Download a better theme for your xfce. You realize there's a gui where you can download like 10000 different user-created themes, right?
>>107602218
>retards keep arguing about the most insignificant things that can be changed/fixed in seconds
There are thousands of themes that have been pre-made for you. Pick one that suits your eyes and shut the fuck up. And don't give me this "all of the themes look ugly" crap. People have made XFCE look like anything including MacOS, Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows 10 so pick one already and stop whining like a bitch

This only happens on Nvidia systems. I used to have this problem, switched to an AMD GPU and the problem immediately went away.

Used to be that I had to mess a lot with Linux to get a usable system and Windows just worked.
Now I have to mess with Chris Titus tool shit and microwin just to carve the trash out of windows and get something banal like a local account. All of that with the chance that a future feature update (which security updates are tied to now) reintroduces all of it or breaks things.
On the other end Linux just works, and thanks to proton, dxvk et al. this includes gaming.

Higher voltages are more efficient for metal light bulbs. The US started out with 110 volts because they were still using carbon-filament light bulbs. Then, by the time metal-filament light bulbs became mainstream, changing from 110 to 230 volts would have been astronomically expensive. Today, LED is mainstream and it runs on DC so there is no point in the entire voltage discussion. But basically higher voltages are more efficient for home appliances. Your city tram runs on 10000 volts.

So what's the deal with everyone hating on Rust?
The usual points people bring up are:
>wokism
>tranny language
>made by jews
>it's a cult

Disregarding the aforementioned points, can you tell me actual reasons for why a safe(r) programming language like Rust shouldn't be adopted more widely?

>>Disregarding the aforementioned points
It is fine otherwise. But the points you wrote are enough to have some distaste for it.

I said it before, I will say it again, Rust is a great ecosystem. The type system makes it a joy to refactor things at times but also encourages a tad too much abstraction fetish.
I think we would benefit from a mode that's less strict about certain things but otherwise great language, and an even better ecosystem.

I've had trouble getting games to install inside of wine front ends, do you have any advice? tried a fitgirl repack, couldn't get past the installer without errors

as far as viruses, can't someone just create a windows VM and play the game like that?
>>
>>107604080
It's always been that way. To get good stuff you have to be in the scene.
>>
>>107604596
>never forget, if its free its shit.

sorry, that only counts for proprietary apps.
>>107605143
>do you have any advice?
>Faugus
Get Faugus Launcher, Flatpak is fine. You can install it via your AppStore. Just add your repack setup exe to Faugus and install your game. After the installation, just go to Faugus, remove the install.exe and replace it with your installed game exe. Done. If you want to use MangoHud (performance overlay) make sure to activate it in the faugus settings and install MangoHud via flatpak (flatpak install mangohud 21-25)
-
You can also add installers as non steam game or use bottles there are guides on youtube, but I'd just stick to Faugus, avoid Lutris for quacked games, it's outdated and the devs works on other projects now.
