Can anyone explain to me why you would put a light on top of your monitor, apparently pointing down onto the screen? I am not a clever man and I cannot wrap my head around this.

The notion that I don't need to perform a system restart after doing sudo apt remove --purge and/or sudo apt autoremove for normal programs just fucks with my mind so much as a 20 year long Windows-only user. Deep in my head I feel a rampant paranoia that something is still left behind in a non-existent registry or dll somewhere. I just have this massive impulse to restart the system afterwards.
