The main problem is that Gecko removed the ability to be independent from Firefox. All Firefox browsers are just body mods of the Firefox chassis, which gets out of date and gets cves and not enough engine features to pass anti-bot and user agent checks.

Until all the forks unite and make a common stand alone gecko you're just Firefox in drag.

Yes, you can accomplish those same features by other means, but I use them with lf because it's more comfortable to use for (me) and I've been doing it that way for years. If (you) prefer using a different method then good for you, having different options is cool. Again, I just prefer lf because for me it feels quicker to use, and you get more visual feedback compared to cd'ing your way into a certain directory.
