Look who has just betrayed AI companies in America. So much for AI "winning the race" against China.

>You mean they actually expected the average joe to fund their pipe dream?
They didn't expect you to do it willingly. Like how Windows 11 pushed Copilot into it, they expected every market and every company to simultaneously force their AI tools on all consumers and workers and thus have 100% integration by 2025.

What ended up actually happening is the companies they fucked over from hoarding hardware ended up not being rich enough to do that, and consumers just want AI to jerk their wieners off, they have no other use for a shittier version of Google.

Why are we still talking about this shit? After a few weeks it's still the same.
I don't understand why kids take sides in stuff they never seen. Wanna try oled? Buy a screen for $800. If it's gonna be bad, sell it next year and buy an LCD.
If you so afraid of everything, don't use anything or it might get damaged.

Without changing how people write code, how difficult is it to implement some kind of memory-safety feature (even if not accurate) in a C compiler, so it can show some kind of warning at least?

If it can't be done so easily at compile-time, then what about some kind of static-analysis tool that can inspect binaries for potential violations?

you only need heap memory when you dont know how much you need, or if you need massive amounts of it. there are reference counting pointer implementations for C, and the linux kernel even uses them. you should valgrind though at runtime to check for leaks.

There is a modded youtube app, there's actually a bunch of modded apps out there though not as plenty as the revanced suit I think.
You can sideload apps after jumping through some hoops but you can only sideload 3 at a time and have to refresh them weekly. There's a way to work around the app limit with some caveats.

Oh well, just ordered the 16 Pro Max. Allegedly brand new, 12 months Apple warranty, 256GB Desert Titanium. Will get to "inspect & test" it in the courier office for any obvious physical damage, serial number, and then boot it up to test battery health, genuine parts, software/hardware functionality like cameras, speakers and microphone, etc.
Let's hope for the best! Worst case scenario it doesn't match the description or has some easily noticeable flaws/malfunctions and I just pay the 10 euro goodgoy tax to ship it back to him as-is.

I have the Staples Dexley, which is on sale for $169 right now. I really like it for the money, it's comfy and the arm and headrests are actually tall enough, which is a rare thing with this style of chair. (The headrests in particular are always confusing to me, 90% of them seem like they'd only work if you're like 5'4" or less.

the claim is that they're supposed to be better for your posture and health over long periods of time. If you're sitting in the same chair everyday for 8+ hours you don't want it to be something that puts you in the habit of bad posture and makes you a hunchback when you're old. What's comfortable isn't necessarily good posture, if I'm just sitting on a couch reading a book I end up in some pretty fucked up positions guided by my desire for comfort, positions that definitely aren't good for my back in the long run.

That said I have no idea what kind of long term ergonomic studies have gone into designing herman millers and shit. The target customer is corporate offices which means they can charge a lot, so don't look at their new price of over a grand as a representation of the quality. This is also maybe some schizo shit but I am low key skeptical that these designs are maybe sacrificing some long term health decisions in favor of some shit that could make people work faster. I don't know what that could be so I'm talking out of my ass, but I just kinda expect everything to be evil at this point
>>
>>107865309
damn thats good to know. My seat pad got ruined by a roommates cat a few years ago and it's just been getting more destroyed over time. Looks like the seat pad is 150 and the whole chair is 200.

There's a place near me that's just a whole warehouse of liquidated office shit and they've always got leapv2s in there for 300 a piece, so honestly might just cop a new one at that point tho

Mozilla has had a deal with Google for a very long time now, namely that Google pays them to be the default search engine on Firefox. I'm pretty sure the licencing of Firefox makes it so that you're not allowed to re-distribute Firefox with the Firefox branding and change the default search engine.

Chromium doesn't seem to have any such restrictions, so you can put whatever default engine you want on it.

>>107877413
Why?
>>
>>107877430
>this rewrite produces the same identical programs, which means it is based on the previous code
Doesn't matter, still not a fork
>you read the code then translate it other language
Still not a fork
>it's not purely from scratch
And it doesn't need to to not be a fork.
>>
>>107871819
For absolute beginners I have to say from personal experience that all that really matters for distros is:
>it is ready out-of-the-box/no terminal use required for full functionality
>you like what navigating the default desktop looks and feels like
>it either already has at least some of the apps you want to use pre-installed, or has an online store do you can click a button and download all the dependencies
If you don't like and can't understand your distro, you probably aren't going to use it much and you might even develop a sour opinion on Linux from the bad experience. Nothing is stopping you from getting some complicated or bare bones distro once you become very comfortable with Linux and Bash, but the latter has to happen first. Pick the most appealing easy distro and hop much later if you really want something cooler or specialized that badly. I would put it in the OP if I could.

>>107877433
It's not youtubers' faults, it's just a wave of windows fatigue from 11 and 10 losing support, and my PC had been getting 2x more sluggish every week past the end date. They even installed an analytics tool without telling me that used up a ton of RAM, pushing me from 20% to at least 50% idle before I pulled the plug.

They're all equally cucked by the same loisense but they're all different especially in terms of features like i think freebsd does have a working bluetooth stack because they're not security autists like openbsd.
>>107877278
>>Maybe it uses some tiny part of the kernel, because it sure as hell doesn't use its Bluetooth or graphics stack. Or filesystems. Or WiFi. Or sound.
Not sure which parts of the freebsd system they do use but i think it does at the very least use their ufs filesystem and likely also the wifi/bluetooth as both are in the kernel but they probably use their own proprietary drivers for it.
