I've only used Crux a little bit, but from the little experience I have I'd say Slackware is less work initially, as you don't have to compile your kernel during the installation. I ran into some packages in the ports tree that wouldn't sometimes too. It's been a pretty long time since I tried it, that's all I can really remember.

Python, one of the very few modern & popular programming languages not owned by big tech, is now begging hard for money at python.org (picrel), Wikipedia style.

This comes after the PSF rejected an US government grant because the PSF can't stop shilling for DEI: https://developers.slashdot.org/story/25/10/28/211237/python-foundation-rejects-government-grant-over-dei-restrictions
The same PSF then reported a surge of new donators following the above rejection: https://developers.slashdot.org/story/25/11/09/2017240/python-foundation-donations-surge-after-rejecting-grant---but-sponsorships-still-needed
Yet, they are now begging for money, using a big, intrusive and cringe banner at python.org, kek.

This is what your donated money is used for: https://www.python.org/psf/grants
>Conferences (e.g. PyCon Italia)
>Event site subscriptions (Meetup.com) (e.g. London Django Meetup)
>Django Girls Workshops (e.g. Django Girls Busan Workshop)
>PyLadies Workshops (e.g. All Day PyLadies Workshop)

These faggots have a whole page dedicated to their DEI philosophy: https://www.python.org/community/diversity
Their Libera Chat #python IRC channel is filled to the brim with trannies (they/them and she/her pronouns set as their IRC name).

Any version of Windows since 1995 has been more polished, production-ready and user-friendly than any Linux distro ever made. That's obvious to anybody who has installed both of them on the same machine.

Are Linux users just lying about their distros being a better experience than a Windows installation?

Windows definitely used to be better experience until W10. Then they made things worse and more complicated just so they can spy on people better. Modern Linux is definitely a better experience than modern Windows.
>>

I dont know why Linux gets all this hate honestly. I used Windows for nearly all my life, I switched to Linux 3 years ago and I never remotely felt the need to go back. I dont know.
Maybe I'm a special case, maybe everyone else is dumb, I fucking dont know. I just know that my computer simply works better under Linux for everything I do. I just dont understand why all this hate, I dont get it.

I would say that this is slightly too early, but everything from XP onwards is pretty much unkillable, since hardware back in the XP era became good enough that it can still browse the internet and do all sorts of basic tasks just fine. With Windows versions before that, you would have a hard time even browsing the internet. Regardless, you are right, linux trannies lie this much. Old windows versions are a healthier alternative to both new, enshittified windows and troonified troonix.
>>107625041
Linux provides even worse overall experience. Best you can do is use old windows versions and be fine.
>t. Still uses XP SP3

>missing feature from your DE, submit a bug report, get hit with "use case unclear"
>cry about it on dev's discord, get banned by a pedotroon for being le hekin evil chud
yeah, troonix is so much better

why are so many programming "help" groups like this? like, somebody will specifically opt into helping people, and then get frustrated when they dont do exactly what they expect. it constantly feels like im testing everyone's patience whenever i ask for help and its even harder trying to just learn everything myself, especially considering all the weird semantic differences in both the language itself and guides.

like i can imagine a full script in my head but i wouldnt know how to translate it into the language im currently using. and on the offchance that i *do* get the help needed, usually its just "oh just use the blah function", so its not like i just Dont Know How To Code or anything i just dont know the shit thats specific to the engine, and its not like i can just look it up in a glossary or something because the words can be totally different from language to language, like how "object" in one language can be "entity" in another, and object in *that* language refers to an object in an array or something, so theres just a huge language gap that i cant really cross without the help of others, which sucks because working with others sucks

You are a burden. You are incompetent and you display a passive aggressive attitude, blaming others for your idiocy. This is a very simple issue to solve.

If it's just about methods, go to the people that actually work that way already. You wouldn't go to a Rock guitarist to learn all about Jazz.

The problem is you. Always.

CPython is about 100x slower on average than Rust per Computer Language Benchmark Games
PyPy is about 2.8x faster on average than CPython per their own benchmarks, but whether this says anything about PyPy vs Rust is anyone's guess
PCIe max theoretical bandwidth is well documented but the (very few) benchmark results out there suggest you'll get around half in practice
I don't really know what modern engines do for vertices, I would expect something like float16 x/y/z/u/v and 2 u8s for compressed normals
If your mesh is a manifold with a reasonably low Euler characteristic you'll have about 2 vertices per triangle, and triangles are usually encoded as 3 u8s
You can do the math from there, like for an RTX 4090 (PCIe4 x16) you can maybe expect 15GB/s, so about 582Ktris/sec if my retard math is correct
But erm, this is all meaningless averages and it depends, ok sweetie?

get rid of all Linux userspace components and replace the whole thing with Wine. allocate 90% developer budget and manpower to improving Wine so that it works with all Windows apps. Then 10% developer budget on developing a pixel-perfect clone of the Windows Aero user interface components and other built-in applications such as Notepad and Paint.
Then stand back and appreciate Linux® JustWerks™ edition. Everyone will flock to it and Microsoft will go bankrupt.

The win32 api also sucks…

Desktop wise, the NextSTEP/Mac OS X have the best APi, so GNUSTEP is unironically a good sugestion by anon here >>107642862
>>
Something you will notice about Linux is that it could easily be fixed by a dedicated team of developers with the sole goal of creating a good desktop operating system, but nobody has attempted this as of yet. Why? Because every competent developer quickly abandons the idea (if it even comes to them in the first place) when they realise that windows is perfectly fine and any and all complaints about it are minor nitpicks

If you want an easy quick fix, you can go in the code, look for a part of the notification message and then append a ,3 (comma + 3) at the end of the message after the backtick. That should cause the warning to stay only for 3 seconds. The third argument in the function is the lifetime of the notification
