Why do actors in comic movies get so many repeat gigs?Josh Brolin played Jonah Hex, Thanos, and Cable. Brandon Routh played Superman, Dylan Dog, and Atom. And so on.
>>151863574It is.
>>151850254>Jonah Hex Thats one cool ass name
>>151858957He got cast as Xavier because his work in Star Trek checked the following boxes>naturally bald>refined sounding authority figure>recognisable name for general audiences>typecasting due to Star Trek already made him a name firmly associated with sci-fi (to a degree Stewart had problems finding non-science fiction work afterwards) so casting directors always had him listed when considering people for similar genre projects >Stewart is friends with McKellen because they’re both Shakespearean actors from the UK. Singer had already worked with McKellen in Apt Pupil and that lead to casting him as Magneto, so when considering who to cast as Xavier McKellen would have positive opinions to share about Patrick and McKellen’s involvement in the movie also made it compelling for Stewart to accept the role despite his deep disinterest at the time for acting in more sci-fi schlock
>>151862992>One thing about celebrities is they don't know how to live below their income bracket most the time so they need to constantly take big projects to pay for their lifestyle but something like the Avengers has such a big payout that they can go back to smaller stuff they wanna be in for a bit. While there is some truth to this, it’s more that in Hollywood people only remember you for your last movie and if it made any money. So if you want to be a successful actor with any type of long career as a leading (fe)male you basically have to agree to do big studio projects during the very brief window where you’re considered by the business to be a hot commodity as it quickly goes from every movie desperately wanting you specifically for every new big movie to them now just wanting someone LIKE you, but not you specifically, for their next movie and before you know it you’re forgotten and you have to audition and beg for work. You have to build relationships and make the studio happy by making big blockbuster movies because just pissing off one studio executive or producer can kill or severely damage your career. Look at Harvey Weinstein and how he could sabotage careers for women especially. And if those big tentpoles you make do enough money, not only do you create certain financial security for yourself but it keeps your career alive. That is the way this works. If you end up becoming just an character actor or B-list you basically have to keep accepting any role you can because every year that passes getting new work becomes more and more difficult. Plus it’s pretty expensive to live in L.A. and certain status means you have to project a certain lifestyle to make people think you’re successful and not a has been.

>>151864113youre saying streaming fixed it?
>>151864245No, it's just nickelodeon US has been airing them wrong or something. Here in nick asia, it's labelled correctly (camp chuck being S02E05, basic zipper merging etiquette being S02E01, etc etc). Streaming also follows that order so I'm just using the intended production order to keep things simple.
>>151864449it aired on nick US before streaming right? so the streaming fixed the airing order.but what I also meant is, are you sure? I feel like we had some quibbles before on the precise order based on context clues.

>>151864365Hollywood stopped hiring obviously beautiful and obviously ugly people for different role types, now they seek to hire as close to 4/10 as possible. Gone are the times when you cold recognize the lead man, love interest, comedic sidekick, main henchman and bad guy by sight.
