>>152129883The actual dumb part of this page isn't the OOC ceiling shotguns, it's Sam's logic of shooting the sheriff when there's another cop there who is a larger threat. Gibbs was the actual problem here and was ready to put her down when all was calm, but then just... doesn't do anything when it escalates twice? It's also got weird framing between the panels because of this choice to shoot the Sheriff instead of Gibbs. The previous page, the Sheriff has his back to Sam, and the next, he's facing her. There's this whole pace disrupting off-panel movement where he turned to face her, got shot, and fell backwards that we miss. And this happens whilst somehow Monica nor the three other cops who are all looking at Sam notice her lifting a gun. Gibbs should be shooting her there, and then again as the shotguns pop out. In fact, Gibb's final position ends up with him pointing the gun AWAY from Sam as things escalate which makes even less sense. Like, how does Gibbs even end up in a situation where his right arm is pointing at the window? He's facing Sam, looks up to the shotguns on the right wall, and when he's shot, he's now facing the left wall with his arm raised and finger on the trigger just so that Chip can also get shot because reasons. Jesus, this page sucks on every level.It would make far more sense and have been better pacing if Sam shoots Gibbs whilst the Sheriff is distracting him, and the Sherriff is the one stun-locked to see one of his men shot in the head in front of him and have all these years of lies hit at once. Have the Sheriff frozen in shock and disbelief, not even noticing the shotguns like his two other men do.
