Count calories, all of them.
Eat about 500-1000 less calories than your TDEE.
Buy scales, be accurate.
Learn to cook. Try to stick to lean protein and green vegetables.
Eat a lot of protein. 0.72g per pound of goal lean body mass.
Doing cardio, even just walking, will improve your health. There is no such thing as a healthy diseased heart, but you can offset the risks.
Lifting weights will keep and gain muscle mass and lose fat much quicker. No lifting results in the body eating away muscle AND fat.
Drink more water.

So rotisserie chickens are about $5 at Costco and the macros are super good (over 100g of protein for the whole thing).

Apply for EBT, see about lical food bank requirements, or if there are thise little "leave what you can take what you need" boxes. When shopping go for rice or potatoes and invest in sauces, buying bigger meat so it's cheaper and portioning it out for the week. Frozen vegetables are just as healthy for you, don't be afraid of frozen anything. Use the bones from any meat you get for broth, roast them in the oven until browned then put them in the stock pot.

They call high blood pressure the silent killer, because you don't feel bad or get any symptoms until some serious harm has been done.
And a diet with unbalanced sodium content is one of several known factors that raise your blood pressure to dangerous levels. Being a fattie, not exercising and drinking booze being some other big ones.
My advice is to buy yourself a blood pressure cuff and use it regularly.
It's not a big thing, you can buy them online for less than $40, and they take less than 30 seconds to use.
Just be mindful to buy one with a larger cuff if you're, let's say, at the beginning of your weight loss journey.
And then just track your numbers. You want to be below 120/80 consistently. If you're not, you can tweak the factors I mentioned above, you can try various supplements that might help, or you can ask your doctor for pharmaceutical assistance. Whatever you try, keep at it until your numbers remain durably in range.

There's this really really cool tool called a TDEE calculator. You can find tons on Google, pretty much all work fine! What you'll do is tell it your age (children and the elderly have different needs from adults), your sex (men and women have different needs and ideal weights), and your height (every imch changes caloric needs). The last thing it will ask for is your weight! You'll click "Go" and it will calculate exactly how many calories you need to eat to STAY that weight, and usually it will also tell you how much to eat I'm order to gain, or lose weight! You'll find it helpful to also plug in your ideal weight, try to go for about 22BMI! This way you know how many calories you'd need to eat to maintain your ideal! Now, there's a very helpful tip that can keep you on the right track: set the activity level to either "BMR", which is the calories to keep you alive, or "little to no exercise", as most people GREATLY over estimate just how much and what quality exercise they get. Remember!

Not that guy, but I've tried those and they always grossly overestimate my TDEEE, according to them I should have like 2500BMR which is just not accurate, it was suggesting I eat 1500 kcals to lose weight, but that was not working at all I was staying exactly the same. Yeah, this that's what I did, bodyweight glute bridges for the first 2 months, did sets of 10 reps twice a week for the first month, added another set every week, second month I started do 20reps, finished at 5x20, then on the 3rd month I started with barbell glute bridges 3x8 twice a week, adding 5lbs every week.

You google calories in 100g of apple and then count how much did your apple weight.
You don't have to do that for everything - apples specifically I tend to guestimate to be 100 kcal each, which is usually a bit overestimating it, so an occasional bigger/sweeter apple that ends up being over 100 kcal is not a big deal.

Some things you won't even have to google.
Raw dry carbs, such as pasta, white rice, or table sugar you can count as 4 kcal per 1g. That's overshooting it but only slightly so, which is a good thing.
All forms of vegetable oils should be counted as 9 kcal per gram, as they are almost pure fat.
It depends for butter, but I just count it as 8 kcal per gram, as it also overshoots it just a bit.

but you've got it backwards, friend.
1) there's always a chance that she's cheating on you. this is what it means to trust someone, to give them the benefit of the doubt. to stifle your worry and have faith in their behavior. if you can't trust her to be faithful, then either she's already proven to you at some point that she's untrustworthy, or you just have problems.
2.) even if you kept her on a leash 24/7, she might still harbor the desire to fuck other dudes. if she wants to do it, you can't take that away from her, even if you put her in a cage.

not to go too off topic, but the point is, people want to feel like they have some control over their environment and the things they care about. whether you like it or not, your parents have a perception of who you are inside their minds. they most likely still see you as that helpless 10 year old little boy or girl who they need to protect from the world. it makes them feel useful and important, like they're the hero to someone's distress. it's hard for them to let go of that perception, so they continue you to treat you like a child. then, on top of this, their beliefs about the world color the way they interact with you. if they think that fasting is akin to bulimia or some other mental illness, or some other unhealthy thing, they're going to object to it and (perhaps subconsciously) work against that goal, they might not even realize they're doing it.

It’s fairly low in cals. I’m leaving room to have a few days where if I’m extra sore I can afford to up cals by 500-800 without actually leaving my deficit. 285lbs, want to be 200lbs lean 6’2”. Lean around 180 atm so 100lbs of fat to lose.

My legs are naturally huge and I fucking hate it I used to SS for 5 years straight before I got fat and stopped lifting and they blow up to their old size just walking. I should do something for my ass and maybe hams I suppose for the sake of avoiding imbalance issues but I really don’t care to work my legs beyond the occasional few sets of squats.

The adrenaline sprints hit different. My mile is still 12min and I still need a power walking break, but I CAN sprint if I want to. Even faster if say, traffic is coming and I have my kid on my back. Suddenly I'm very fast and feel no strain or pain.

You’re technically in a newbie state again so just being consistent will take you farther than any perfect routine for now. You’re likely benefiting from muscle memory too. 3 months and you should have close to where you left off gains wise and a decent amount of any strength you lost. You can get away with low calories while doing this for now, but you will have to up them. The diet you described looks like it’s 1500 depending on how much carb & meat you’re eating. If it’s working stick with it but be ready to change it up soon. If you find yourself overly sore, stalling, etc. just remember your priority is (should be) fat loss. If you have to switch to some lesser routine to maintain what you gain for now to avoid compromising that goal then do that. Same with upping calories slightly to support this and avoid burning yourself out. As far as timeline no one can really say but it’s not absurd to assume in a year you’ll be closer to 20% body fat or below it. I wouldn’t expect abs in a year though, but closer to where you’re close to them.

Lost 25 kg's this way. Havn't really counted any calories. I think cutting down on two of your meals so you can eat normally for the third one is the definitive key to go.
