Is there any credence to the claim that BI is reformulated?
>>18290058Noooooo, este perfume ha sido reformulado. Todavía no tiene ni 2 años y ya lo han estropeado con una reformulación. ¿Quién, te preguntarás? Esos pequeños y astutos judíos que despliegan equipos de químicos maliciosos. En este mundo de ruinas humanas, los judíos no pueden permitir que exista algo puro. Deben corromperlo y profanarlo para arruinar el disfrute de todos.

>>18290136I already picked Le Male. Weather will be 24°C top so it suits better. A shame since I will be out for twelve hours straight and will have to reapply because performance is doodoo.
>>18290148thats the problen, its too hot for le male IME, its more of a 15C or lower scent whereas now you shouldve gone for Irish leather because the juniper and tonka aromatics benefit from the heat for releasing their scent
>dozens of samples and bottles later, still haven't found the scent I want to be wearing foreverAt best I've found stuff that's 8/10, but never anything perfect. I suspect I never will, right?
>>18290199A shame you're not familiar with Tobacco Oud by Tom Ford. Tuscan Leather is a great second place.
>>18290205Oud Wood is nice but not a 10/10. Ombre Leather is a 6/10 for me, I dislike the drydown. Haven't tried TO or TL though.
>>18290222TL is the same leather as in OL but without the feminine twist of the white florals. The saffron and raspberry give it a masculine boss man elegant twist. I wear TL and Rosendo Mateu 5 whenever I go to the strip club.
>>18290013Today I changed my mind about fragrances. I don't think that they're stupid anymore. While I was returning home, a girl passed by and she smelled intensely, furiously, majestically and aggressively sweet! I didn't even see her face ( which is the most important thing in a woman) and I instantly went crazy for her! ( probably her pantyhose helped too, but I can't know for sure). She made my day! FROM SMELL ONLY! IT WAS SO INTENSELY AND AGGRESSIVELY SWEET!

>>18290246kind of sounds like Baccarat Rouge 540. weird concentrated caramel medicinal cotton candy agressive shit
>>18290371I have no idea what it was. You could be right, but I can't say for sure it was caramel or something medicinal or cotton candy. I think it was vanilla, because I've smelled vanilla before, but I really can't describe the smell further
>>18290302When in doubt, always go for Sneed Aventus
>>18290302BDCSauvage would get grating to me and I've never smelled actual Amogus, but the clones have been hit or miss to me
I want to steal fragrances, because they are expensive and I don't want to waste hard earned money on them. Does anyone relate? Has anyone done it?
>>18290302Atreyus is easily the best of these.
>>18290394you'll want to try a social media platform with a more 'vibrant' userbase for advice on lifting fragrances
>>18290394Niche perfume stores usually have less advanced security measures (if they have any at all). Just pretend you're interested, sample a couple of frags and then grab a bunch and run out.
>>18290401Ok. Do you want to though? Not necessarily steal them yourself from the store, but freely obtain stolen fragrances.
>>18290403Less security doesn't mean no security. I could go to prison for life
>>18290405That sucks. You should move to California where you can do that sort of stuff legally.
>>18290411far too late for that bro. The local shops locked everything away and only leave out tester bottles with 2% juice remaining.
>>18290394I've heard of people scamming amazon on perfume returns (replace perfume with water or cheap clone). not sure if it actually works though
>>18290363Don't you enough blue fragrances tho?
Gourmands for women and blue fragrances for men. Why are mainstream perfume trends so trash right now?
SOTD Guerlain Vetiver ParfumAnyone else increase their number of sprays over time? I started out with 2 sprays, one on each side of the neck. Now I do 5 sprays. One on each side of the neck, one on the back of each of my hands, and then one on my shirt near my neckline.
>>18290436I do 8-12 sprays
>>18290432I don't really follow what women wear, but I feel like Blue isn't as trendy anymore. Obviously lots of people still wear them and I think Sauvage is still the most popular fragrance, but I feel like others get the most attention. One of my friends, who doesn't wear fragrance, just got a fragrance as a gift for his birthday from one of his more fashion conscious friends. He gave him the new Versace Eros Energy.
>>18290436How does the parfum compare to the edt? I tried the TF vetiver and im super interested in the guerlain
I think I've grown out of fougeres.
Has anyone tried pic related? Is it better than the EDP?
>>18290447The Parfum still smells similar to the EDT, but it is softer and a bit rounder. There is a juniper note in the Parfum which seems to lower some of the peaks of the opening citrus note of the EDT which are a bit too powerful for my liking. The dry down is similar though. I feel like the Parfum is probably a safer choice for most audiences than the EDT, but I there are definitely those that prefer the EDT.
>>18290398>>18290376Is Aventus really worth getting nowadays? I hear so much bad stuff about performance
>>18290447Parfum is sweeter with an ambery base, smokier, less citrusy and with some juniperI still prefer the EDT, it seems more nuanced to me and it's better in the summer. but the Parfum is not a bad flanker
>>18290447GV EDT is like Grey Vetiver's rugged uncle
>>18290432Aventusverse fragrances are taking over the market. Aventus is technically a chipre. I'd never wear either of those. For me? Leathers and gourmands.
>>18290476What's your favorite leather fragrance? Fahrenheit is the only proper leather I like. Most of them smell too stuffy.

After lurking a couple of threads I take it you guys are hugely into cocks?
>>18290563I mean there are a few gay anons. But most are straight. Some sadly so, like that forever alone Mowgli poster who threw himself into developing a pseudo-identity by acting like a fragrance elitist. He can give a dozen different reasons why one fragrance is amazingly better than another but can't provide a single one about why a girl likes nuzzling her head on her boyfriend's chest.

>>18291277TF Tobacco Oud is my favorite tobacco-forward fragrance. Unfortunately it's being discontinued by Estee Lauder (like Plum Japonois) in favor of all the recent TF slop.
>>18291285Try Rhinoceros. The tobacco note is the longest lasting I've ever encountered, and it has oud as well.

>>18292836>>18292944A City On Fire would be a better smoky fragrance than AWoWC by IA. You could also look at Firewater.
Does anyone know if Fougere d'Argent is discontinued? I asked on TF customer website and the rep "couldn't confirm or deny" is this some bullshit to make me want to go out and buy the last bottle available at the shop?
>>18292845Tonnerre is fucking amazing, not nearly as outrageous as online imbeicles make it out to be

Yatagan is hard as hell to find around here so i am still missing out.
Went to another retailer to check shit out:Givenchy Gentleman reformulated is fucking good, in simple it's like a smoky Aramis but goes to different places, the rose comes as very green due to being in the middle of the citruses, honey is kinda sweet and not pissy, powdery patchouli leather and the dry woods give a very smoky tone like having a slight feint of tobacco smoke on your skin, despite being modern the oakmoss is very apparent like 00's-era Aramis. Great stuff, nothing like the fuckboy twink smell that is the iris remake of Gentleman.Chanel's old line is underrated even when reformulated, Pour Monsieur is a very very crisp and humid take on the 50's and 60's tart citric juices with soft aromatics, Anteaus is a more smoky rosy take on the aldehydic Kouros school but without the big contrast of clean and dirty, having a very slightly animalic leather instead of the civet pissy ghost of the YSL juice. Egoiste is a sweet floral tobacco scent in which i couldn't find the animalic drydown some dislike but i also couldn't smell the woody notes, still pretty classy. Platinum is a massively crisp initial blast, one of the best with soft citruses and cut grass greenness, but drydown's rather disappointing for me because i know Eau de Grey Flannel very well and it smells like cheap wood with very synthetic citrus, except Eau doesn't have the gorgeous blast from PE. Was too nose blind to try Allure Homme. Polge was a master.Bottle caps all suck major ass have to say.D&G sucks in terms of performance but their concept until the mid 10's was pretty interesting, a soft man with strong quality ingredients.Tumi frags are pretty good and compliment magnets, generic as fuck but don't smell overly synthetic and have a bit more depth than usual for contemporary stuff. Bottles are very nice, caps in particular, but the performance do not reflect their retarded names: Extrait de parfums. Still 6 hours at minimum, performed the same as G-chy's Gentleman.
Valentino BIR newer batches have way less violet leaf note than before, making it even more generic. Traveler's bottle is still classy as fuck.Narciso Rodriguez stuff is now being phased to the back of the shelves for some reason, testers are hidden and the stuff for men is somewhat unpopular due to the heavy rose notes or being generic. Long gone are the days of the mineral fougere OG For Men, the woman stuff is still sold OK but i was told it's always from the same clients.Ferragamo Leather line smells different in every store.Montblanc Legend EDP has been superior to A&F Fierce since the former's inceptionCK One Essence is a generic as hell release but features a very old school accord: Dry earthy petitgrain. Worth a sniff, very slight dry musk too, much more male leaning than regular One.Azzaro The Most Wanted Intense is a confusing name for a confusing series of frags, it is a confusing scent if you somewhat make sense of what those series are supposed to be. It's a boozy aromatic freshy for men, very slightly sweet but not like others from these series, generic as fuck too but well made like the Tumi's and honestly wouldn't be out of place in the early 10's or late-00's. Italian citrus with lavender, geranium, mossy wood and the undertone of booze without being the common whiff of alcohol. Along with Wanted Tonic this is the most usable of all those revolver bottles.Marc Jacobs Perfect Daisy EDT is probably the very best ozonic freshy for women around, very clean transparent green. Sniffed the hell out of it, as good as the original Daisy which i find great too for young girls.Lancome is pretty good too but for more bitchy stronger women, Poeme is damn good but i don't recall its performance. O is almost as good but feels like it needs a stronger base, oakmoss would do wonders there with its aromatic citrus bomb. Was too nose blind for Tresor and La Vie est Belle, Poeme got me good.

I dislike them, OG For Men was a triumph even if heavily reformulated, vintage was probably one of the best in the 00's.

>>18293534>Bergamot, Violet and WoodThe DNA of manly men, problem is white violet can mean a lot of things and doesn't specify if it is the note of the flower or the leaf, also amber wood is quite generic too, it implies a warmness but not what type of wood. You have to be more specific with how it smells

>Oud Wood>Noir Extreme Parfum>Bois Imperial>Kenzo Homme EDP>Dior Homme IntenseCould you recommend something else based on what I already have? I've been looking for the perfect frag for ages but I don't think I'll ever find it, there are some memes like Bal d'Afrique and Santal 33 I haven't tried yet but I'm wondering if I should just keep these and stop buying new frags altogether
>>18293822>Santal 33Just get Kenzo Home EDT Intense
>>18293651>>18293654it smells more like pear to me. But I agree with the overall greenness of the scent. I really like the scent. It feels like a great fragrance to wear in warm or hot weather. It has the scent of walking in to a garden or greenhouse, like herbs and fruit rather than flower. My main complaint with H24 is that great fresh green scent only lasts like an hour or hour and a half for me.
>>18293825It's mediocre, EDP is better as far as aquatics go. Haven't tried the more "realistic" ones like Megamare or Acqua di Sale but I don't know if they're worth it anyway.
>>18293822You have a good selection as is. I wouldn't say not buy any new fragrances, but I would be choosier and only pick up a new fragrance if you really, really enjoy it. I would recommend looking at Guerlain Vetiver, both EDT and EDP, as well as Guerlain Heritage. While more expensive than before, both are still reasonably priced given the quality of the fragrances and the reputation of the house.
>>18293844I'll take a look at those, thanks.>be choosier and only pick up a new fragrance if you really, really enjoy itThat's the issue, nothing I try is THAT good, and I've sampled a lot of stuff.
>>18293856>That's the issue, nothing I try is THAT good, and I've sampled a lot of stuff.meh I wouldn't spend the money then. If you pick something up you simply kind of like then you might be chasing that feeling of getting something new, which is just fleeting, rather than the actual experience of wearing the fragrance. I wouldn't get a fragrance unless I liked it enough so even when I am putting it on months and months or even a year or two later it still feels really nice and special to wear it.
>>18293867You're right, I'll stop wasting money on samples, it's not worth it.
>>18293856well the thing is that sampling fragrances on paper vs testing it on skin is very different. people usually only exeprience the opening, and even then your skin might react differently.but if you're looking to expland, maybe look into a rotation or be more specific in the use case of the perfume (i.e. office, date night, spring vs fall, etc.)
>>18293871Oh no I meant ordering samples and trying them out on skin a few times. I don't trust paper sampling.I got all use cases covered I think, at this point it's just about enjoying scents, but to be honest I can't even really recall the last frag I sampled that really impressed me.
>>18293874ah in that case, save your money. i rarely buy samples, but im lucky enough to have niche perfume stores to try stuff for free.you have a list of what you've tried? curious to see what you've tried up to now
>>18293878>you have a list of what you've triedLoads of stuff honestly. As I said above there's some well known frags I still haven't tried but I got most of the classics already, and some other lesser-known things
>>18293166I didn't cop ID when I had the chance but the more I've gone through my sample, the more it's grown on me.. I'd certainly be on the lookout for it.
i want to blind buy some frags.thinking of copping Guerlain Vetiver EDT and Chopard Oud Malaki.should i pull the trigger?
>>18293856>I've sampled a lot of stuff.how much? people who haven't sampled 4 digits shouldn't be allowed to post itt
Just got into mixing Armani Code EDP and Burberry Touch EDT on days out - I've never received more compliments in my life. 2 spritz Armani on wrists and rub together;4 spritz Armani on neck, 2 spritz Burberry over it.This shit works wonders.

>>18293902Don't blind buy. I haven't tried the other one, but I have tried Guerlain Vetiver EDT. It has a very sharp opening citrus note, and Vetiver itself is hit or miss for a lot of people. I would try both the Vetiver EDT and the EDP. While I thought the EDT was ok I really did like the EDP and bought that. It has a much softer and rounder scent profile. But I do think that having a Vetiver-featuring scent is good for a collection.
