>Who is /fat/ for?
For fatties who are working towards a longer life and a better physique through meaningful hard-work, strategy, and dedication. This is not QTDDTOT, stick to questions on fat loss. Post height and weight when asking for advice.
Join our Fatty Contest: https://www.fattycontest.com/

>What do I do first?
1. Read https://physiqonomics.com/fat-loss/
2. Calculate your Body Fat Percentage: https://fitness.bizcalcs.com/Calculator.asp?Calc=Body-Fat-Navy
3. Calculate your TDEE: https://www.sailrabbit.com/bmr/
Remember to use bodyfat% and use Katch-McArdle Formula with sedentary settings or your TDEE will be too high.
4. Plan your weight loss: https://www.losertown.org/eats/cal.php
5. Track your nutrition with MyFitnessPal (better for packaged food), Cronometer (better for generic food/macros) or LoseIt (great for both).

>Now what?
Count calories, all of them.
Eat about 500-1000 less calories than your TDEE.
Buy scales, be accurate.
Learn to cook. Try to stick to lean protein and green vegetables.
Eat a lot of protein. 0.72g per pound of goal lean body mass.
Doing cardio, even just walking, will improve your health. There is no such thing as a healthy diseased heart, but you can offset the risks.
Lifting weights will keep and gain muscle mass and lose fat much quicker. No lifting results in the body eating away muscle AND fat.
Drink more water.
Read the /fit/ sticky: https://liamrosen.com/fitness.html

>DON'T
Eat refined sugars, they're terrible for you regardless of carbohydrates.
Eat processed foods.
Drink your carbohydrates(alcohol, soda, Starbucks).
Freak out over a weight loss stall. Plateaus can last up to three weeks.
"Reward" yourself. Cheat days cheat only yourself.

My bandmate keeps posting old content of us like it's new from when I was 100+ lbs heavier smdh

>>75457596
I don’t know if I would call it a lean bulk necessarily, but its moderate and as clean as I can make it. Current goal is 190 lbs lean mass at 10-15% body fat, which would be total weight of 211-223 lbs. So I’ve got another ~13 lbs of lean mass to add. Should be doable in another six months or so, I think.
Actually stalled the last month or two around 205-207 lbs. Was eating around 2,800 cal/day. This week I started aiming more for around 3,100/day and I’ll see what happens. Macros are 225g protein, 60-75g fat and the rest carbs, which would work out to around 380-415g to hit 3,100/day.
>might have advice for
Missing a lot of info, but it sounds like you may be doing too much. Early on you can gain lean mass with just 2-3 days in the gym. Intermediate 3-4 days. Make sure you are getting 1-2 full days of rest per week.
Also if you have been in a deficit non-stop for more than 12 weeks, you might try taking a break. Eat at maintenance for 1-2 weeks, then go back into a deficit after that.
>>
I'm the guy who posted about being stuck in the 164-166lb limbo a week ago. Took my diet more seriously this past week, started really recording what I was eating as accurately as possible. Weighed myself today and I'm exactly at 162lbs. I'm so close to being free from the 160s, finally.
>>
>>75459572
What are you eating?
>>
>>75459578
Mostly chicken breast, rice, potatoes, and greens. Also had a sandwich, stew, and soup on some nights.
>>
i could understand cico as an oversimplification, but is ultimately the truth in one way or another (the only actionable thing you can do is eat less, move more, and this will work for any leaving creature on earth)

but why are there people that want to actually ignore it completely now?
>>

>>
>>75459696
it's not so much "people" than rather just a schizo or two whoare persistently pretending they have absolute easy answers.
Almost all dieting concepts have asterisks and caveats, and honest people are able to admit that readily. For example, cutting all saturated fat as a first approximation is beneficial for most, but in reality not all forms of saturated fat are equally bad, and a carefully curated diet could in fact benefit from some of them.
It's easy to weed out the bullshit by ignoring weirdos that make absolute claims.
>>
>>75459884
Suppose you eat a hypercaloric diet. Do you gain bodyfat?

HINT: If youre eating excess protein the answer is no. Therefore CICO is false.

Yeah, yeah I've probably been going a bit too hard. The line between pushing yourself a good amount and too much just seems to be so thin and easy to cross. I feel like if I'm not working hard every day I'm falling behind. If I'm not on my heavy restriction then I feel like im gaining weight
>>
>>75459696
Anyone who has made it does not spend all day arguing about this on an anonymous forum. Ignore them and they'll go someplace else for attention.

>>75459973
>The line between pushing yourself a good amount and too much just seems to be so thin and easy to cross.
Yeah, it's thin. But the window of pushing a good amount, between not enough and too much, is relatively wide. If you are just fully wiped out then back off a little bit, give it a week, and see how you feel.
>I feel like if I'm not working hard every day I'm falling behind. If I'm not on my heavy restriction then I feel like im gaining weight
It's all in your head. It's cliche as fuck, but remember its a marathon and not a sprint. You don't do yourself any favors by burning out and falling off the wagon. It takes time to undo years of bad habits, but if you find a level that you can sustain long-term you'll get there.
>>

Thanks big guy. I skipped my rin today because yesterday I woke up feeling like i was made of concrete, like I just couldn't do anything. My Wednesday run i felt like I was running through water and my eyes were making tears. I'm finally so so close, I'm actually at my original goal weight, I just have probably 15lbs more to go until I'm done losing fat. Thanksgiving is coming up. I'm on the family roster to make pumpkin bread loaves with hazelnuts, walnuts, and sugar+pumpkin spice swirls, and a large cookie cake. Fat bitch knows how to cook right? Fat bitch just has to be very careful about not eating too much while being polite and not looking like a psycho refusing holiday food. How do you handle holidays? It was so much easier enlisted because I saw no family and had no holiday food.

I just got into baking this spring actually, been enjoying it. Have made baklava, a few pies, pumpkin bread and muffins, maple walnut tassies, couple types of cheesecakes, apple turnovers, etc. Typically bake something, usually a new recipe, once a week. I don't eat the vast majority of it though. I have one piece of whatever I make and the rest I give away to neighbors and family—try to spread out the damage between them so I don't make them all fatter. One of my neighbor's kids apparently get excited every time they see me walking up to the door lol.
>how do you handle holidays?
Even when I was losing weight, I didn't worry about what I ate on holidays. The main thing is to not turn Thanksgiving day into Thanksgiving week. But that one day isn't going to ruin everything, so I don't worry about diet and just eat whatever I feel like and enjoy company of friends/family. Refusing to even partake or skipping time with friends/family on holidays just because of a diet seems way too autistic to me. And you don't have to go insane—not like you have to eat until you make yourself sick. Just try to eat in (relative for the holidays) moderation and don't worry too much about it past that. The next day you get back to normal, no harm no foul.

>So why not eat 1000
Because it would feel like SHIT and I will not stick to it, that's why.
~3 years ago I ate around 1500 kcal/day. I managed to stick to it for about 4 months, and lost like 15 kg, before simply dropping the whole thing.
The idea that you should just "willpower" your weight loss is stupid.
Not only does it ultimately fail to work for about 95% people, even when it does, it gives them the wrong impression that the way they are eating is not a big deal as they can just "fix it" when necessary which, in turn, is incorrect for 99.9% of people.

Dieting is a flawed temporary solution for a long-term fundamental problem.
>These days when I eat maintenance I feel a bit stuffed, like I indulged a lot that day.
"Feeling stuffed" is incredibly short-term. I went through it numerous times.
You can feel stuffed on your very first IF attempt and think it's magic.
But it does very little to actually make you eat less throughout the day long-term.
Not to mention, people adapt to "feeling stuffed" as well - that's why the vast majority of stomach reduction patients eventually start to gain weight again despite feeling quite literally "stuffed" their every single meal.

What does "Eucharist" literally mean? >Answer:
Thanksgiving.

So, for Roman Catholics, they are eating something in order to be saved that is intended (as declared by its very NAME) to be eaten in THANKS for salvation. That means Roman Catholicism heretically and irrationally distorts the EFFECT of something as being its CAUSE, as evidenced by what the word Eucharist means (and how it's defined in the Bible: as a thankful REMEMBERANCE of Christ's ONE sacrifice on the cross, for us that have already been saved by trusting in that sacrifice of His).

With this bastardization of communion, they are doing the exact opposite of what St. Peter preached in Acts 10:47 (ie, baptizing to recognize salvation ALREADY received).

so if i eat my tdee(2300 calories) and then workout to burn 500 calories is this what you mean by a deficit or what how would you even know how many calories you burnt without a watch

>>75461070
Right, so what you're describing is generally the result of long term and consistent calorie reduction, it's a reason why calorie counting has a very high rate of weight regain over years as metabolism drops heavily to try to compensate for your lack of intake. I've never heard of it being as low as 800cal's which is very strange, perhaps ozempic is contributing. It generally takes a few years to recover it completely. Fasting is to my knowledge the method to circumvent this from happening but I don't know if it can fix it, though if you're maintaining at 800 cals you may as well fast and hope for the best

Losing weight sucks ass. Here I am snacking on carrots and cucumbers to get the fiber in, which makes weight loss easy mode (won't be hungry or at least wont eat as much even on relapse) and all I can think of while watching telly is how much more enjoyable it would be snacking on pizza, chips, nuggies, chorizo, burger, fries and cheese bisquits instead.

I deviced a desperate strategy to prevent myself from hopping in car to get yummies: drinking. Sipping Jack as I write this. I'm fat not stupid and would need hella cravings to drunk drive for some chips.

>>
>>75461631
Fiber is a bad thing on its own, yes.
It is literally indigestible. You do not need fiber because your body can't do anything with it and your GI tract will actually function better without it. Fiber causes bloating and promotes the growth of gut bacteria which digest fiber, which doesn't help you because you're not a ruminant animal, and displaces gut bacteria which will actually help you digest foods that you get nutrients from. And the nutrients in plants are often the wrong form which your body can't use, sucks at converting to a useable form, or they are locked away in the indigestible fiber where you can't access it because you're not a cow.

Hence, you are NGMI, fatty.

Got any ideas for hazelnuts? I have a shit ton to use up and I'm pretty certain I'll have leftovers after the pumpkin loaves. I highly recommend brioche experimentation, a good brioche is a [cinnamon+cream cheese, blueberry+lemon, cherry+cream cheese, etc] roll, French toast, bread pudding, if you want a fluffy slightly sweet and buttery bread in a recipe you want a good brioche. I've been watching my SIL cooking and I'm boring the line on gentle guidance and ( ▽д▽)good gravy what do you mean?! She insists for example she likes using a fork over a whisk and thinks straining clumps from crepe batter is fine. Love you just lost half your dry ingredients.
A few weeks ago there was a party here and it was potluck style, everyone handmade a food item with a lit of love and care and everyone was encouraged to try everything. So I did. It was great, I discovered it actually do like balsamic vinegar, and i also ate almost DOUBLE my caloric absolute ceiling. 2.5x what I try to eat daily. Still, I lost weight for the week. And I was very polite. I wasn't like the hogs that only got dessert items and spent the whole party eating. In the past it probably would've gotten seconds of everything just because I'm very susceptible to food fomo and if it's good I want more. I make recipes until I perfect them. But now like you I spread it around so I'm not just fattening others, I take a portion to try.
I don't think at all that desserts should be sugar free or low fat etc, the entire point is to be sweet and fatty. It just has to be very very moderated.

Even the watches will be wrong most of the time. I say most of the time, because I'm sure a broken clock is right twice a day. To properly count the amount of calories that you burn. There's so much information that's needed from your height, your weight, your actual body composition, your heart rate, your respiration rate, the intensity that you're actually doing it, etc etc.
Do not even count your calories burned.

You're just lying then, or you ARE losing g weight just not as fast as you'd like probably because you're a shrimp, or you ARE losing weight but your ozempig issue means your guts are sluggish and you're withholding a lot of water AND shit. Start keeping a shit log (hehe) of the day's, times, and quality shits you take. Add in natural laxatives like apples pears oranges coffee etc.
You are not making fat out of thin air. You are not some deep ocean creature that just slows it's heart rate and respiration rate to slow its caloric burn. Even BEARS wake up skinny in the spring and they fast for months with a slow metabolism.

TDEE would include physical activity. BMR is how much you burn while sedentary. I know people who can go jog for hours and eat over 3000kcal while still losing weight, but like the other anon said it's hard to judge if you're not experienced. It's also easy to use exercise as an excuse to overeat.

The portioning is ridiculous too. I got a sweet potato pie a few months ago because it was on clearance because I like sweet potatoes because I like pie. But I looked at the calories on it, absolutely crazy bananas, then it said four hundred and fifty, and I was wondering how they could possibly cram that much into a slice. So then I started reading it closer to see just how big it thought I would want a slice. Turns out, it meant one quarter of the entire pie. So I had to do a ridiculous amount of math for something as simple as finding the amount of calories for a normal human serving.

I'm just gonna say it. I don't really care if I have loose skin. If all goes well on my journey, then I'll get lean with enough muscle mass to eat it up over a few years, if my life is actually going well enough then I'll just be able to have it surgically removed as a shortcut.
But I know being as fat as I was for as long as I was, it was just meant to happen no matter how slow I lost the weight. So why would I sit around and take four years to lose 70lbs when I could just do it in a year and a half? It just sounds like a lot of crab noise to me.
>hurrrr you're uhhh losing weight too fast
>it's not good for you to get healthy that fast

Fat fucking crabs. My face is still fat, my body is better than ever, and again I was doomed to have loose skin and I knew that as soon as i started losing fat and my gut just started deflating instead of shrinking. Who cares? It's a sign i put in the hard work. I did it.

Yeah I probably did that on most holidays. Just indulging on the one day never slowed down progress an appreciable amount—not like there are a ton of holidays each year. Would be harder now since I'm trying to eat 3,100/day. Eating over 6,000 would be difficult, even for me.

Because losing/maintaining weight should be very casual and habitual. You have to do it for the rest of your life. What happens when you reach your goal and stop being motivated by 'signs of hard work'? Instead of hard work, it's better to just accept that you can never stuff yourself until you're full, never be sedentary, never snack all day, or do whatever it is that led you to being a fat slob. 4 years is absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things.

I started by using the calculator in the OP to find out my TDEE doing a -1000kcal deficit off my TDEE but wasn't losing any weight after three weeks. Number one is working out at home with my personal equipment. I don't think I could keep a streak if I had to drive to the gym everyday. The only time I ever went on a streak before was after a breakup.
Number two that helped me is making tests for different exercises. Accomplishing them boosted my self esteem and made me want to keep exercising more. I like to google what the average person can do - one of my first goals was to do a pullup for example.
Third tip is to have an accountability buddy. Someone to share your progress with and hold accountable. These threads are great for that
>>
>>75462555
Bitchin'... I'm actually trying g hard to abstained from smoking. Someone here said something that's really helped me since is that's that cigarettes don't make me feel better, cigarette make ne feel shitty and having one just relieves the misery that they inflict. Every day is a day that I'm recovering from feeling miserable without them.
>>
I'm feeling actual, excruciatingly painful hunger pangs in my stomach for the first time ever and I have no idea why. I shouldn't be. Had a hugeass fast food meal at 2pm yesterday and then vegetable pasta at 9pm. Been drinking water. I've gone 36 hours without eating before and have never felt this.
>>
>>75462579
I wish I had an IRL workout buddy this time. Back when I lost weight, when I was in high shcool circa 2004~2007 it was me and my dad working out together and we kept each other in check trying to outdo one another, he'd lift X so I had to lift Y to beat him, he'd challenge me to do something and then I'd see if he could match it. My dad died back in 2017, I only decided to try to get back into shape in September of this year. I haven't failed to do a workout yet, but I've definitely noticed that lack of drive without someone to surpass or someone to help me push my limits and keep me for slacking. Working out is so much easier when you have a buddy to keep you honest and motivated.

First full week back on a whole foods DASH style diet and the weight is already just melting off.
For the last 6 weeks I have been trying some ray peat/bioenergetic life adjustments as an experiment. They included
>A thyroid supplement
>massively increasing my carb intake
>allowing for honey and raw cane sugar, including mexican coke (specifically recommended)
>lots of fruit and fruit juices
>increasing calcium (dairy mostly)
>watching phosphorus consumption
>higher pace shorter runs replacing endurance work
>the carrot salad
>daily aspirin
The idea was that given an adjustment time, your body will run better and maybe even begin to lose weight on a higher metabolism.
>pros
Felt great
Huge gains on the track
Solved life long digestive issues
Solved some mental fog
>cons
-Killed sex drive
-Began craving foods with high pufa and sugar content
-ADHD symptoms were going haywire, some of which were in complete remission for over a decade.
-It didn't actually have an effect on my pulse rate or temperature, both are still very low
-blood pressure began to increase
Overall it was worth it for the digestive relief alone. Maybe when I hit 200lbs I'll try again with just honey and fruit because I am clearly a sugar addict and cane sugar is never going to be ok. I'll eat some crow on that one because some anons saw that coming a mile away and rightfully mocked me.

oh yeah i know, and i dont plan to do that when im nearer to my target goal. currently i do only cardio daily along with 1k deficit, when im 10kg -15kg away from target weight i will add 4-5x weight lifting.

my hope is when im almost nearly done that i keep lifting frequently to not totally deprive myself from the occasional treat without getting fat again.

Feel like diet soda is bad for water retention. Would this be fair. My weight always goes up on weekend, only thing different really is a couple of litres of diet soda over the course of friday and saturday. Dont drink it during the week. Will have to cut it out next weekend to confirm, just wondered if anyone else had noticed similar effects

Yes.

I understand now that it's become too stressful to keep up my diet and exercise plan. It's been over 5 months and I'm at serious risk of burnout, and being so close to my goal date and goal weight but not being able to rely on my body because of things like prolonged plateaus has really contributed to this sense of burnout.

So I'm taking a final stand. Yesterday I loaded up on calories, just absolutely stuffed myself even though I wasn't hungry. And at midnight, my extended fasting began. I have enough electrolyte supplements to get through it without dizziness like last time. I won't eat anything, only drink water and take supplements until I pass my goal. It's 18.5 BMI or bust. I'll remain more hydrated this time to have a more accurate weight, and maybe I'll go down to an 18.2 BMI so that the weight gain when I start eating again evens out and I'm right where I want to be in the aftermath. But I will be done before November is over. See you on the other side.

Not either anon but I've lost 10 pounds in the past 5 weeks or so with minimal effort. Basically just stopped drinking.
There's a whole other discussion between what is achievable short term and then keeping that weight off etc. but I agree that 10lbs in a year is a pretty low bar to set for oneself.

Myself I'm aiming to lose another 10 pounds until new years which would leave me with about 50 pounds to lose next year. 52 weeks, 52 pounds. Seems very easily achievable with minimal effort. Basically just continue not drinking alcohol and it should work itself out.

I guess I'm lucky in some ways, just having gained weight through depressed binge eating and poor portion control. Even when I'm stuffing my face, I'm still eating "healthy". Not healthy in the grand scheme of things, it's unhealthy to be obese of course, but I never developed any kind of habit or liking to fast food, chips, chocolate etc.

It's always so weird hearing these testimonials where people crave cookies or soda or whatever. Couldn't be me. The only one I kinda understand is alcohol, but alcohol is bad in so many ways other than weight gain that it's sort of its own beast.

I guess my point here is that it really is learned behavior. Having never learnt it, I never crave for this junk even if I'm at a 1000 calorie deficit. If it can be learned, it can be unlearned. It's not some universal constant you just have to deal with for the rest of your life.
>>
>>75463532
I'm the same, I could never eat a cookie again and not mind too much. My issue is the binge drinking. If I'm not careful I'll have a couple beers one night which will end up being 6 beers a night for a month. Not good for the belt.
>>
>>75463532
>The only one I kinda understand is alcohol,
It's the same thing honestly as someone who has never had any alcohol his entire life the allure of it always seems foreign to me yet the people who enjoy eating the slop I can both sympathize and resonate with because it's designed to be just as addictive
>>
>>75463553
Well yeah but alcohol has a strong intoxicating effect which is the primary reason it's drunk, so that's why the comparison is a little clunky. No food regardless of how tasty compare to the profound effects of drugs and alcohol. There's the addictive side of it which I suppose is comparable, but no one really gets addicted to alcohol because it tastes good.

>as someone who has never had any alcohol his entire life the allure of it always seems foreign to me
If you tried it, the allure would be pretty instantly evident. Not saying you should, but it's not some great mystery that takes expertiese to decipher. It feels good. It elevates mood. It lowers stress. The long-term effects are a much more complex issue, but the immediate effects are pretty simple.

How much should I limit carbs to reverse "prediabetes"? My doctor mentioned it in passing like it's no big deal, among all-green bloodwork results, so I didn't look it up until just now to realize it means I already have issues and don't just have some harmless indicators of an issue.

Just limit your actual sugars including fruit, limit your meal carbs to complex ones and they should be necessary to the meal, like rice or potatoes not a bread roll. Start walking a lot more, replace the carbs and sugars with protein and fat. Remember you don't have to cut ut ALL out just reduce it a lot
>>
>>75463664
want more science fiction? Brigadoor is a single book, more enjoyable if you've played the game, with great voice acting. It's about galactic actors showing up to a locked-down planet and offering the natives bounties to immediately start fucking up the planetary government up in advance of invasion.
Jack Campbell's "Lost Fleet" series starts with a guy woken up out of a 100-year freeze, just in time to A) learn that he's this amazing hero figure now, B) watch his side's entire fleet run into a trap and lose outright, C) take control of the surviving fleet and guide it back home using his lost knowledge of actual tactics.
Christopher G. Nuttall makes tons of slop that mostly ain't bad. Lot of fantasy as well. His series about an empire's collapse into chaos will be soothing to an American listener.
And if you *are* American, John Ringo.

Not him, but I drank alcohol for the first time nearly 2 years ago and I was 28. I had it several times in the following year, including drinking a tall glass of straight whiskey and becoming extremely intoxicated that night. I never liked the taste, I found that it never added to the flavor. I also did not get any sort of joy or fulfillment out of being intoxicated, and did not find it addictive whatsoever. More often than not, I started looking for ways to give away my alcohol. I've had alcohol on maybe two occasions this year, and neither time did I enjoy it.

Food is entirely different. I crave food independently of hunger. When I fast, even once I get past the hunger phase, I can't stop thinking about all the places I want to go eat, or if I want something salty or sweet. I feel like an addict.

>type one which everyone knows if autoimmune from birth isn't caused by sugar!
>type two is uhhh
>well it is more common in fats yes
>but it happens more to certain ethnicities!
>and average weight people get type teo diabetes too!
What does that prove? Fatties eat more sugar. Some people (especially women) like to live off candy and bread. I've seen plenty of girls who eat just bread and potatoes and rice and baked goods, they become pre-diabetic quickly. Certain ethnicities are just much worse for eating only sugar and carbs

cheap ones are garbage
good ones are really expensive and, like all equipment, need maintenance and repairs over time. It's much cheaper to use even better rowing machines at the gym.
price aside they're amazing, very easy on the body and burn calories like crazy. You could burn calories faster with jump rope or sprinting but the rowing machine is a much /fat/ friendlier option.

I reversed prediabetes in 3 months with daily walking and keeping carbs around 30% of macros (in a big deficit)

A1C was right at 5.7 though, it went down to 5.3
>>
>>75463750
Is there anything you'd recommend if you had to buy one? Going to a gym isn't in the cards
for me rn.
>>
>>75463694
I have no idea what kind of life one has to lead to end up 28 having never touched alcohol, but the last thing I would try at that point would be copious amounts of hard liqour. I could probably enjoy a tall glass of straight whiskey, but that's because I've been drinking since I was like 14 and can hold my booze.

That being said only about 10% of the population doesn't drink alcohol, so 90% of people enjoy it to some extent. It's really not that complicated of a drug to understand, and I suspect it's the same autism that would result in someone not drinking for 28 years then starting off with a tall glass of whiskey that leads to struggling to comprehend something every normie and teenager can figure out without much effort.
>>
>>75463767
the Concept2 is the one I always use at the gym. They have a better machine with a giant screen with simulated rowing scenes, but the Concept2 is light, stores away *very* easily (you just lift up the end to make it go vertical), seems pretty robust, and has a decent digital display that you can change around to show power curves per stroke, etc.
So that's what I'd get, about $1500
>>
>>75463647
Doctors can be weird about metabolic syndrome, kinda like part of them is screaming inside but all that comes out loud is "you should probably do something about this if you have time, anon."
I suspect a younger doctor might be more strident about it, but the grizzled ones have usually given up on expecting patients to change their lifestyle on their say-so.
Limiting carb is fine, and should result in your a1c lowering a bit faster, but what's really going to matter in the long run is losing some of your fat mass.

>sit ups
try squats, leg raises, bridges. There are lots of planks you can do, like swapping between side planks. Sit ups are a dumb and fake exercise: the entire time I was in the military I weak and fat but could still effortlessly bang these things out. There are all kinds of moves from calisthenics that you could try, crazy stuff like human flags, and while those dudes also have many pushup and pullup variations, there's not a single sit up to be found. This exercise is some kind of prank.
Otherwise, gj anon.
if you're running comfortably, try jump rope. Five sets of 20 jumps, which is not completely new but still very beginner tier, registers as sprint on my fitness watch and burns 100kcal in 10min of mostly walking around between sets. It's crazy.

I didn't start with whiskey, that was like 6 months later. I had beers and sours, some more fruity drinks. But I didn't get any sense of fulfillment or joy out of being intoxicated. Some people just aren't as affected by alcohol. I could easily go the rest of my life without ever touching it again, that's how little it improved anything.

Flavor is a completely different experience, and I imagine it is for a lot of people who have gained a lot of weight. I can dream about food, I imagine savory dishes, and often go to /ck/ to look at pictures of food when I'm cutting. It's a sensation like libido where it isn't an actual need but a lingering urge or desire, food porn is an apt description. I never realized until I tried prolonged fasting that this is what an addict felt like.

Here's how I do it: I pour 27 grams of protein powders in my morning coffee (19g collagen peptides, 5g creatine, 3g taurine), and I have a bone broth before bed with another 3g of creatine in it. Altogether, 50g of proteins in two warm drinks.
When I was doing two varied meals a day, it was pretty easy to average 50g of proteins per meal (my macro goal is 150g.)
Now that my TDEE has dropped and I'm doing a nutty pudding slop meal a day that only brings in 33g of protein altogether, that leaves me with having to scrounge 75g of protein from a single meal. Easy to do with rotisserie chicken or a steak, trickier with anything more balanced than that.
I've been known to gulp a protein shake to get an easy 30g, which is my last resort cheat code to get to the finish line.

>>

You know, I love the stuff, but every single person I've tried to bring on board thought it tasted like ass.
I tried giving them the very mild classic chicken broth, which literally just tastes like chicken. I've tried the ones that have so many spices it basically drowns the taste, like a turmeric ginger broth. They hated all of it.
So IDK. Obviously there's something wrong with them.

Yet effectively 100% of the population enjoys food to some extent. I'm not trying to say alcohol is not addictive or that it can't manufacture certain body responses, just that food can too.
Much like how alcohol or cigs can send you to an early grave, people have diets that do the exact same thing, and there are entire industries dedicated to making food and processes shit just as addictive and stimulating.

I have no idea what you're talking about. Either of you. Every bone broth I've ever made just tasted like the animal i used. Beef or chicken. Sometimes for extra strength i combine beef and chicken.
>buy cheap riblets and cut off the meat
>buy chicksn feet, inspect each one abd cut any imperfections off
>buy beef marrow bones
>roast all bones until browned
>save the oil and fat that's melted off
>use some in my stock pot to start sautéeing my several garlic cloves, ginger cut into 1" cubes, and quartered onion
>toss in my herbs (thyme, rosemary, parsley, leek tops, whole peppercorns)
>toss in the bones
>pour on the water
>pour in 1% salt by weight
>set to simmer and let it get to a low boil
>scum will float to the top, but this is essentially all protein so I only scoop it out if I'm serving the broth to others (it will make the broth cloudy)
>the bones must be covered by water at all times
>once the water gets too low, I'll take a sample in a shot glass, put it in the fridge, and see if it's jello yet
>if not i just add more water and test again when it gets low again
>if it's ready I kill the heat, wait for it to get a bit cooler, and start fishing out the bones n' bits the best i can
>next get another large pot and put a sieve over it to filter your peppercorns and other tiny debris
>optionally taste test for salt
>next get out all your jars and start portioning your broth
>clean up
