You know I think another problem with Gameoverse is how little it explains its own world.First question: Do all characters in the universe, and not just Kit I mean everyone, KNOW they are in a video game? Kit in the beginning seems to be looking at the world as the character she is, a hero protecting her land. After getting her world destroyed, she seems to be aware of the fact it’s all a game world. Shouldn’t that be a massive existential shock to her? That all her friends, everyone she’s ever known are effectively just assembly code written by middle aged Japanese nerds? Why does characters barely acknowledge this? Another thing, why do some characters get fucking deleted while the protagonist and antagonist seemingly get to stay alive? Are NPCs and side characters just not immune to getting deleted? Who makes the rules and decides who gets deleted or not? Also if they are in a game, are they being played by actual human people? Do they have free will, or do humans playing their game control their every action? Speaking of humans, what role do they play in the Gameoverse? Do they not see all this weird sci fi shit happening? Why don’t they intervene? Also what about games that don’t necessarily have an "end" like say The Sims or Animal Crossing? Are they just safe from getting deleted? The world just raises so many questions. I can’t help but feel this show could’ve gotten away with just being a generic fantasy world with good guys fighting le evil organization that wants to take over the world or something.
