Count calories, all of them.
Eat about 500-1000 less calories than your TDEE.
Buy scales, be accurate.
Learn to cook. Try to stick to lean protein and green vegetables.
Eat a lot of protein. 1g per lb of goal lean body mass.
Doing cardio, even just walking, will improve your health. There is no such thing as a healthy fat heart, but you can offset the risks.
Lifting weights will keep and gain muscle mass and burn fat much quicker. No lifting results in the body burning away muscle AND fat.
Drink more water.

I've lost weight before and didn't keep it off because I wasn't meal prepping, and was kind of loose about how I was doing everything. So knowing I can do it if I just set my systems up well and follow the plan so it feels effortless removes motivation from the equation mostly because I only have to think about meal prep once a week, and what I'm going to eat is just ready for me at any given time vs hunting for bad food to eat.

Just making sure my diet is high protein, satiating foods and drinking a lot of flavored water/soda water really helps. The main factor is I'm just tired of being a fat ass and want to see what I'm capable of if I put in even minimal effort to better myself. Want to see what stable 10% bodyfat feels like in my adult life.

I'm down 110lbs and have pretty minimal loose skin only at the lower ab/love handle area. I think you'll be perfectly fine and much better off having lost the weight. Also, as another anon said, worst case scenario you can get loose skin removed but I truly don't believe it will come to that for you.

I really don't think so, pic rel is me 5 minutes ago, the skin isn't too bad, imo. I had to pull it to show it off, but it is there. Abs aren't super visible, but that's more to do with me having a bit more fat to go. Plus absolutely no tan atm. I'm not going to pretend to be an expert, but I was over 300lbs at my heaviest and now I'm steady at 190 to 200. You can see the stretch marks I've got, those are a bigger reality check to me than any extra skin.

The estimate includes the BMR calories you would burn in that time as well. So you have to subtract your bmr calories for the amount of time you spent doing cardio from the estimate. Even then it tends to over estimate a bit.

It's hard to gauge. With LoseIt's data (sedentary, lose 3/4 kg per week) my deficit is about 800, but if we're using the Kath-McArdle TDEE then it's only 400. A friend of mine told me that with my weight (109 kg, 181 cm) 1700 calories is basically starving myself especially since I'm not really sedentary anymore (work retail and walk 5k steps on days off).

I'm not really scared of hunger as much as overeating. So many things have more calories than you'd think, and I'm already terrified that I'm overestimating my TDEE with Loseit and that the food I eat (live with parents so it's my mom's cooking) I'm not measuring properly. I already assume the higher end of anything I eat, just to not lowball it.

I have the same fucking issue. Only thing that helps is to sleep in, like 9 hours is my new 7-8 hours of minimum sleep.

I was doing IF, eating window from 6-8h. I did cardio in the morning in a fasted state and my gut just started to disappear. I'm on my muscle gain streak on my recomp now, can't do IF, gym and cardio at the same time, so what I'm doing now resembles a bulk somewhat. But that cardio and IF in BMR average really balanced my hormones. Felt great. I went from 5.7km/h to 6.3, then started jogging. A good slingshot and base to lifting.

Your motivation is external validation driven, it's not sustainable. The motivation that comes from change from within is the baseline for true change. Yeah, semaglutide is great. It got me from 235 as of late May to 192 now. The most annoying part is that my workouts suck now. I did powerlifting for the better part of a decade and now I'm significantly weaker than I was before, low energy and getting enough protein is chore.

I used to 1RM 395, 505, 330 for squat, deadlift, and bench press. I haven't even attempted a 1RM lately, but doing a set of 5 at 255, 350, and 225 really tuckers me out. I've been mixing up my workout routines a lot lately just to see if there's something I really enjoy. I started running a couple of years ago and recently got into calisthenics.
