i love the cope from poorfags who think dupes are as good as the real thing. do they smell similar? sure but there is a huge difference in quality. something dupes will NEVER be able to accomplish

>>18694487>all fresh stuffI'd expect to at least see something like SWY in a collection like this
I never want to buy a full bottle again I just wanna buy hundreds and hundreds of decants and microdose the entire possible spectrum of fragrances weekly.>>18694468It is cope but so is justifying $300+ frags. There's a multitude of products that can do 90% of the job of a niche frag while costing way less. They are all valid products that can also achieve good indicators in longevity, complexity and silage, so whenever I see someone shitting on the cheapie that smells about the same I also cringe.>>18694487Oh look Nautica Voyage hell yea anon :D

Anyone here tried Ferrari Bright Neroli? I'm looking for something light/cologne style that's good for high heat. Also, what do you guys think about having backup bottles?
will chanel ever make a good fragrance for men ever again?
>>18694566Yeah. Chanel's plans are measured in centuries.

>>18694517Only boomers like Drakkar Noir. I prefer Al-Rehab Dakar.
>>18694602Just buy Imaginary. It's functionally a perfect dupe with the same longevity. That's why Montagne is on the Fragrantica banned list. Why the fuck would you spend $200 on a simple formulation when you can spend $50? The LV name and their strict controls on sales is what demands that price point, not because it's actually a $200 frag.
>>18694494SWYI is very good tho. I've gotten more compliments wearing that than anything else in my collection.
Hi guys new to fragrances and just bought some more samples. I'm realizing that I'm not a big fan of fresh scents because none of them are really doing it for me so far. I live in a hot country, so I've been trying to find ones that I can wear outside in the heat. These are the fresh scents I tested:- Eros Flame (I only like the drydown, but its not that intense)- YSL Y (get a shower gel vibe from this, only smell lemon)- Acqua di Gio Profumo (2024) (I can't smell the incense here and just seems like a normal fresh scent)I also tried a clean scent like Prada L'Homme but it smells like paint. However, I've been liking these:- Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Le Parfum (peefect amount of sweet, not like feminine sweet)- Maison Margeila By The Fireplace (it does smell exactly like burnt marshmallows)Sweet scents I didn't like:- Giorgio Armani SWY Intensely (smells like a rotten apple)- Afnan Supremacy Collector's Edition (just too strong)Out of those I think I will get Le Male Le Parfum. But is it normal for people to wear it on a hot day? I'm still very confused on this whole summer/winter fragrance thing. Is it more just like a guideline and less like a rule that you have to follow? Btw do you guys have any reccomendations based on what I like?
>>18694687The general rule with frags and temps is what happens when they interact with different temps. The vast majority of well regarded frags are Fall/Winter frags, which puts you on the backfoot unless you like fresh scents your whole life. Some pedantic poster is going to swing in and uhm achshually me by posting about greens, or the one of two dozen frags that aren't freshy which have been "approved" to wear year round. Back to the only thing that happens to matter with heat is whether or not the scent becomes, as everyone says, cloying. Cloying scents will never play nice with the heat because they become (to use an analogy) like aerosolized syrup. There are others that would be weird to wear in the heat; think a frag that is meant to emulate a specific winter memory or scenario. Does it make much sense if it's noon in July and you smell like a campfire? Probably not. Then there are day/night frags which are really just meant to signal a mood. Day being more active/professional, night being more intimate. I am not sure how you can stand Le Male Le Parfum in hot weather, personally, but you do you. Le Male, generally speaking though is seen as a Summer line of frags by virtually everyone, just perhaps different times of the summer. Example: Ultra Male is stereotyped as a club fragrance, so it's night time. Le Male is not. Follow? Also, try Eros Citrus. You'll probably like it more than Flame. But, frankly speaking, you haven't really tried any fresh scents at all. That is probably why you're confused. Take a look at the infographics to get some idea of whether to start. I am sure others will chime in with their opinions.
Gay memes aside, what does JPG Le Male smells like?
Thoughts on Versace Dylan Blue?
>>18694687>YSL YPlease tell me you didn't buy that because of "muh Indian smell".
>>18694699I think it's nice and well priced.
Has anyone tried Hermès Eau d’Orange Verte and can comment on its quality? Considering it as an option for summer, traditional cologne-style scents appeal to me and I enjoy bitter / tart smells. Would this be a good choice or can you suggest any alternatives? Thanks :-)

Any green apple frags or good frags from big houses with apple notes that are worth getting? I like the apple notes in Ferrari Black and Triumph of Bacchus, though ToB is peachier.
>>18694687try Versace Blue Jeans, it has a bit in common with the OG Le Male but is fresher and more summery
>>18694697why don't you just try it? it should be available for testing or sampling just about anywhereit's a sweetened oriental fougere. nothing particularly gay by today's standards, but it does have the reputation already
>>18694710it's great, a bit different from other traditional colognes thanks to the prominent orange and somewhat more present green base. I might buy a bottle myself soonit's an EDC though, so don't expect it to last very long
>>18694792Brioni eau de parfum intense is a really nice one. apple with oud and saffroncould also try Un Jardin sur le Toit, it's good but I think it leans feminine
>>18694697Slightly sweet mint lavender vanilla musk. Works well in heat and good longevity. A little toothpastey at the start but settles nicely. Very fresh without being a “freshie”. >SOTD L’eau D’Issey Pour Homme Intense. Very very impressed with this considering it was a discount rack drugstore pickup.
>>18694792Layton and Greenley from PDM. Y EDP can be said to have green apple too
it's going to sounds dumb, but is there an equivalent to Boss Bottled Absolu or Layton but for the summer?
Part of my latest order came in. The Hermes is great. The Spicebomb fixes the reformulation of the original like people say. The Le Beau is the EDP instead of the EDT. I made a mistake there, probably because I was drunk. I think the EDT is significantly better, but eh, I just will use less. The Tuscan Leather will make the GF happy.
>>18694925>>18694925Why can’t you wear Layton in the summer? I get bottled absolu because that’s kind of incensy, but even that I would 100% wear on a summer night depending on the setting. >im really just asking for a really solid masculine frag for the summerI realize that, but I’m not sure someone can help you without a little more to go on. Are you a citrus guy or nah? Maybe Dylan blue or Y edp to stick to easier accessible designers. Both are masculine shower gel types with a lighter vibe.
>>18695004yes, why not?
One of my French relatives who lives in Paris is going to buy De Profundis for me. Should I tell them to ask if they carry the bell jar version? Or would I be too greedy to have them make such a request?
>>18695005Because part of me almost wants to get them to buy several bottles so I can keep one and flip the others since I know how in demand it is.
>>18695007do itat least people can buy it from you without making a trip to Paris
>>18694987i love citrus, white florals, green, aquatic, etc. all things you see in typical summer frags, same thing with blue frags, but i suppose im looking warm spicy that wouldn't be too cloying in the summer heat. the reason im looking for something in that category is to simply be able to branch out from the regular summer/year-round perfumes, you know?

>tried 200+ frags in different forms>only bought like 10% of them>sold or looking to sell 3/4 of that 10%, ended up not liking them after allmight be a me issue at this point
>>18695057Did you find what you were looking for, at least?
>>18695057Same, I like many I find through decants but only find a handful bottle-worthy.
Got a decant of Eros Energy. It smells like cheap Aventus. Wasn't expecting that.
>>18695087I like it more than Aventus. I like it more than Eros.
>>18694453I like "blue" scents but I don't see that listed in any of the starting choices. Would you say blue notes correspond more closely to woody or to citrus?
>>18695090hard to say since they're a blend of woody, citrus and amber. Bleu de Chanel was the one that started the trend so you can look at similar frags to that one (Y edp, Dylan blue, Eros, Sauvage)
>>18695107I appreciate the input! So, if you had to add Bleu de Chanel to the beginner flowchart, how would the arrows relate to your other options? Is Y edp more earthy? Dylan blue more citrus? something like that

>>18695323Rate Encre Noire A L'Extreme? What's the difference between Encre Noire and its flankers?
Thoughts on BI Extrait?
>>18695324A L'Extreme has the added incensy resins. has some element that reminds me of Antaeus. but with none of the animalics of course. it's like the OG Encre Noire with added incense. I personally like it the most from the linethe Sport is lighter, not as smoky, it's a very clean and watery vetiver fragrance with some aquatic notes. it smells nice but the performance seems quite bad on me. it's cheap enough that it can still be a good option though, just spray more than the others
>>18695338i like it, a bit too expensive for my taste desu>>18695319this but with mine ofc>>18695230nice but interestingly enough i like the current bottle more
>>18695338Not a fan of regular BI, but I requested a sample of the extrait since it doesn't come in their discovery kit. I thought it was great, but I wasn't sure if I could be coaxed into spending the money on it.
>>18695367>>18695368People say it's like BI + oud wood, is it true?
>>18695338I like the opening, but it dries down to mostly regular BI and I'm a bit sick of that bug spray smell.
>>18695006If you really want the bell jar version I'd ask for it.You should offer to pay for it though.>>18695057I tried at least twice as much and I only own maybe 12 bottles; I don't think I have any issue, rather I'm very particular about frags.

Should I buy Colonia Futura if I like Colonia, Colonia Essenza, and Colonia Intensa?
>>18695338just get ganymede for the same price>>18695376no, it's BI with more labdanum in the drydown. it's good but redundant and possibly too much. if you want BI plus oud wood try Maison Crivelli Safran Secret, the only good Crivelli frag.
What are some nice fragrances for your room? Niche ones are actually more preferable, and price was I just buy dupes if the og is expensive. Right now looking into smelling like attic or woods type fragrances like Interlude, YSL Babycat dupes.
>>18695412I am paying them for the frag(s). I'm just not going to fly to Paris for a frag because I'm not psychotic.
The most interesting frag I smelled today was Psychedelique, I don't particularly like patchouli but if you do buy yourself a bottle.Iris Pallida was also quite interesting, if only because of the unusual ingredients - they say the orris butter it uses takes six years to mature. To my surprise, Old Fashioned was also quite interesting; it's nicely smoky, vanilla-y without being gourmand, and woody without being significantly dry.I got the chance to try the two concentrations of Encens Suave side by side and I'd say the eaudp is more interesting, more complex in the beginning and more airy at the expense of featuring a bit less incense compared to the rest.
>>18695552psychedelique is pretty good. kind of a rummy chocolate cake if all the chocolate as patchouli. and the rum was labdanum or something? cool effect anyhowextremely strong performance too
>>18695552speaking of incense, i got Encens Roi a few days ago and it's fucking great
>>18695416>best ways to remove bad frags from your skinI was going to tell you to chop your arms off but you probably went straight for the neck and chest. I know you're probably dead by now but next time try soap and water, maybe some baking soda.
>>18695549>I'm just not going to fly to Paris for a fragweak
Got decants of Anelo and Outlands. Outlands is good. Anelo idk, not really a mango fan.
What are good frags to have in the Baltics in June?
>>18695218>Cant find this anywhere in canada. None of the discounters carry iti see it on fragrancenet right now
>>18695687oh yeah, i always forget about them. thanks anon
Got my nose on Mith mystery for him. Same perfumer as aventus. Imagine aventus without smoke or woods and add juniper and a touch of br540. The opening is literally 1 to 1that sparkly pineapple, can't believe how close it is. I'm about to buy a full bottle.
What were they thinking?
>>18695060not looking for anything particular just sniffing around like a k9. found some good stuff at least>>18695080yeah desu at least 50% were ok/alright, and 20% good but not worthy of dedication (sometimes due to price e.g creeds)Btw, selling used perfumes, what's the go to for pricing? Most of my would-be sellers have 1-2ml missing at best, got the box, original frags. I see people listing for half the price of a new one, that's crazy.
>>18695709Its great. You got filtered >>1869571050-75% of retail is common in my experience If youre not selling for less than what Joma or Fragnet would price it at youre just not gonna get anyone to bite unless you're selling something hard to find

As a stand alone bottle, I really loved the old Eau des Baux bottle, it feels like a flask, light, thin, compact, just really well proportioned. >>18695087Yeah it was kind of an odd bird release from Versace because it was a Aventus clone/variant, but was released well after the hype was dying off, and was originally released like… early fall. I like it overall, there were just so many “misses” in regard to its release.
>>18695129There have been a few interesting individual releases, but yeah fragrance as a topic is fairly stagnant at the moment. >>18695709>We need another release to keep the FOMO/keeping up with the Jones’ rolling>>18695710Do a basic amount of research to see what the cheapest option the frag is selling for on discounters (tester, no box, etc.) and knock 10-20% off that. Be aware though, I heard recently that eBay (not sure about other market places) have banned the selling of opened/used frags, even if it’s like 2 sprays.

anyone have strong opinions on pic related? I’ve mostly ignored the stuff marketed to younger men, but I smelled the blue one on a whim the other day and really liked it. Wondering if there’s any other sneaky good flankers in that sort of younger, designer space (paco rabanne, CH, etc).
What will happen?
Has anyone tried Fragrances of Ireland Patrick?
I work in a busy kitchen. Y'all gotten any compliments from colleagues wearing any particular scent? -- I'm not really looking to attract a coworker necessarily, I'm just curious, that's all.Have any of you attracted someone with a scent whilst being ugly? -- I'm not ugly, just wondering.
>>18696094I’ve gotten compliments from coworkers yes. Mostly from blue shower gel type frags like Dylan blue or Y edp, but also ombré leather. Burberry hero is also popular with female coworkers. But I work at a factory not a kitchen. Do people wear fragrances while preparing food? Seems like a bad idea
>>18696094nah. I've gotten compliments from friends, but not coworkers. maybe this is more of a thing in the USA, people are too reserved here to comment on your scent
>>18696060I haven't tried the edt and edp side by side so I can't comment on that, just wanted to let you know that that has little to do with survivorship bias; if you want to treat this like a debate club you could, at most, say it's anecdotal evidence.>>18696094I've gotten a few compliments about Encre Noire from colleagues in maybe the first year I wore frags on the regular.I've never attracted anyone at all with a scent, that can be a conversation starter or a plus but a scent by itself is not nearly enough. At any rate, wearing a frag while working in a kitchen is possibly the worst idea you could have, don't do it.

>>18696696What are you talking about? Each fragrance smells different, even clones smell different. Our sense of smell is our most primal sense so it can pick up on nuances automatically, while our other senses require attention. A lime doesn't have a single smell, the zest smells different from the juice, and they smell different based on ripeness. You task 10 perfumers with recreating a natural, authentic, lime scent and each one will smell different. That's just one "smell" that could be composed of many different ingredient. Each perfume can have hundreds of different ingredients trying to recreate notes and accords. What holds perfumery back is consumer demand and corporate greed, not the endless library of smells.
>>18696780No, you dumb shit. He is saying that it fades by the time he is done riding his bike. Right? What ought he do if the fragrance fades by the end of that journey?Should he:>A. Continue to apply the fragrance in the morning before he gets on the bike so it fades every time he goes to work.>B. Apply it after he gets to work so it doesn't fade because of the bike ride. Pick one and only one.
>>18696719Given he was in France and probably bought it from their store, probably not.

Thinking of buying a sample of Love Exposure by Moth and Rabbit. It apparently smells like flowers and sweaty sex.
>>18696814This sounds like something you buy your thot gf.
Anybody here have recs for Stora Skuggan? Or know where you can sample them in Australia?Really been tempted to blind buy Pine, because conifers are some of my favourite smelling plants. Always enjoy mushrooming in radiata forests because of that.

>>18696497>>18696719>>18696849Based off basenotes, none of this. More of a dry herb field with smoke/metal/rough leather, and some dry amber.
>>18696900So you're looking for a medieval fahrenheit edt?
>>18696902Never actually tried fahrenheit but I would think not. More yatagan without celery x ambre sultan/ouarzazate + metal/copper/blood (aka copper), based off what I sniffed.
>>18696903Fahrenheit EdT definitely fills the natural leather part incredibly well, and then there are dry and subtle florals, like in a field. Modern reformulation like you'd try in a store barely has that gasoline smell people talk about, but I'd say there is a smokiness present. Highly recommend trying it out, but not entirely for what you're after.
What are everyone's favourite PdM frags that almost justify their price point?
>>18696931>PdMmeh
>>18696906Yeah completely not what I'm after - I want herbs, not florals. Well maybe lavender. Is it a herb or a floral?
>InterludeWhat the fuck is this shit? It smells like pickles.
Looking to sample niche scents with genuinely good performance that smell unusual and interesting but not downright offputting. What should I try out? Tired of generic shit, I want a daily scent that is actually originalI tried a bunch of stuff a long time ago but nothing made a lasting impression on me except tauer LDDM, santal majuscule and montabaco intensivo I guess.
>>18696978Haven't smelled Interlude, but I had the same reaction when I cracked open my sample of Reflection Man. Seriously don't understand the hype for it.
>>18696978>>18696989Are any of the Amouages actually good? Never smelled one
>>18696991They're great in every respect but not in my taste.
>>18696979If you want unique and unusual scents, definitely try Orto Parisi and some Nasomatto. Alessandro Gualtieri, the nose behind both houses, is absolutely insane. Which leads to some very interesting creations.“I begin to make something but at a certain point, it starts making choices by itself. It is the process that interests and guides me. I like the feeling of loosing control and I’m not the one making the choices. My involvement is to create something that is alive and will be able to say new things. I want my perfumes to have an intelligence of their own, not just be slaves to my meaning."Megamare is one of my favourites -- abstractly like a dark, deep sea AdG. Baraonda also smells almost exactly like a good whiskey, very smooth on the dry down, whilst not being a typical cloying modern gourmand.
What's the best lavender fragrance without vanilla?

>>18696991>>18696993>great in every respect but not in my tasteAgreed with this anon. I can appreciate the quality of the blend and the opulence of the ingredients they use, but just have not been taken particularly by them.Outlands is quite nice if you like a dark oriental ambery, spicy frag, but it's not groundbreaking or entirely unique to be fair. Special mention to Guidance though, it really smells good on women imo, very feminine and classy scent profile.
>>18697002This, or Valentino Born in Roma Extradose Uomo, which strips away the sweetness and vanilla you get in both BIR EdT & Intense. You get a really nice and well rounded lavender.

Not sure how easy it is to get your nose on them in EU or US.Their scents are inspired by nature, Slavic folklore and culture.Leshiy by Ladanika is really quite different, it's a damp earthy and mushroomy woods smell. Pleasantly refreshing, and captures the smell of autumn in a mossy deciduous forest.

The montagne rabbit hole is an interesting one, with schizoid theories like the nose behind their work being [insert huge name in the industry], and their sus use of givaudan oils from scratch as opposed to using a premade base. They're definitely on the DL and staying secretive. That said, i dont live in the US and dont feel like paying 50 trillion dollars for shipping, so cant comment on the frags themselves.

I don't even believe Chanel grows enough flowers for a significant portion of their perfumes. I think it's all for show.

>>18697189i have pretty good dupes of viking and dhp, though
>>18696979>>18697063ELDO’s discovery set is arguably the best all arounder in regard to price and uniqueness. They’re not all going to have stellar performance, but it’s still worth sampling. Essential Parfums is considerably more basic but for the price is another must-try. Rogue Perfumery and Nicolai’s discovery sets are more traditional (less unique/modern) but many of their frags have excellent performance and smell fantastic nonetheless. At a higher price point but also some equally unique frags you could look at Zoologist. You’ll get some Anons that shit on them, but Imaginary Authors also has some rather unique scents, but are definitely a step down from Zoologist imo. If you’re into heavy, smoky fragrances look at some of Beaufort London’s releases, there are some that are easy to pass on, but others that are absolutely must-try’s if you’re into the style. Finally, while he has started branching (hah) out into other profiles, Pineward is THE go-to house for forest scented fragrances. Be wary however that due to the nature of him distilling many of his own botanical ingredients, some of his fragrances are highly colorized and can stain light colored shirts or even skin for the extremely dark ones. Regardless, take a look at his portfolio and try a mix of arboreals and non-forest frags. Also, if you have questions about any specific frag from one of the houses I’ve named, I can probably give you an answer.
>>18697177I noticed a lot of dupe brands aren't on there, and my guess is because they are trying to minimize catching the ire of larger designers who might actually do something. Amouage might genuinely have put boot to ass to Abraaj since they discontinued their Amouage dupes, the actual reason being that they pulled a Maison Alhambra v. Tom Ford situation but did it quietly and actually got Abraaj to stop, well, existing and Fragrance World keeps making other dupes. It's weird. I don't get it. There seems to be some lines you can cross, others you can't and it all depends on the equivalent of catty office politics. Since FW makes even more blatant copycats than Maison does, but for whatever reason they purged Abraaj from existence. The ban list also contains companies that aren't dupe brands, and they specifically have to request Fragrantica not put them in their database. Why? I have no idea as to the reasoning behind that one. I think Parfumo does the same thing.
>>18697009I still want a bottle of BDJ but because it got discontinued and because it's Tom Ford, I genuinely don't trust a single outlet selling the stuff.

>>18697348Close, but the other way around. It’s dropping a bunch of money at the tables so they throw in a “free” buffet.
>>18697336>You’ll get some Anons that shit on them, but Imaginary AuthorsIt's just me. If you must try them I advise against getting the entire sample set and just getting the handful of fragrances that don't have horrible ratings. I only tried them because they had a lot of reviews so I thought they were popular and I would at least find one fragrance out of 20 I would like. It turns out absolutely nobody cares about the brand and all the reviews are either from people who got it for free or people who got duped. I found they all smell synthetic and cheap. Not the only terrible small brand I wasted my money on but by far the worst offender. I was not at all surprised to learn the founder and perfumer for the brand is a dirty stinking jew. I hate jews.

>>18697364No. LV's entire like is appallingly priced, and imagination is one of the worst. The only reason you want it is because it's popular. The best in the house is 'city of stars' and even that's fairly mediocre. If you want a legitimate freshie get one of these:1) if you want a dominating smell made out of spices and florals that somehow still smells very masculine almost like there's leather (but there isn't), get Kenzo - Jungle 2) If you want an open fresh clean smell kind of like imagination which focuses on light clean musk and neroli (white florals) get Mugler Cologne 3) If you want a clean bright fresh earthy green scent (green like a freshly rained forest rather than green tea) get Guerlain Vetiver4) If you want a cooling crisp lemonaid that settles into a smooth soft slightly sweet sandalwood get Dior Cologne5) If you want an insane turbo fresh that slaps your girlfriends ass get Paco Rabanne UltraRed
>>18697338What do you mean discontinued? In the US? It's still widely available in official Tom Ford stores and stockists in Australia for example. So i'd trust discounters bc stock still exists worldwide.

>>18697407Depends on your tastes. For example I’m a heathen and love sweet gourmands (not exclusively) which most of /frag/ abhors. So if I suggest those and you hate them, don’t blame the brand. Personally I love Apple Tabac, Juniperus, Sturbridge, and Greymist, with Apple Tabac and Sturbridge having some prominent sweet elements that don’t dominate the scent. Greymist is, imo, the best pine scent I’ve ever experienced, performance is okay but not phenomenal. Juniperus is this exquisite mash up of citrus, aromatic, green, and warm juniper facets. Gingerbread (winter seasonal, currently not stocked) is a perfectly executed bakery sweet gourmand, matches the description to the letter. Hayloft is a hay/nutty/vanilla gourmand. Shire is a mod he made of Hayloft, still very hay forward but less gourmand, more fruit and honey. Will also say that Pineward’s stuff was the first thing I smelled that actually made me think, “Yes, that’s what hay smells like.” The less gourmand ones are better for that though. Gluhwein, Revelries, and Christmas wine are each slightly different takes on spiced, mulled wine drinks, each great in their own right. As someone who doesn't like fruit frags, these were the first ones I really enjoyed. Caravansary is the epitome of his “smells heavenly, but is totally unwearable due to the coloration”. It’s this wildly diverse scent, bright, sweet green, a touch fruity, but also this pinch of smoke in the back, very complex. Unfortunately it will also turn your skin neon green for over four hours *if* you don’t rub it in (very) thoroughly. He has several somewhat unique ones, very dependent on your taste. Bucolic is a very amenable sheep animalic. Tome is a leather bound book/library frag. He had a (sadly) discontinued lightly animalic, animal hide, beeswax frag called Chandlery. Gristmill is (again imo) his most woody frag, fresh cut sawdust top that slowly dries down to machine oil and smoke.
>>18697407>>18697529And then of course he has a plethora of his forest scents. For those I would recommend looking at a couple review sites for which are rated highest then pairing that with reading his actual descriptions. Usual favorites are>Murkwood>Fanghorn II>Brokilanbut honestly I prefer his other stuff. To my nose they’re honestly a little TOO ‘natural’ and often come off smelling like freshly snapped tree limbs, wet soil, roots, and chlorophyll. Ymmv

>>18697529Thanks for the effortpost, I actually like sweet gourmands as well, but I live in a hot area and I'm getting tired of overly sweet fragrances at the moment. I really dislike light, airy scents though (with rare exceptions) and Pineward seems to be the opposite of that so I'm interested either wayPissy animalics aren't my thing, neither are classic chypres, but I've been looking to try out more challenging stuff so I'll keep all that in mind>>18697535Yeah Brokilan especially interests me, I'll order a bunch of samples anyway>TOO 'natural'I find natural smelling fragrances to be better at communicating a vibe or atmosphere, unless you specifically want to smell eerie or futuristic with stuff like CDG 2

>>18697568Greymist for sure then, perhaps Lime Cola for something sweet (it’s on the darker side though, juice wise), Shire, White Fir. Gingermoss is a very light, citrus white floral scent. Oddly enough Nocturnis would be a good fit. Boreal, Oxylus, Subalpine perhaps. Clemenpine would probably NOT be a good fit, it’s supposed to be citrus forward but leaned heavily rubber tire/leather to my nose. Icefall is too light imo, performs like an EdC or worse on my skin. Ivymoss had a weird waxy scent I didn’t care for, similar to crayons. Only got worse and more chemical as it dried down. You could try Noki if you like fruit cocktails. (Plastic cup of mixed fruit, not a drink.)Brokilan reminds me a lot of Tauers LADAS, if you’ve tried it. >TOO 'natural'That may be the case, but what I intend to convey is that they’re… unrefined makes it sound like they’re poor quality, so that’s not right. Wild or untamed gives the wrong impression as well. I don’t know, perhaps it’s an opinion thing, but generally speaking if you were to walk out into the middle of a downpour, stick your fist wrist deep into squelching mud and pull out a fistful of wet earth and sniff it, most people won’t think it smells “good”. Perhaps not BAD either, but not good. Snoqualmie, Acadian, would fit the above description, Coastal Veil takes it further, wetter, dirtier. Akero. Treacle for a more dry-rot wood. Unfortunately you really have to try them to form your own opinion. One Anon likened Coastal Veil to Oud Minerale, but I hated it.
I'm going to get Eros edp, and The One edp. Some kind of Homme, but I don't remember which one. Want Bleu de Chanel but no one has it. Saw this and looks interesting. Anyone know about it? Anything else I should consider? It's pretty vanilla-y, but I like Cristiano Ronaldo Legacy limited edition.
