I know this is going to sound gay but I'm a 31 year old man who has watched plenty of sad shows and movies before. This is the first time as an adult I've ever cried watching a piece of media. The Jax scenes really got to me. Yeah I know the finale has got problems but it's the first time in my adult life I've ever gotten really emotional watching something so I'll give it that.

Just got out of my watch in theaters. Fuck I love this show so much. Obviously not the most amazing (ha) ending or satisfying ending of all time but I still loved it. I know how pretentious this is but I think people who hate the main story beats of the ending are just too stupid to understand the message.There's plenty to criticize about the pacing and presentation and some of the lesser details, but when I see people complain about Pomni not helping Jax before he abstracts or about how he got too much of a focus as a character I just think they aren't smart enough to understand what the ending was going for.It is admittedly complicated issues that are being tackled so I don't really blame younger kids for not fully understanding.

My theater experience was pretty good. Completely packed room, but not very many kids. Very minimal reactions except for laughter in appropriate places. I just went to see the movie and I have to say that you guys made it seem like it was so much worse than it actually was. I get Jax abstracting and turning out to be a total bitch sucked but it does make sense for the story Gooseworx was trying to tell.My biggest criticism is that the show should've done a better job at explaining how abstraction works. I think it being either a conscious decision you make or just something that happens to you when you're too fucked up would be really important in what that means for the story.

Caine's presentation was just a waste of time. the only thing they couldn't remember is their names, which he could have just told them. the revelation that their real selves actually somehow got over all their emotional trauma for no reason and are happy basically only serves the purpose of telling the AI clones who can't escape the circus that they definitely can't escape the circus and will all just abstract over their emotional trauma, and so Pomni could continue to call herself Pomni, for merchandising purposes.
I want to cum inside Gangle
Saw the movie an hour ago. There were only one or two cosplayers at my showing. The audience didn't stink and there weren't a lot of kids, though one woman sitting near me did audibly and unnecessarily react to stuff on occasion. The crowd was into it enough to gasp or laugh occasionally, but didn't join in singing Running the Show or anything. Overall, my moviegoing experience wasn't bad, but it wasn't as good as I was hoping.And that's also how I feel about episode 9.
Went and watched the finale in theaters.First, about the experience. More than half of people in attendance were obese, of that an entire family was morbidly obese and were in mobility wheelchairs. There was an extremely autistic man in attendance that spoke at full volume for the entirety of the showing.And, for reasons I can't fathom when Jax's human form was revealed someone called out "he's white!" which was echoed by a few other people and followed with cheers. Similarly when Pomni hugged Hax some said "funnybunny is canon" again folowed by cheers. Of the mivie itself. It was good. Everyone got a happy ending, including Caine. Even Abstract!Jax was shown swimming in the aquarium with Ribbit and Kaufmo. Several fan theories were confirmed, no ships were confirmed but there was a hint of Zooble/Gangle. At the very least suggesting a sexual relationship has started. Jax/Ribbit is all but confirmed and they definitely would have been fucking if Caine allowed it.On that note, the Jaxfag meltdown. Yeah, I can see why they all self destructed. The ending really showed just how much of a massive jackass Jax has been, causing at least two abstractions and if Pomni hadn't found her way into the circus I would bet he'd have caused Ragatha to abstract too. And while Jax does find a measure of happiness in the aquarium he still abstracted leaving him separated from everyone else in the circus save other abstractions. I bet that ending doesn't fit with any Jaxfag headcanon, after all Caine got the redemption that Jaxfags probably thought he deserved. Also the movie straight up confirmed that Pomni had feelings for Gimmigoo. That probably rubbed salt in the wound.Overall the movie was good.
I do get that the point of Jaxstraction was that "some people really are beyond help, if you try to fix them you'll just get yourself hurt". I at least find that relatable since I myself am a hopeless case planning to abstract IRL within a few years or so. But I dunno, I feel loke that's kind of... fucked up? It's just going to encourage people to abandon those who CAN be saved, and furthermore the way the story plays out could really give a suicidal person the idea that "yes, you will be at peace and everyone will be happy once you're gone". I dunno, maybe I'm interpeting it wrong.
