As soon as I heard that he was making a comic "universe" instead of just a comic, I knew it would be shit. Pretty much any time someone tries to create a big, sprawling series like this it ends up crashing horribly.Unless you're a prolific writer like Isaac Asimov cranking out something almost daily by yourself, you need it to gain enough popularity to get others to do the work for you. And for that to happen you need either a lot of popularity or a lot of money.

Tom King gets handed the cream-of-the-crop artists because of his mom's WB connections.So even when King's stuff itself isn't a total waste of time, it's tough to enjoy once you understand that he himself has nothing valuable to contribute. You can't unsee it.His partnered artists are genuinely talented. Tom King's own artistic contribution is the spiritual equivalent of punching in prompts to an AI.
