I am regularly amazed that we pretend folders are the right way to organise files. They’re entirely arbitrary. Every competent file system ignores them to its best ability. Why can’t I have a file in two folders? Why does one have to be a “reference”? Why can’t I filter for files that exist in 3 folders with X extension?

We’ve been played for absolute fools.

I like folders but Windows 11 + OneDrive at work gives me cancer. why the fuck do I have like 3 home documents directories? why does my source code get stored in the local one but my git projects automatically get synced and broken in onedrive? what the fuck is wrong with it all? why can't I just have one folder in documents or C:\ called source with all my projects in? why does changing the settings make Windows have a meltdown? cos it's FUCKING GAY.

Unc, (and I do not normally use that word even ironically but this is ONE TIME where it makes a whole fucking lot of sense), we've been saying this exact thing for YEARS and stuck up millennial fucks have been laughing at us. We can UNDERSTAND a tree hierarchy system if we have to, but smart organization systems work A WHOLE LOT BETTER.

Millennials seem to think we are "forced" to use it but let's be real; organizing things in an arbitrary tree when we have AI that can read and analyze entire fucking libraries in the fraction of a second is some really fucking special behavior.

There. I said it.

You can't relicence freely distributed works. Retards using these "licences" don't seem to understand that they're very much permanent, there's no clause that ends the agreement.

GPL means nothing, not only it's not enforceable but also if some GPLtards, like the kike RMS, don't like you, then your copyrights to GPL code mean nothing.
>>
>>107700488
The copyright act can't force people to be friends with you.
>>
>>107700625
I like how things in GPL depend on how faggots feel.
GPL is turning slowly into the cuck license:
>release your changes: we don't care
>copyright of your work: depends on your views
well, as far as the copyright act is concerned, rockchip didn't do anything wrong, they just got rid of those copyright comments.
>>
>>107697881

You can’t, because the code licensed through it is viral, so your new “relicensed” thing will have to be GPL (as it was built on top of GPL code).

Finished a little game using a custom engine and tools. Kind of me just fiddling around with Dear ImGui and C++.
Uses an animation format borrowed from another game, and I made a totally new version of the animation editor that game had.
This is just sort of a test project to help me get my feet wet and try the editor out.

not a techie but do you really design an app for the sake of designing an app? even when theres already an app that does the same thing. it should be about use case but youre always a solution searching for a problem

>The development comes a little over a year after the tech giant [Google] disclosed that its transition to Rust led to a decline in memory safety vulnerabilities from 223 in 2019 to less than 50 in 2024.

>The company pointed out that Rust code requires fewer revisions, necessitating about 20% fewer revisions than their C++ counterparts, and has contributed to a decreased rollback rate, thereby improving overall development throughput.

>We adopted Rust for its security and are seeing a 1000x reduction in memory safety vulnerability density compared to Android's C and C++ code. But the biggest surprise was Rust's impact on software delivery," Google's Jeff Vander Stoep said. "With Rust changes having a 4x lower rollback rate and spending 25% less time in code review, the safer path is now also the faster one

>With roughly 5 million lines of Rust in the Android platform and one potential memory safety vulnerability found (and fixed pre-release), our estimated vulnerability density for Rust is 0.2 vuln per 1 million lines (MLOC).

>Our historical data for C and C++ shows a density of closer to 1,000 memory safety vulnerabilities per MLOC. Our Rust code is currently tracking at a density orders of magnitude lower: a more than 1000x reduction.

I bought into /g/'s seething about Rust for years, thinking it was some bloated just-in-time dynamically typed meme language with runtime bloat, virtual machines, and multiple layers of tranny garbage collection and reference counting stuff to make it "safe".

Then I finally read about it and discovered it's a language which compiles into machine code like C/C++, and that it just has a strict compiler which doesn't allow programmers to create one of the most serious kinds of memory bugs. It literally won't compile if you try to shoot yourself in the foot.

And programmers seethe because "manual memory management" is something "they can do", except they fuck it up over and over. It's like insisting on working in a factory with exposed spinning knives "because I'm smart enough to not put my hand there" - except accidents happen.

The rest of the non-IT world has grown tired of your memory management fuckups, with zero day exploits and nation state attack vectors. Memory safe programming is becoming a mandate in some cases. The writing is on the wall, pointerchuds - Rust is the future.

I actuate my Blacks manually, one switch at a time. Squishing my forefinger down over and over again feels like poking at a hard yet pliable cockhead. The feeling is absolutely soul stirring and delightful, and I can't stop doing it while thinking of thick purple cockheads straining in my throat. I can actuate 220 times per minute so that's a good speed for doing it manually. lisp machines are a remnant of the past. they do not make any sense in the modern world because of glaring security issues. do you really want some smelly webjeet to be able to send code lisp code to your machine that gets ran as any program would? that being said emacs is as close as you can get to a modern lisp machine, and it can replace much of your computing if you want.
>>
>>107699518
>For example, how do you run multiple instances of the same program then?
Emacs Lisp provides thread and process abstractions.
https://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/manual/html_node/elisp/Threads.html
https://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/manual/html_node/elisp/Processes.html
Surely, a lisp machine could provide similar abstractions for running functions concurrently and asynchronously.
>>
>>107699965
The first part is not strictly true. While I agree I don’t want my web browser to be able to modify arbitrary code on my system, that’s also precisely the issue we had with Unix. But many bugs allowing unintended memory access wouldn’t have been possible on a Lisp machine, so the criticism cuts both ways. It’s too strong a claim to make that they don’t make sense at all.

Those who have gone from WOLED to QD-OLED or own both: Is this accurate?

Serviceable cpu and ram. Suggest getting a cheap aftermarket air cooler like the phantom spirit se so you can unlock power limit on the cpu; rocket lake really shines when not constrained by the dog shit intel stock cooler. Storage is a bit small obviously and you will need a better psu to install a gpu. RTX 5050 will make that a competent 1080p gaming machine.

it depends on the content. dmc5/re4r lets you switch between srgb & rec for example, srgb looks better on woled & ips.

Upload the file somewhere, preferably in a lossless format, and post the link here. If you want to update your track, make a new post.
Include the song title in the post, and make it clear that your song is a submission for the album.
Optionally you may include cover art for your track, but please confirm that the image in your post is the cover art or it won't be included. You may not use your real artist name.
Songs that contain anything against YouTube's policies won't be uploaded on YT, but will still be added to the album.
By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your track.
