I don't want to babysit a disposable monitor. I could buy a $1300 oled at the drop of a hat but I just refuse to either accept babysitting it or throw it away in 1-2 years.
Once microLED is attainable under $3000 im grabbing one.

I understand now why Lubuntu feels so familiar besides the superficial resemblances to older versions of Windows and OS/X in the programs and desktop. The whole Breeze theme makes it look like something straight out of Mirror's Edge during the later levels with all the blue and Adobe flash style icons.
>>107626610
It helps if you have a computer to use as a test subject so you don't feel like there's any sunken cost, Linux is actually way faster to setup than Windows in some ways so you don't need to feel much in the way of attachment at first. As for what happens later though in the event you break something, god help you if you are new.

Consumer demand will be lower than during COVID.
Also, RAM and SSDs are one thing, but there's no way we'll leave less GPU supply than during a during a time where we had extra demand due to lockdowns, less supply due to both Chinese factories lockdowns and general transport issues, and also a fucking buttcoin mining crisis.

I need a new laptop or fully-functional desktop computer with the idle wattage of a 7w lightbulb. What's on the market to accomplish this task?

My Intel Celeron N2940 (4) @ 2.249GHz seems to be far too slow to be able to properly keep up with loading some poorly coded modern webpages even on the lightest of browsers available to me. It was simply meant for another era.
