>>153108248It's the paradox of separating her from the Joker. Her entire character was built around him. Her legal name was chosen to make a clown-related pun. It's a huge part of the iconography of her design and as a character. You can't really separate her from that any more than you can make the Joker permanently just a normal-ass dude. Truthfully, a post-Joker Harley should just be a reformed, ordinary citizen. The Joker is the reason she's involved in capeshit at all, and without him she's just kind of a meandering gremlin, but her continued involvement in capeshit requires her to stay more or less "on brand".
