Without changing how people write code, how difficult is it to implement some kind of memory-safety feature (even if not accurate) in a C compiler, so it can show some kind of warning at least?

If it can't be done so easily at compile-time, then what about some kind of static-analysis tool that can inspect binaries for potential violations?

just use valgrind
>>
>>107875819
It already warns for some stuff.
Warning for every single problem is both hard to retrofit and impossible to do without also warning for some stuff that's actually safe.

>>107876129
It does for bounds checks but not for most other things like use-after-free and data races. Those are caught at compile time.
>>
you only need heap memory when you dont know how much you need, or if you need massive amounts of it. there are reference counting pointer implementations for C, and the linux kernel even uses them. you should valgrind though at runtime to check for leaks.
>>
>>107876957
how much is a massive amount though

what's wrong with those niggers at google anyway, looking at their research paper they compare it to gemma 3 but never even mention 3n, which was superior to the regular 3 in all respects when it came to translation in all the language pairs I'm interested in
>>
>>107876973

I finally built one. It started as a character RNN but I switched to tokens. It's pretty lightweight given its main function is to do some admin task in a bigger program it's embedded in as well as act as a knowledge repository with some reasoning components. Creating and parsing the training data from scratch was tough but rewarding. Getting the right patterns down with appropriate tags increased training success triplefold.
It's pretty addictive once the first one is done because it's super easy to make them modular and deployable which gives me a lot of ideas.

Why are you expecting Base to be better than Turbo?
>>
>>107877154
I think he just wants to get money from people before training the model, like on Chroma he was able to ask for money publicly

i'm pretty sure there was some anonymous whale who paid for almost all of it

I follow his posts for a long time and i've never seen him ask for money / post links to any sort of donation stuff before. He hardly even talks about his models / how to use them, just research stuff

Because people are morons? If you want a tiny screen to play mobile games and watch movies on that's a little bigger than your phone, they're okay. If you want a standalone drawing tablet, there are a couple of recent models that are barely passable, but you'd still probably be better off just spending the extra money on a cintiq (pro only, Wacom have been quietly rebranding all their old pro stuff to low quality consumer level).

its easier to do paint ins with a tablet if thats your thing. Especially if you have to do dozens of small corrections

WTF is wrong with Shazam these days? Maybe a bomb of bad reviews will help. While not playing music, YET, my Shazam suggests demon shit the whole time..

Thats not the worse but the app doesnt function anymore since its too bussy with suggesting complete non-sense the whole day..

That is the end of Shazam for me. Are there even (Android/Apple) alternatives?

tbf there's few things more anxiety inducing than discovering an unmarked VHS among a late loved one's possessions. is this a tape of you being born? a recording of a vacation you were too young to remember, or of an important early moment? or are you gonna get a face full of your nude mother in her prime taking an olympic-grade jackhammering from dear old dad?

BWP was found footage, The Ring is a better example of VHS as horror fodder

Why are all the employment statistics in the tech industry fake? There's absolutely no chance that the real unemployment rate of web developers is under 20% right now. I wouldn't even be surprised if it's 50%.
8 replies and 1 image omitted. Click here to view.
>>
no surprise there
there was a wave of normalfaggots going into IT, which intended to treat a tech job like a 9-5 code monkey job, but SURPRISE - AI revolution! Code monkey jobs were automated the fuck out of the industry and only the people that give a shit about the area remain
the situation is still the same as it was before: basic work ethic, capacity to learn and interest in solving problems lands you a lucrative career, it's just more people without those qualities are left seething about jeets and H1B to compensate
>>
>>107875902
It’s because employment statistics haven’t been updated in how they’re measured so anything with (country dependent) 1 hour of work a week gets considered employed.
Retards then use this to tell you unemployment like this is historically normal and they hope you don’t notice that since the rise of Uber and gig work like it, the fact that unemployment rates didn’t plummet is a bad sign and the fact they’re still in line with historical data where no such gig employment opportunities existed is the sign of an economic disaster.
>>
>>107876707
>Code monkey jobs were automated the fuck out of the industry and only the people that give a shit about the area remain

i work at a company you know of and almost nothing but pointing customers to the right faq pages or showing excerpts form them has been automated by "ai"

copilot loicenses are used for basically doing google searches

they do continuously hire more developers, testers etc and way more jeets than whites
>>
>>107875902
My unemployment benefits ran out long ago. Therefore I am not counted as "unemployed." I'm now a non-entity.
>>
>>107875902
6% unemployment for recent grads is pretty bad. Not sure about the 2.4% figure, but does it even count people who stopped applying to web dev jobs?
