forgot about caching but as i said lore is usually "static" since it's recursable and once it enters the chat it'll probably remain there for a long time
if you're doing random events and crap those definitely should go last

in any case, it's even better to repeat the last prompt then

as for removing it from chat history, no; it's hardcoded into ST
send hatemail to cohee
>>
>>107849332

man this is dumb...
it's a shame that even then silly is probably the best platform
>if you're doing random events and crap those definitely should go last
Nah i just use it to only have basic info on characters and places unless they are mentioned, no random events.
Though i've wondering if with cache it wouldnt be better to just have them static, but then again my lorebooks are like 10k tokens even with only the summarized entries so...
>>
>>107849341
>10k token lorebooks
though i applaud your autism, be aware that extensive data dumps might derail your roleplay and/or poison its writing style

try to keep things simple
some llms might surprise you with their extensive knowledge of incredibly obscure characters and worlds so you should make use of their embedded database as much as you can
>>
>>107849374
they are original worlds though, so the llm doesnt have the info it needs.
I probably spend more time writing then than actually playing with them.
I spend a week making them, use them for two days and then i am bored. Lmao.

Probably just a Bethesda moment, anon.
Fallout New Vegas is notorious for being a steaming pile of shit at launch and was one of the most buggy and broken (and broken AFTER they "fixed" it) games of its time on all platforms.

Like, seriously, if you're not auto-backing up your saves to a NAS or something periodically with file version history you shouldn't be playing Fallout games. They're just that messed up.

10 21H2 will run with practically all hardware, I can't think of anything that wouldn't work except GUI side software that might have some gay check checking for 22H2 or 11. If you have estrogen cores on your CPU then you should just use Process Lasso to get the performance back.

not worth optimizing, the only thing worth optimizing is text.
if you care, you could benchmark.
but I think you will be spending 0.00001% of your time on UI input / collision events.
Maybe 0.1-10% on UI rendering depending on how much text you render.
10000hz polling mouse inputs don't send 10000 events, it only does that if you enable raw input, which is usually when the mouse is hidden in 3d games (and even then, the number of events are reduced in something like SDL2 to reduce stutter).

I have no idea if this still works. But 12+ years ago when I nuked my old account from the original migration from myspace I did the following:
>write small script to refresh my feed and auto-delete everything
>facebook will detect it and stop serving you content at some point
>let it run for 5+ days (longer if you actually used the service more than once a month like I did)
>stop for a few days
>check again, it'll start serving you old posts you made years ago that it was hiding
>let the script run again
>repeat this process until you're sure everything is gone
>request account closure/deletion
>do not log-in for 2 weeks
>ignore all emails they send attempting to trick you into logging in (it restarts the 2 week counter)
>request the CD/DVD of all your personal data they're supposed to send you by law (never got mine, still waiting over a decade later)
>deal with the fact that normalfags are going to be angry for the next 5 decades that you do not accept their friend requests or return messages

Normies in my country literally only use facebook/instagram, so if you want to socialize you are forced to use them. Yet fb/ig keeps banning me every time I try making a new acc because presumably I haven't deleted my old ones and they won't allow more than 1 acc, and I can't remember the password to them or their email acc. Just kill everyone working in Meta at this point. I fucking hate this world. My name is not important. What is important is what I'm going to do... I just fucking hate this world. And the human worms feasting on its carcass. My whole life is just cold, bitter hatred. And I always wanted to die violently. This is the time of vengeance and no life is worth saving. And I will put in the grave as many as I can. It's time for me to kill. And it's time for me to die. My genocide crusade begins here.

What is the point of using Linux when every CPU has a baked-in unremovable backdoor (Intel ME / AMD PSP / Apple Secure Enclave)?
>>
>>107849070
Because OS preference has nothing to do with potential hardware backdoors that may or may not exist.
You might as well be asking what's the point in owning a computer when they all have secure "secure" enclaves / management engines.
Answer:
This doesn't prevent me from using it to play video games, watch movies, do programming and shitposting.
If you need secure computing then maybe don't buy a computer and go and live in a cabin in the woods instead.

after a few failed attempts i am finally making progress on my engine without getting stuck.
the secret was to forget about trying to have good architecture and just have a sandbox file to just add and try random shit in.
if i make something decent, i clean it up and put it into its own source file
if i need somethign specific i can focus on that alone
i do spend too much time on thinking about the design, but i just doodle diagrams and dont code anything until i have it worked out

>Lost art paradoxically is used more for crafts and trades than actual art
If you look at antique, hand-made items then compare them to the soulless, mass-produced slop ushered in by capitalists and their anti-luddite bugmen, you realize a quality piece of any "utilitarian" item used to double as actual art, even if it was a simple chair or fork. Any craft or trade sufficiently honed becomes artisanship. If a phrase like "art for the masses" means anything, it could only mean that. Of course, the slave owner class wants the masses to be artless. Now you can only think about the objects that support your daily life in the terms of a spiritually barren and dehumanizing environment, so it's a paradox to you when someone talks about "the lost art" of creating them when really it should be a sad reminder.

>>
>>107849295
Digital and biological retards can """code""" but only humans can program. Learn to program.
>>
>>107845213
The main reason is that coders were "about to be replaced" pretty much constantly since the beginning of the profession.
First it was assemblers, then compilers, then various low-code/no-code abortions, now LLMs. All it ever did was induce demand and push the needed expertise further up.

I am flying to Tokyo tomorrow and want to try my luck with finding a gpu in akihabara, either new or used. Anyone tried this or know anything about it? Which stores to try? Is it futile?

I guess I have MW4 to thank for my fondness for the number pad. I had never played a game with controls that complicated, and when Dad first got the game installed, I was furious when I began the tutorial. It seemed impossible. I was used to just arrow keys to move, and space bar to shoot. Dad did the tutorial for a minute or so, and showed me how to play. Game became my obsession for years. I still hum the soundtrack. And I still like numpads.

Not quite the point I was making. I was advocating for simpler more direct rendering pipelines. PS1 games running at high res look amazing, as do a lot of older pc games that had simple rendering pipelines without post processing. The point of the post was not to specifically single out PS1 games as looking, better, it was to contrast older rendering methods against modern ones.
