A Storytime for the 2005-2010 webcomic Gorgeous Princess Creamy Beamy, specifically the last 70-80 pages covering the back half of Arc-3.Be sure to reply with quips or comments to keep the thread bumped and keep me sane! The engagement is nice! Also be sure to go and read Thread 1 to catch the first 4/5ths of the story! This is basically the climax! THREAD 1: >>155128363
We're nearly 300 pages deep, again, go read the first thread please if you haven't. It's still up for now so no shame in replying to it either, keeping it bumped helps everyone
>>155134226I'd love to keep helping with bumps, but... sleep.
>>155134206There is something quite genuine about stuff from the early 2000s but I can't describe it.
Mariko from Creamy Beamy has become the UN rep to Japan! Good for her, she always seemed like she was set up for success. And look, it's ole Professor Gokiburi (the male one born in 1923 who invented the flying suit, not the dead female one who's currently in the afterlife as a spider woman) giving his sound scientific advice. Two Flying Suit Reiko references in one page? Stephanie is spoiling us
oh dear
Why oh why did he ever leave East Russian Stereotypia?
Reminder that Reiko's maternal line has a horny curse, so her being super hetero checks out
I love the fact that if it wasn't for Hetero-Rodan being so so so stubbornly Hetero he would have won. They easily could have brainwashed the gays if he just let the same sex of bee sting the obviously uninfected. (Yukiri still would have resisted, but she's one girl and was going to Australia)Feels fitting
Momoka should be glad the comic ended when it did, Steph's long term plan for her was grim. (i'll get back to that
Maybe it's just me, but I swear the artstyle in this last leg (especially in Tsugumi and how her face is drawn) leans a bit more into the IntraGalactic style and less like Muertitos.
I'm doing Intragalactic next Friday
Like I swear Tsugumi is being drawn a bit different
look at those date stamps fly by
And a dingo is enroadkilled just as promised
Her face looks even more different that last page, albeit given how sparse the releases were I see why
And that's the end. Or rather, where it ended. Steph has confirmed this wasn't meant to be the final page (and that in general the back half of this was rushed a bit in terms of page count hence some things being skimmed over like the rebel plotline kinda being abandoned or how quick the conclusion to Yukiri's arc was or broadly how rushed the final fight was against Heterodan).Hell, the outline of her hair almost makes it look like she just got a new super form or something. There are a few details that came out later, plus some bonus stuff which I'll get to, but essentially what happened is>Muertitos and Creamy Beamy ran side by side for years, when Muertitos ended in 2008 the slot was replaced by Intragalatic>But Steph got a couple of deals with SLG to make graphic novels with them which further split her resources>That plus burnout from multiple years of going hard and things fizzled out badly in 2008 and never really got the steam back>The first two arcs took just two years, the last arc took 3>The first 80% of the story was written in 2.5 years, the next 10% took 6 months, the next 10% two years
Steph over the years gave a couple of details in comments, such as>The comment about how Sucrans and Usaginari were related because "meat based life can't evolve on a candy cake planet" (I've never seen this one, just TVtropes cites it from the old forum)>A comment on deviantart that Momoka would continue losing more and more of her body until eventually ending up a brain in a computer ala Lawnmower man.>Cheesecake moves to Wisconsin (this one might have just been referencing Stephanie herself since Cheesecake was a self insert and Steph moved to Wisconsin)And then in 2014 as she was starting up her patreon and more-or-less signaling she wasn't going back to long form webcomics, she released this one page wrap-up comic on deviantart "GPCB: The College Years". How much of this was originally planned or not is long disputed
However, I do have something new for you guys. I had an opportunity about a year ago to briefly talk to Steph about her oldest stuff. For privacy sake I can't directly show anything, but here's a quote.>-like a lot of amateur webcomics back in the day, I mostly did it by the seat of my pants, and it petered out when I got too interested in something else. (The ending wasn't even an abrupt-but-planned ending - I just stopped doing it and never picked it up again.) I didn't have a fully worked-out plan for what was going to happen in the future, either, more just some general directions. And of course it's been a lot time and I've forgotten a lot of the specifics by now, but here's what I've got. Yukiri being an alien was something I was going to do at some point - I think it was less that I dropped concrete clues than that I knew I wanted to do something like that and avoided contradicting it. I believe the long-term plot was going to eventually be about travelling into space and actually going to Sucra and Usaginar, and Banana was going to switch sides or else just retire from things entirely and live on Earth as a human. The only specific storylines I remember was that there was going to be one where Banana went into the Usaginari mating cycle and it would be this incredibly complex and repellant process, and there was also going to be one where one of the Girls of Class became too individualistic and was expelled from the group and had to deal with becoming an actual character. There was also a character (Momoka?) who kept losing body parts and she was going to turn completely robotic over time (or maybe be a brain in a jar.) That's about all I remember!
>>155135265Steph may have once known more, but it's been 15+ years so a lot may have been forgotten forever. But combining this from older statements on deviantart or the Intragalactic site or the 2014 wrapup we can still get quite a bit of new info>1. Yukiri was definitely going to be an alien. That wasn't a "fuck you" gag from the wrap up that was the plan. She doesn't remember leaving anything in there intentionally to hint at it(albeit there's definitely some weird moments like the thing with her dad), but that was going to be a thing.>2. The story would have eventually pivoted to actually going to Sucra to deal with Vanilla(or possibly the actual leader of the Usaginari Homeworld who we never saw in the comic) to free it. That is after all what was set up in the first story. Steph doesn't remember it being a sequel, but she did say something to that effect on the Intragalactic site, that the current arc would be the end of the 'current series' and afterwards she may or may not do a sequel series(this was in, like, 2009). So circa 2009 the plan was that after The Heterosexual Agenda and maybe some epilogues the original story would end and a sequel story covering the space stuff would happen, but it may well have been different before that and intended to go longer before the burnout. >3. There was originally going to be a story arc of Banana getting pregnant and going through a weird alien pregnancy. We sort of see this in the wrap up comic, but she ended up getting too kids for free from Heterodan. I'm not sure if this was intended to be an arc that happened in a future story(her getting pregnant after everything that happened and retiring like the wrap up comic seems to go with) or if the original intent was for that to happen first and Heterodan giving her kids replaced it. I'm leaning towards the former, but it's unclear how that would work if the story moved into space.
While enjoyable, this is the kind of thing that Today's Society would ridicule the Author for having fetishes, sex, and nudes on less than 18y characters. I can't imaging continuing the comic by today's standards.
>>155135323>4. Banana was either going to join Creamy Beamy or retire and settle down. Everything points to the latter so I'm guessing the former was an abandoned idea, end of the actual comic seems to lean into that as does the 2014 wrap up as does Steph's statements so it's that. Whether or not they were gonna have more kids after is less clear.>5. There was gonna be a story arc about one of the Girls of the Class becoming too much of an individual and getting kicked out and having to learn to be their own person and thus being a new character in the cast. I don't have much to add here as there's nothing else on this anywhere, other than it's really unclear where this would have fit. Was it a scrapped idea from earlier in the story, would the space stuff have still left room for stories on earth somehow, was there gonna be more earth arcs originally(the Intragalactic comment says no).>6. Steph reconfirmed Momokas planned fate. I don't have the original comment anymore from deviantart, but I think it was going to be head in a jar and THEN full brain in a computer. But I could be wrong and Steph wasn't sure.>(Not GPCB, but Lafcadio sounds like Bender and Swamp Opossum was never posted online in full we also learned that.) Hopefully those final remaining info nuggets are pleasant to all of you. I'm gonna dump some bonus art and then call it a night, I'll post fanart tomorrow if the thread survives
Here's what was used on the SSakurai deviantart pfp up until the day Steph retired. (albeit in practice way more zoomed in and she might have switched at some point to a cropped version of a different one)
Another Cheesecake
3D Model of Creamy Beamy
And one of the beegirls (models were never released)

>>155135362and Cheesecake is a self-insert? Definitely not flying today.
It definitely suffers a bit from running out of time. A 420 word version of this would have been complete feeling. A 600 page version would be perfect.

>>155135200>But Steph got a couple of deals with SLG to make graphic novels with them which further split her resourcesI actually bought one of these. No idea where it is now. It was about a little fairy or pixie character. Extremely funny but only a tiny bit of fetish content which feels like kind of a waste of Steph's talents.

As much as I have bone deep nostalgia for Muertitos, this is yet another reason it wouldn't fly now>yes, come to my comics website where the fat horny 16yo schoolgirl is giving you bedroom eyesDid it work on me at the time like hotcakes? >>155135200The boomerang in the hair... Unparalleled talent for visual gags
When I first read these this one was my fav. I still mostly maintain my old opinions on Intragalactic, it’s fighting for third place with Reiko, but I think I’ve officially as of last year switched to preferring Muertitos. It has more variety and an even higher gag a panel density. Not to mention I have to admit this comic has some issues>Yukiri is supposed to be Tsugumi’s best friend and yet they only interact 4 times. At the very start, at the start of Arc 2, again when she gets back to the group, and at the end of Arc 2 when they fight. She spends most of the first story lobotomized, gets tossed out the bus, by the time she gets back it’s almost time for the monster fight, and then they fight again. I feel like if we had an extra arc or two before the conclusion this would be fixed>In the same veign theres some other issues with pacing and set up. We never go back to the school after the first story, so Tsugumi’s whole “school girl balancing a double life” thing that is the whole premise kind of fades(Reiko did that better). We only see her mom in a brief cameo after Arc 1 despite her seemingly being a major character. The whole plot of “X is tricking Tsugumi into fattening herself up and sh”e’ll eventually realize he’s lying about her losing weight” never gets a payoff and we never really see him “providing Cheesecake resources and funding” to do it either, again more stories in the middle would have helped.>Obviously the back half of the finale was rushed and didn’t conclude properly, and we never got the following stories of actually going to space and liberating Sucra, defeating Vanilla and possibly fighting on the Usagi Homeworld(Vanilla did mention a head of homeworld security plan invasion)Muertitos also has a few nitpicks (it really feels like Steph ran out of things for Ankhmutes to do in the back half and kind of stopped using her), but it not being narrative driven and having a proper finale pushes it ahead for me.

I'm only posting the GPCB stuff, not the Muertitos stuff(unless you guys really want it since I never got the chance to post it there). This was all stored on a special part of the Flying Suit Reiko site, the last new art was added in late 2008 and it went down around April 2010 when the Flying Suit Reiko site died.
>Creamy Beamy, by Reepicheep-chan. Looks like just after she got out of the crater.
>X. and Cheesecake, by Reepicheep-chan. Cheesecake is HOT in this one.
>Banana and Chintarou, by Reepicheep-chan. You know they totally do this.
>Nosebleed, by Reepicheep-Chan. This is a really sexy X. It's no wonder Tsugumi's got a nosebleed.Nobody bothered to archive this one until too late. If someone has it come forward
>Yukiri, by Reepicheep-Chan. Abother picture of Yukiri, yummy yummy freckles! Again, not archived. These aren't nearly as high priority as the official stuff (namely the 2004 Reiko issue and the missing 3 and a half pages of the original Muertitos), but if anyone has them it would be cool to find since it WAS on the site
>Creamy Beamy cast, by Mike Rosen of The Fantastical Bestiary. Here's a version in color. Both are missing
>Cheesecake, by NJ Huff of Emergency Exit Comics. Awesome picture of Cheesecake with Tsugumi and Creamy Beamy dolls.
>Creamy Beamy, by NJ Huff. Look, she has a matching bra!Missing
>Creamy Beamy, with spoon, by Xyxtlin. I like the hair and the ruffles.Missing
>The girls of the class, by Edgeling, whose Deviantart site with many more pictures of girls and slimy things is right here.Missing on the site, but still up on deviantart
>GPCB Cast, by Edgeling. AWESOME!This one is neither on the site nor up on deviantart, but it USED to be on DA. I don't have the raw file anymore I think it was on another PC, but I believe it's archived on desu somewhere but I can't find it His Muertitos one is still up, but the phrasing implies two other art pieces came before it and neither is up anymore. https://www.deviantart.com/chronorin/art/Muertitos-69691485 so someone might wanna archive dive for that
>Cheesecake, by CJ Burgundy, of the (under construction at time of writing) site Burgundy Comics. A cute picture of Cheesecake!Missing, and that's all the fanart from when this was actually coming out that I can find.
Found it on the 2022 thread. I'm not sure how good the quality is as it's not a master copy, but here>>155141012
>>155135475But wait, I've actually got 3 more pieces of OFFICIAL art that were commissioned in 2011. I didn't know about them until last year or so (and I'm also in the process of updating my file archives so everything is in one place) >Tsugumi Sato: Fridge Raider by Steph Cherrywell Commissioned by the sublime :iconssakurai:. This is Tsugumi, the heroine of Sakurai's "Gorgeous Princess Creamy Beamy" doing what she does best. Of course, she's just powering up for her next Magic Girl knock-down drag-out. Right?
>>155141144>Creamy Beamy: More from :iconssakurai: from his sublime but unfortunately discontinued webcomic, Gorgeous Princess Creamy Beamy.>Either Tsugumi just finished another cholesterol-soaked battle with another Usaginari menace, or she just polished off a whole order of sweet potato fries.>...you kind of had to be there.
>Thank You Come Again by Steph Cherrywell>Another amazing piece by:iconssakurai: of Tsugumi from his erstwhile webcomic, "Gorgeous Princess Creamy Beamy". I came across the panties she's wearing on Torrid.com a while back, and thought they'd be Tsugumi's style! (The front, by the way, says "Thank You")(The fact that the ones made in late 2011 seem to think the comic could come back while the one made in early 2012 calls it discontinued makes me wonder if Steph held out hope for a bit of going back to GPCB and only officially gave up in early 2012, maybe there's a statement somewhere I missed)
That's everything Steph drew and all the surviving fanart that was featured on the site. There is some newer fan art by modern fans, but that's a bit harder to deal with so I'll do that later today if the thread is up. I might also post pages in Steph's other comics that reference GPCB
This page of Muertitos has Princess Creamy Beamy. (If you want context, the comic took a break for 3 weeks and to kill time Steph dumped the first 10 pages of a scrapped comic idea called No Boom. Some of the ideas from No Boom worked their way into GPCB while others ended up being used in The Death/Hulamutt Power Hour)
So is the artist of this comic still around?
>>155141322This one set far in the future has a Succubus version of Cheesecake living in the afterlife (looks kind of similar to her shoulder demon)
>>155141335Cheesecake (along with Pepper Penwell and Pele from Muertitos) cameo on this page of Widgey Q Butterfluff
>>155141378And this page of Widgey Q Butterfluff has a Creamy Beamy doll on the floor plus a Captain Glee poster on the wall(I'll do her comic next week).
>>155141393Oh and Widgey's mailbox in this scrapped page is Creamy Beamy's hat. That is every single reference to it in Steph's other comics, so that's it until later tonight when I'll post all the modern fanart I can find.
>>155141326She retired from doing online art in 2024(funnily enough deleting her deviantart during the 2024 storytime of this very comic), but she gave 6 months notice so people had time to archive everything. A very long career she had. she started posting stuff online in 1998.
You couldn't make a comic like this today. Everyone would know its true intention.
>>155141413it seems like she's still around but writing novels now.
>>155141432You say that like its true intention was hidden in the slightest.
>>155139487I mean Muertitos makes fun of old christian PSAs (Thanksgiving Hell House and The Bad Cookie) and those are still funny
>>155135216My gut instinct theory for this has always been>Yukiri was gonna be one of those Usaginarian princess babies who had been sent out in previous wars>She always wore that bandana because the ties looked like rabbit ears and subconciosuly she craved that

Plus it's very heartwarming to think of how hard the artist worked to get these little nods in there and even so many years later, their effort there is being noticed.
>>155141795>(Isn't Red Stephie who Potchari was cosplaying in that costume party in FSR?)Yep, one of Crushed's (the catgirl on Shige's plane) party members.
Found one from 2010 by King Monster>Taking a page from :iconedgeling:'s book and decided to draw my take on :iconssakurai:'s character, The Girls of the Class from her Gorgeous Princess Creamy Beamy comic. Though, they seem to show individuality here, they're always ready to follow the head...er...head's way. Kinda' like a cool slime-y hive mind.

>>155141948She stopped updating that the same day she shut down the deviantart. (And once enough time has passed hopefully someone uploads an archive of all of that, kemmono broke all the pre-2019 art completely). She has three patreon comics that are longer than 50 pages (Sensible Girl, Uninvited Ghosts, and a third one) that I might storytime someday when that happens. >>155141989>updates have ceasedDamn. So it really is over. That's a shame, I was really hoping there would be a secret holdout of Steph art still rolling along somewhere. Definitely would appreciate a storytime of any of the Patreon stuff, I think I only caught that one with the two girls who talk to a holographic goddess who blesses them with their power. At least Steph bowed out at the top of their game and didn't go into weird catatonia like the artist of Armless Theo.
>>155142156She gave months of notice and basically said she was just waiting to finish her last patreon comic before calling it quits. Literally the very same day that comic finished(which was the same day of the 2024 storytime) she deleted the deviantart. Intragalactic's site had already gone defunct sometime in 2020 and Reiko's site in April 2010. Creamy Beamy and Muertitos are safe as long as ComicsGenesis doesn't go down forever (which almost happened last December it was dowe for months)
Something that's not Creamy Beamy related, but I feel like I have to mention before I forget is this piece of art I downloaded from her deviantart before it went down. Recognize her? I didn't until this year by my stupid stupid ass

>>155143225>Benjamin Glee time has arrivedHell. Yes.
>>155147350it's from Ms. /co/, people have been trying to get Cheesecake to qualify as a bit for years. The next one will be September 5th-6th
>>155147364Steph is still thin to this day, and more importantly the description on her art of Cheesecake on deviantart basically had her saying "This is basically my base desires if they were a person without restraint". It's definitely the latter. (albeit that page seemingly wasn't on the Wayback so that plus my testimony of her deviantart comments will have to go off memory....fuck why wasn't that archived...guess I should have done that..I mean I saved the art, but not the page)
>>155147444Funnily enough there's two versions of IntraGalactic. The version you could actually read on the website which I used in my early storytimes, and the raw master files which are way bigger and higher resoltuon that Steph released a couple of years ago(except the last few pages near the end which she lost so those are the same as the website ones). There are a few pages where the master work copy has different text than the website one, let me cite an example I noticed
>>155147613Here's this page from the high resolution copy of IntraGalactic steph released
>>155147635And here's the version from my archives that was actually up on the website. Note the dialogue change in the bottom right, I guess Steph decided the one in the master draft wasn't "Piper" enough and tweaked it at the last moment (I guess the website version is the 'canon' one)
Quite happy the thread's have stayed up. This is already by most metrics the most successful storytime we've ever had, beating the activity record set by the original one and the total replies count. It hasn't lasted as long as the 2024 one yet though, it took nearly 72 hours after the storytime ended for that to archive. Maybe.....longer this lasts the more people read it and the more people show up for IntraGalactic(which despite being shorter is always hell to do because every single page has text under it which introduces a lot more effort and room for error not to mention again the website version is not the same as the masters Steph released there are a few tweaks)
>>155140356To add to this shortlist, I get the feeling Steph regretted having X and Tsugumi immediately figure out Banana was the new teacher, because Tsugumi basically completely forgets and does nothing with the info in future arcs(and several times just forgets completely). I think it would have been better holding off on that. On the same front Banana seems to forget that Creamy Beamy has to be someone in that exact class room and doesn't look into that matter later
Bump, last bump of the night. If the thread survives maybe there will be more tomorrow to discuss (I could probably dig up some greentexts), otherwise see you for IntraGalactic
