ones seem so toxic and cannibalistic, theirs always someone cancelled by the rest. Or some bs where a relationship drama or someone exposing someone's offensive art or fanart being talked down on etc. It's honestly sad how bad it is in the western art world like they all trying to pull each other down to get a few brownie points
