Anyone else find the single green squeeze toy alien from the first Toy Story to be an interesting character? On top of the fact that it was dark as fuck to see this innocent, naive toy who suffered delusions of grandeur much like Buzz only to have his faith and body destroyed in much more graphic detail than the space ranger did, my theory is that that there is an alternate timeline where he did, in fact, make it out of Sid's house to join Woody and Buzz.>But his role was to be a red shirt to show off how much of a threat Scud was!>But he would have been an awkward third wheel who would have gotten in the way of Woody and Buzz's development.For the first argument, there is no reason he couldn't serve that role while also becoming a main character. Why is peanuts seen as boring? Sure, it's not a laugh-out-loud comic with Calvin and hobbes but it's never as painfully unfunny as something like Nancy. It has some solid jokes, and even when they don't land, the endearing cast of characters is enough to make you smile.
