And it makes me think just a bit about Jade and her relationship to Dave. Less so because of the epilogues which are bad and boring, even if a lot of the ideas they present with jade interest me a bit. But moreso in the main comic, because even in base homestuck a lot of these ideas are present. I.E and most importantly, does Jade even really *know* Dave. In the same way John, Karkat, or Rose does? I would argue not. Ignore the picrel and think back to the pair's conversations together, specifically before and during the game of sburb. What is the most immediate detail one person notices? Jade is very very actively nurturing and allowing for Dave's coolkid persona to exist unchallenged. She plays along with the bit, she knows its a bit, even tells him she knows, but still plays along anyway. No one else who is close to Dave does this for him, not even John, who is basically the nicest guy in the comic, even more than Jade. But Jade is permissive of such a thing because she obviously has a crush on him. But the question is obvious. Is she in love with Dave? Or the *idea* of Dave. Perhaps in a better story, this idea would be confronted directly by both characters, and they would both grow into people more compatible with each other beyond surface level attraction. But of course this is homestuck, and not only does Jade get sidelined but Dave also gets ruined.
