If you want actual strong core and abs. Do Weighted Crunches(preferably decline, can be cable as well) and Hanging Leg Raises. Everything else is a waste of time.

They are really hard to do with proper form, I can do 3-5 reps but even then my technique could be better but I did 3x3/4/5 and my abs were sore for 2.5 days while I can also do 3x15 high leg raises and I still feel dragon flags more in my abs.
I feel like these are insanely effective but very hard. And yes, you will look retarded but who cares

I got tired of hassling with a 45lb plate to do weighted decline situps and crunches, and hanging knee/leg raises suffer the same problem as all other calisthenics which is that progressions are 9 years of spamming high volume before you can move to the next level. So now for abs I'm just doing dragon flag negatives until I can do them properly.

Smart? I don't know. Nobody can see my abs anyway, so I don't care about building a six-pack. My only goal is for my wife to catch me doing these and go wtf.
