too bad this is overpriced and discontinued. its basically aventus without all the gay fruity notes

That makes sense to me

I have been wearing Kouros all last week too though so that may be why I'm not over impressed with the "power".

2 sprays of Kouros and I could taste it for about 4 hours, but I'm not getting much now from 2sprays of Fahrenheit 6 hours later, i could re apply for the evening but Kouros was a 1 spray per day scent for me.
>>
>>18617920
>innovative and interesting to formulate a frag that's such a throwback
No, not really, it depends more on marketing and such attempts are made quite often.
>it's not nearly as similar to DN as you're making it out to be
The form is the same while perhaps the materials are not, DN is citrusy but uses cheap bergamot rather than bright lime from Sauvage, i find real DN to be way woodier, ambroxan is quite clearly different but you replace that with Dyhidromyrcenol and it's the same effect and in the same places.
Also you are a sodomite-enabler bro, nothing will justify that and i am glad you can enjoy those refined frags for what they are but i am the kind of guy who doesn't want a giant sign over my head that says "pillage me bum".

>>18617966
>some people Legitimately are sensitive to perfumes. It’s just how it is
Call the IFRA police, i don't give a fuck, let them sort it out while i project the oakmoss

>>18618042
>not getting any synth gasy vibes
Fahrenheit was gas vibes coming from violet leaf absolute and methyl heptine carbonate, hence the IFRA raping it because both are heavily restricted so you will probably not smell the turpentine opening unless the bottle is made before 2008.
Demachy reformulated it around those years to make it more wearable in the summer but people hated that because it smelled just like Fahrenheit Cologne and they reformulated it around 2018 again along with Parfum and then yet again around 2021, that small 3-year gap had the last good Fahrenheit batch, it's gassy but also way too much patchouli in the drydown, i like it but i rather have it smell woody and more leathery.
Also they discontinued all the Fahrenheits for summer (Cologne, Summer, Aqua) so now people want the summer wearable ones lol, i know i do.
You can search for Metal Jeans by BH90120 for a cologne-like original DNA.

>>18618049
>fragrance reviewers instead of fragrance marketers
Nowadays it's a very small border dividing them

>>18617882
>>18618061
>>
I am very much disappointed with the direction kouros has unfortunately taken as it appears to be a shadow of its former self. Due to various reasons, I am not at liberty to discuss anything regarding the formula; but rest assured that the olfactory differences between various batches are not the result of overzealous bureaucratic procedures, but instead mostly marketing related. It’s a shame since the original was, at least in my eyes a near perfect fragrance for what it was trying to do.
>>
>>18618084
Don't be a faggot and tell me the last good reformulation date.
>>
>>18618084
>are not the result of overzealous bureaucratic procedures
Buddy half the base is missing in theory, how is that not overzeal. I haven't smelled the newer batches but you would need to move the base too much for it to work normally, the middle and top notes seem to be legal enough.
For starters creating the damp base without fat-heavy moss would need linalool with something ozonic that stays as a base rather than volatilize in the opening, then civetol with the real thing nuances would need some trickery although it can be possible because vintage Kouros didn't really have that much civet.
>mostly marketing related
That i can imagine too, many patchouli frags dialed it down due to younger audiences not liking it but for Kouros to be modern you would need a very drastic reformulation.
>>
>>18618084
The original fragrance wasn’t even what the perfumer wanted. YSL came back to Bourdon after his submission and told him to up the animalis, then did it like 1-2 more times more.
>>

Some people call TdH and Dior Homme Sport 2021 'grandpa' scents but I like that whole profile. Can a man in his 30's pull them off or would it be weird?

Don't worry about that worry about the fact that it's not weird for males in their late 30's or early 40's to be grandparents, you are actually the target demographic
>>
>>18618177
I personally wouldn't but if you already insist on being weird...

>>18618177

>TdH
Chances are half the people will not smell it in the first place due to overuse of IES and other anosmic ingredients. It's a classic and who the hell is the grandpa in the first place, one is from the 2000's and the other is literally from this decade, with the DNA being newer than TdH.
I am appalled the arabs made a dupe (Toro) which doesn't last as long but replaces the IES with another wood synth that seemingly everyone can smell. Same goes for Encre Noir, some people think it's a skin scent that smells like old paper and are surprised when the dupe is actually a strong inky woody vetiver.
>>
>>18618208
It's less the year it was released and more the use of vetiver and astringent citruses.

This is my opinion so far as well, I liked clean and refined frags the most, oldtimer patchouli bombs, fuckboy party scents and kgs of brown sugar drops don't remind me of a decent man. Just as women can wear and look like almost anything and we shrug it off, it is a lot more limited for men - unless you want to let everyone know that you are heavily eccentric, at best.

As a poorfag it is my sad conclusion that I'm liking more and more Creeds, based on samples. Aventus, GIT, Himalaya, OG Vetiver, Viking... They smell simply nice and cool. I have to plan my savings around copping these.

ParfumCorp is the best you can get. You can buy 10ml mini and decant, you won't need much considering how powerful it is and the olfactory fatigue it induces.

Also want to make a comment on Guerlain Vetiver and Sycomore.

Guerlain Vetiver base is Ruh Khus Vetiver from India. Grassy green thick liquid.

Sycomore is Haitian Vetiver, brown thick liquid. It smells 90% like it without the bitter medical note. It's softened and rounded out with florals and other notes.

I bought both oils last year out of curiosity.

I really like it, especially after a few hours. It's kinda funny that this is what generic "men's cologne" smelled like to me as a kid playing with frag. sample vials.
Ramz Silver is something I could wear for outdoor skating, if I wanted to smell like a teenage hockey player (covering up that horrendous polyester hockey stink with cheap cologne)
