I got into the AI chatbot stuff maybe a year and a half ago with sillytavern and claude I think, and it was pretty good. How does your setup compare?

It's not going to be anywhere near Claude-level though. I think the hard part is not getting it working but getting it to work well, a lot of people use bad prompt formats or jailbreaks with tons of gimmick crap in them. I try to look at the prompts it's sending and check that they're reasonable. After tweaking, I find it to work better than the golden era of c.ai which is enough for me. The one nice thing local has is that finetuned models need less jailbreaking, and things like XTC sampling can remove all the annoying cliches and spine shivers. Claude with XTC would be mind-blowing, but it'll never happen.
