Took me a year but I finally did weighted dips for the first time. Why does this exercise work my chest better than anything else? I can feel it for days afterwards, all in my chest. press does not do this.

>>76777537wide supine dips on rings solves all the problems with dips. with a wide position there's no bone rubbing and supine hand position prevents shoulder internal rotation. the last key is to grip the rings outside rather than normal as otherwise you will be pitched forward and doing a pelican a much harder biceps exercise

Dips do something all other chest/tricep/shoulder compounds lifts dont do.I find dips carry over like CRAZY to my bench press and overhead press.Introducing weighted dips into my routine helped me gain 20%+ strength on bench and overhead press

I personally never liked bench press either bar and got really good at dips where I could do it close to with a 100 pound dumbbell between my legs. Just started off with high reps and low weight. kino exercise.I think the DOMS you are describing comes from the dip giving you a good stretch. I am experimenting with dumbbell bench press and dumbbell flies currently because both give a good stretch and have a more natural movement pattern than barbell. So if you like dips tou might like those.

>>76780866Acording to the latest science pretty much all growth is caused by the mechanical tension. Getting a pump and damaging a muscle are just things that happen along by just lifting a weight to failure or close to it.
