THREADLY, RELEVANT, and HIGH QUALITY REMINDER for you unlifting ANON CHODEs to post body/lifts and get a trip. Tripping is the only way anyone will believe anything you have to say about anything. And only if you demonstrate at least one of the following:
>A squat in excess of both 2.5 times bodyweight AND 500 lbs
>A deadlift in excess of both 2.5 time bodyweight AND 500 lbs
>A bench press in excess of both 1.5 times bodyweight AND 350 lbs
>A LMAO4PLAET or greater row from the ground
>A front squat equal to or greater than LMAO4PLAET and 1.75x bodyweight
>A body that /fit/ won't roundly criticize (good fucking luck)
If you can't manage at least one of these, shut the fuck up, go to the gym, and try harder

OFFICIAL, AND CLEARLY ON-TOPIC, /PLG/ RULES (no bitching!):
1.) Do not talk about cutting
2.) Do NOT talk about cutting
3.) An adult male is >190 lbs, and this is an 18+ board
4.) LOLfedders get out
5.) Every fed is a LOLfed
6.) There are no real rules about lifting (except that s*mo is ghey), half-rep all you like
7.) There are no real rules about judging either, enjoy your R E D L I G H T S
8.) You must have vids to prove your lifts
9.) POST LIFTS or GTFO – The choice is yours.
10.) EAT MOAR – It is never enough
11.) Your program is shit, no exceptions
12.) Powerlifting is not a sport.

>GDE (Genetic Dead End)
Exercise low-responder. High injury rate, no sports background, weak willed.

>OGD (Obese Genetic Dud)
A GDE that tried to cope by getting fat. Did not get stronger. Look at him and laugh.

>SUMO (SUbhuman MOron)
Too stupid and/or genetically deficient to just bend over and pick something up. Copes through a combination of clowning half reps and eating butt.

>UFO (Under Fed Organism)
Adult human male weighing less than 200 lbs. Throw food at them until the problem is remedied.

>VOLEM (Voluntary Evermediate)
Late beginner, early intermediate. Panics when the bar gets heavy. Program hops, works on technique, or sabotages recovery as an excuse to not progress.

>BONER (Bench Only No Effort Retard)
Wants to have the admiration and ego of someone who lifts, but doesn't want to get the squat or deadlift of someone who actually lifts. Copes with a combination of bench press and autism.

>LARPER - Lamely Accessorizing Retard, Performance Essentially Rubbish
Wants to be a powerlifter without actually lifting or trying hard. Buys $800 in clothes and accessories to dress the part. Stuck at a 400 kg total. Widely loathed.

>FAGIT (Freakishly Adept Genetically, Incredible Total)
Strong from birth, never had to work for it. Still works at it, just to ULTRA MOG GDEs even harder. Hated by everyone, but they can't really do anything about it.

>JANITOR (Just ANother Ineffectual Twig, Obviously Retarded)
Complete assclown and permanent virgin.

>TCHAD (Tries Consistently Hard All Day)
The Isleys, MAs, and other guys with average genes who actually like competing and getting stronger.

>TWIT (Third World Idjit Tard)
Smelly unAmerican FOREIGNER who lifts in the futile hopes it will make him matter like AMERICANS matter (The Italian's back)

Quite the low squat compared to your bench and dead but you can enter a powerlifting competition any time you like. Only lifting requirements are 25/25/25. If you want to compete, do it now, don't push it back because it's not for everyone.

It's not useless, and you're still not adding to the conversation. Instead of making a >pointless post, you can give your advice instead. Also you're assuming his goals, nowhere in his post did he specifically say he wanted to press big weights. However, to say that a given movement is completely useless to press big weights is also dead wrong. Bigger tricep has the potential to be a stronger tricep, so anything, so long as it doesn't hurt and you vary stimulus enough to avoid injury, you'll get bigger and stronger.

Daily reminder that low-bar squats don't count to anyone worth anything and are the definition of cheating.
High-Bar ATG Pause Squat, conventional DL, and close-grip bench are the true definition of strength.
I'm currently analyzing whether close grip INCLINE bench (30 degrees) is actually more athletic, so bench may shortly be cheating.

Notice how Olympic weight lifters are both strong and aesthetic, whereas powerlifters not aesthetic and arguably strong. I saw an interesting article a few years back saying powerlifters have to "outsmart" the weight. What the author means is exploiting reduced range of motion via excessive arched bench, low bar squatting, sumo deadlifting, using equipment at every possibility. The reason there's a "progression [x] world records" for the big three is the technological advancement of equipment. Not a single person can deadlift 1000lbs unequipped (no belt, no straps, no suit). And don't get me started on these alleged 1000lb benches.

Meanwhile you see someone like a marathon runner, and there's no cheating there. They're proper athletes. While they lack aesthetic bodies and should gain weight, I respect them more than the powerlardos because they don't cheat at their own sport. If you want a proper analogy, let's look at sprinters are just about any other Olympic sport. They're full of aesthetic bodies while being truly athletic and inarguably strong.

You see, when an Olympic weightlifter high bar squats 500lbs (over 2.3x bw) atg for reps (as an ACCESSORY lift), a powerfag seethes uncontrollably while scoffing. To him, since he can barely break parallel on a 600lb low bar squat, he believes he's stronger and calls the Oly lifter a weakling twink.

Powerlifting truly is a pathetic sport where the one thing the athletes generally can't even excel at the one thing they're supposed to: strength. Eating your way to higher totals by permanently stretching your skin beyond its elastic limit is beyond pathetic. Which is why it'll never catch mainstream, and never reach the Olympics. It's not a sport.

I wouldn't be surprised if it finds itself in the DSM-6 as an otherwise unclassified eating disorder.

Eddie Hall pulled 450kg beltless but was admittedly using straps. It's theortetically possible for a 1000lb beltless strapless conventional, if someone like Hafthor or Graham Hicks, Dave Richardson etc trained for it specifically it'd be possible.
>>
Is the slack pull thing a meme when deadlifting? I have never tried but people swear by it. I think I will give it a shot today, that may be the key to fixing my groin pain when doing deadlifts.
>>
>>74124147
It's not a meme. At heavier weights, especially with a deadlift bar, the bar can rip itself out of your hands if you just rip it off the ground.

It's more of a strong person problem (like 800+ deadlifters) but it's absolutely a thing. Pete Rubbish used to get the bar ripped out of his hands all the time when he was really strong due to not pulling slack and just yanking the bar quickly.
>>

Those are probably not crazy numbers for most of you, but this week I managed to deadlift 200kg for a (touch and go) double and bench press 130kg for a double.

Both time I was going for a max effort single, but got surprised at how easy the weight felt so went for a second rep (it was a 10kg PB on the DL and 5kg PB on the BP).

Current bodyweight is 78kg, which is the heaviest I've ever been (I'm 5'5")

Here are the two sets
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9foYAlJnj0
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pw4IAF1yBJ8

I'm going for a heavy squat tomorrow (between 150 and 160kg, probably my weakest lift) and a heavy OHP on friday (I'm thinking 80/82.5) and then dropping a bit of weight.

Big sad no 415 today but I think in a couple of weeks I'll have it. Someone give me a 5th (bench) press variant to do, already doing dips, bow bar, chains and chest height pin press. Should I just do TNG bench?

I don't find close grip to be all that helpful, plus it's not all that great on my shoulders and elbows. But Larsen is the move I think, spotos are too close to a t shirt press which is already what I do as my main style.

Bobby arches past where he would use his arms. That is why Stef mogs him overhead, but they aren't far apart on bench.
>>
>>74124750
Didnt bobby get a 225 ohp with like 2 weeks of training?
>>
Why do squats take so fucking long? Took me an hour. Sure it was the first lift and had the longer warmup, but still it is annoying as fuck.
>>
>>74124822
???? how many sets did you do? I do 5 and takes about 20min
>>
>>74124828
The working set is 3x5 with the longer rest intervals, but add in the warm up sets and it takes forever. 20 minutes there is something wrong. You can't be pushing yourself.
>>
>>74124815
Stef ohps like 245. That's a pretty significant difference, even with my PR being 230.
>>
>>74124836

Bruh. I rest 3 minutes, you're resting what 15? That's crazy
>warm up sets
Just the bar 3 reps, 1pl8 3 reps, 2 pl8 3 reps, rest 3 min then working sets. That's it
>>
>>74124853
Yeah I can't do 3 minutes of rest. Though I'm in my 40's. I'm closer to doing this. Not exactly cause then it would add even more time.
>>
>>74124868
I figured that you were the guy in the 40s. You're doing RPE 11 sets and being way too generous with your rest. I would tell you to deload and not be a fucktard with your training but i know you won't do that. Go do some fucking cardio so you dont need so damn much rest
>>
>>74124892
I'm sure the creatine is helping some, but yeah I guess I got to work with the body I have. Not doing the treadmill now, but trying to get the mountain bike going. Replacing the front fork and now I need a disc brake adapter. Ahhh, such is life.

It's because I was trying to find a way to make progress without benching 6x a week on sheiko with double bench sessions etc. Nuckols' Bulgarian seems like it's it, though I might jump to 6x a week anyway since it's a lot less taxing mentally than sheiko is, plus sessions are much shorter.

Hour 45 into the workout.
Is 95 pounds good enough for my first power clean? I would like to do the bigger plates, but don't want to push it to 135 pounds.

See I do listen occasionally. No deadlifts, and I miss those bastards like you wouldn't believe.
>>
>>74124985
Invest in smaller weight bumpers.
>>
>>74124998
Or those wooden 45s diameter plates, that's what i used
>>
>>74124998
Kind of pointless. 95 pounds was pretty easy. I'm sure I can do one plate next week. The exercise is just weird and awkward.
>>
>>74125009
>jumping 40lbs
Based retard at it again
>>
>>74125015
I can deadlift 285 pounds. It is the same situation as squats as you know. First time, no clue what my max weight is for power clean. I don't get this criticism. But whatever be a weirdo.
>>
>>74125024
Just go up slowly, there's no rush to hurry up and struggle.
>>
>>74125028
Thanks. I remember trying these out like 6 or 7 years ago. If I recall it got a lot easier when the plates were a little higher off the ground.
>>
>>74125024
>I don't get this criticism. But whatever be a weirdo.
Pick a decent weight and progress slowly, that's the criticism, you're jumping weights like a retard
>>
>>74125037
It is the first time doing them. This is finding a decent weight. A guessing game. This is too light and one plate will make it higher off the ground. After I finish my 3x5 at this weight I'm going to bump it to one plate to try out. Too much I'll reduce. That seems logical.

Okay my conclusion is I can easily lift the one plate power clean. But my form?!? I have no clue how to properly do a power clean. Even after watching videos on it. My elbows don't go out that far when the bar is up. Also one dude showed the bar hitting his hips. I don't know if he was a manlet or I have much longer arms cause my bar don't do that once my legs start to straighten. Oh well Mondays problem.

>>74125124

>>
>>74125105
don't do the power cleans unless you are willing to invest a good deal of time into learning how to do it properly, that means looking up weightlifting videos and practicing the second and third pull separately with a broomstick or empty barbell
so have fun with that or just ignore them
>>
>>74125107
65-75%
75% is around a 10RM, so if you want to punish yourself x 5 then pick that
>>
>>74125105
Power cleans are pretty technical. You probably won't figure out how to do them correctly by just lifting as much weight as possible. Since you are self-coached, you will want to record yourself doing them, watch the playback, and make adjustments before putting any significant amount of weight up. Sorry if im wrong, but I get the impression that you aren't going to do that. Since you don't care that YNDTP, you might be better served just doing rows as the other anon mentioned.
>>
>>74125135

Works mobility and, more so for you, balancing the log
Break heavy log work into two attempt at most for PR then work push pressing.

>Not muh heckin 366 comp dots
Are you trying to say your verified dots by judged via comp rules is a Boogeyman, and your projected dots of 400 is the correct one to use where you're including deadlifts you dropped, a bodyweight thats unverified, and lifts that aren't verified by judges under comp rules should be used instead? You know better.
>>
>>74128142
>Deadlift I dropped
Not anymore :)

>Unverified this unverified that
This is all cope, even if I got 400 dots under comp conditions you'd still shit on me for pulling sumo, squatting low bar and benching with a max grip and big arch and say that it doesn't count.

Correct
>and say that it doesn't count.
No id say it's cheating.

Moot argument anyway. It'll never happen. Volems don't hit 400 dots. Anyway, back to grading.
>>
>>74128182
Something being cheating and something not counting are almost indistinguishable given one would use both arguments to discredit someone's achievements and they basically mean the same thing.

>It'll never happen
I beg to differ, just gotta finish cutting first.

Why are you picking stupid fights BD?
Have you pressed 170lbs overhead in any manner, and at what bodyweight? Why is the latter important? How might a belt help despite the relative low absolute load?
Think, BD.
>>
>>74130331
Viper press can put your back in unexpected positions quickly if your core isn't supported but you wouldn't know that because you've never touched a log in your life.

Seesaw Dumbbell Presses 8 reps, rest, 8 reps, re st, 8 reps, rest, use your breath as resting gauge, don't go super heavy, just enough to feel tension on 8th.
