Continuing with anon from the last thread regarding Rogue>>18370213My favorite three were Bon Monsieur, Targhee, and Vert. The first one because I love Drakkar Noir unironically, and it smells kinda similar, but better. The third because I just love woody-leathery combos, and Targhee is a special one for me. I used to work in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest, so it's very nostalgic and reminds me of better, wilder days. Never found another perfume that really captures that sagebrush and junie.

torn between fils de joie or fleurs d'oranger from lutens for an extremely cheap blind buy. has anyone tried either? I love dirty and heavy white florals and while fils de joie seems more in line with my tastes, the cumin note in the latter makes it tempting

>>18370351I have the discovery set which indludes Fleurs d'Oranger. It's a pretty nice neroli although it leans feminine imo. Sounds like you should get it and you probably wouldn't be disappointed.
>>18370318>>18370323>StopLikingThingsIDon’tLike.jpg>>18370326Glad you could find something with such a deep connection Anon, mine aren’t nearly as sentimental. Mousse Illuminee is my favorite by far, I just really enjoy the pseudo green smoke feel I get from it as it progresses to an embery moss scent and the grapey background. Both of the Derviches are the next two in line simply because I’m a sucker for sweet scents over most things, but I’d pick Bon Monsieur and Tabac Vert next. Derviche II reminds me a lot of The Most Wanted line though, which I own Parfum, so it would feel a bit redundant. I was surprised Targhee Forest was as floral as it was.

realized i still had this unopened. mellow frankincense, a hint of black pepper – nothing groundbreaking, but i like it. like a warm embrace from an old friend.
>>18370485>Eau d'Orange Verteorange is prominent. similar dark rindy orange in a green context to Terre, though the rest of the fragrance is not too similar. the Eau is more soapy and refreshing with a classic light citrus aromatic / cologne hybrid feel, and it doesn't have any of the spice, Iso E, vetiver or weird mineral notesI think Verte is a great and timeless fragrance, though it does perform like an eau de cologne, which is what it is. Terre was probably riffing on it slightly, but they are different enough to both be worth owning, Terre as more of a whole year wear and Verte as a refreshing EDC

I tried all the big fragrance sellers at the Mall of America and none have sample bottles. Does anyone know of ones in the twin cities that do? Or should I just bring some of my own bottles and spray some in there? Also, what are the best online stores that sell sample sizes and are based in the US?
>>18370398it's happened twice. once with body kouros, second time with guerlain homme l'eau.
>>18370566>bringing sample bottles to steal from store testerslol, lmao. don't do that. nordstrom will generally give you a small spray bottle of anything, but only if you look like you might actually buy something. the sales associates get commission, so if you buy stuff from them they will be happy to hook you up.uh, i've used perfumed court and luckyscent. both were fine. going to try scent split next time.

>>18370571Thanks for the advice, maybe I should wear my nice jacket next time. I ordered some samples, if I like them enough to get a bottle I'll try this next time. Or maybe I was just unlucky and got a cunty sales rep, who knows

kind of related. I'm trying NoFap and Semen Retention, I'm on day 35. Now my balls have this really musky and animalic scent, it doesn't smell bad but it feels like I'm wearing Kouros or Antaeus on my balls.

>>18370812I have Egoiste, but I have never tried Platinum Egoiste. Is it a boring fresh fougere?
>>18370810Yes, you should definitely buy Pour un Homme, Le 3ème Homme, and Yatagan. Can't go wrong.
>>18370977>Is it a boring fresh fougere?yes. it's like a better, less synthetic version of CK Eternity with a sandalwood base. well done, but nothing too out thereit kind of marks the beginning of Chanel "selling out" and making very safe, inoffensive modern fragrances only (at least in their main men's line)
Does the parfum version of Defy have the same "soapy" after-scent as the cologne?
Anyone tried Caron Pour Un Homme Le Matin?

>>18371168The note breakdown reminds me of Kenzo Homme Marine but with patchouli in the base to give a 'dark' feel. I guess if you like it then that's all that matters, but I absolutely wouldn't without first getting a sample and wearing it for at least a week. 145 pounds for a 50 mil is fucking steep.
>>18371168it's nice. i liked it when i sampled it. if i were to get a dark marine frag, it's either that one or megamare
>>18371153it smells like cocaine and leather. might be too high test for you
I bought New York Intense. What am in for?
>>18371184the scent of losers posturing as winners
Im wearing Tom Ford's Extreme Noir. I don't really care for it, honestly.
>>18371183The cocaine note was reformulated out long ago. If you smell coke, you are imagining it. If you even know what coke smells like. It's just a raspberry and new, clean leather perfume and is much too sweet and feminine for me. Smells ok on a woman though.
>>18370977>Is it a boring fresh fougere? No it's not boring at all and stands out apart from all other fragrances in the genre with it's super crisp metallic heart, and the performance absolutely mogs just about every other 'barbershop' fougere on the market.
I've gone nose blind to my winter daily (Polo) and now I'm bored of it but I also know I love what it smells like on me. What do
Are Chanel all Les Exclusifs feminine?
>>18371217Switch it up, assholeYou DO have more than 1 winter fragrance, right?
>>18371221No. Sycomore isn't feminine, but it is weak and boring.
Are there any good gourmands? Like, at all? I've come to loathe every single one I've ever worn.
>>18371217Boss Bottled Absolu>>18371226No, I hate them.
>>18371226Guerlain's SDV is okay. So is Diptyque's Eau Duelle. Both are more just vanillas than true gourmands.Zaharoff's Signature Aurum is meant to smell like baklava and does a good job of it, imo
>>18371224>You DO have more than 1 winter fragrance, right? No, and I see the problem with that now. I don't like the idea of having a bunch of bottles I don't wear so I got my collection down to four.
>>18371226Gourmand is slightly larger than just sweet things. Admittedly it’s mostly sweet things, but there are also coffee gourmands that are popular. I just posted in the last thread about how Five o’Clock au Gingembre is a lightly sweetened ginger candy scent. You could also just dislike gourmands, nothing wrong with that. I hate most fruity scents.
>>18371241Yeah I get that. Unfortunately you go noseblind, as you now know.I like Yatagan for the winter.
