Holy crap this is retarded. When you mix everything together you end up with LESS genetic diversity. Which isn't even mentioning that 'diversity' can also be detrimental and unwanted when you're polluting good stock with bad stock. Surely he must know of useless joke dog breeds right?

And mixed race mutts also run into various health problems, like a basically deactivated immune system (just flush evolution bro), allergies, blood disorders, dental problems, higher risk of spinal deformities like scoliosis, organ donor problems and God knows what else.

I mean go for the girl you like, love is love, but being 'anti-racist' is just a self-report of being low IQ. Also at least let people know they're gonna need money for their mixed mutt's health care if they lose the coin toss. What a braindead retard.

dynamic character animations are impossible because the lighting info is stored into the model.
if you were talking about talking to IRL people, in that case the cost of turning the camera info into a streaming point cloud / splat format would be either too slow, or very low in quality.
I've seen it done in minecraft, that might be the future of VR chatrooms if we could download 1tb in an minute casually.
>>

The only convincing splats I've seen was the one one Zucc uses for his hyperscape demo on the quest and I don't think that supports animations yet.

You have 0 (ZERO) seconds to explain why you use Windows.
There is literally no excuse

GNU/Linux has a great selection of games, if you spend the majority of your time gaming, you are a child.
>b-b-but muh video/photo editing
There are excellent FOSS alternatives available. I know you're going to defend your proprietary garbage like goyshop because it has a few extra features, maybe if you cared enough you'd implement those features into the FOSS alternatives instead of giving up your freedom for the sake of convenience.

/hsg/ is about learning and expanding your horizons. Know all about NAS? Learn virtualization. Spun up some VMs? Learn about networking by standing up a OPNsense/PFsense box and configuring some VLANs. There's always more to learn and chances to grow. Think you’re god-tier already? Setup OpenStack and report back.

>What software should I run?
Install Gentoo. Or whatever flavor of *nix is best for the job or most comfy for you. Jellyfin/Emby/Plex to replace Netflix, Nextcloud to replace Googlel, Ampache/Navidrome to replace Spotify, the list goes on. Look at the awesome self-hosted list and ask.

>Why should I have a home server?
De-botnet your life. Learn something new. Serving applications to yourself, your family, and your frens feels good. Put your tech skills to good use for yourself and those close to you. Store their data with proper availability redundancy and backups and serve it back to them with a /comfy/ easy to use interface.

I think youtube embeds ads into the stream. For my roku TV's I enabled developer mode and added Playlet but i think its since been approved and added to the Roku app/channel store page so this work-around isn't necessary
With playlet you can watch youtube without ads

I've found thad AdGuardHome blocks ads that show up in phone apps. I don't block external DNS requests, but simply making my local AdGuardHome ip as the primary authoritative DNS server was enough for me
>>
>>107700976
No shit using a decent provider helps. This is still possible and using things like mxtoolbox.com to check reputation and there the important lists should all have automated forms to clean things up assuming you do all the meme stuff (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)

>>107700982
>Email is bad and lacks privacy
Looking at the state of TLS adoption for mail server is kinda hilarious/terrifying and running the kind of opportunistic encryption that ignores 95% of sanity checks just to get some semblance of TLS is pretty much best practice.
A lot of providers don't even attempt to TLS, even when the receiver is properly set up.

My main goals wasn't really privacy, more like
>doing it because it can be done
>firstname@lastname.tld is cool
Also, full control allows for constructs like setting up catch-all aliases, so you basically have unlimited addresses.
Meaning you can use unique mails for every single account you create somewhere. And if you start getting spam,
it becomes very clear who snitched your data. And then gets bounced/blackholed.
>>
>>107701087
>where do you store backups?
Depends.
Things I've downloaded off the internet and won't care if I lose it in a house fire? In another machine in my basement.
If it's things that I can't replace like family photos and videos? I have multiple copies. One in my main storage server. One in my backup storage server in my basement. Another digital copy in my siblings' place burned to CDs. And the original physical copies in my parent's house or my siblings, depends on who took the originals.
If it's really important things like birth certificates or the deed to the land or citizenship papers? Digital copy in my main server. Second digital copy in my backup server in my basement. Third digital copy and a physical copy in my siblings' and parent's house. And lastly the physical originals in a safety deposit box in my bank.

I have multiple backups of important things. I'm more lazy about things I download off the internet. My thinking is if I lose it because of a house fire I would have a bigger issue to deal with than some lost games or movies. But I still want to have a backup that if it does get corrupted I don't have to go looking for it, which is why I only have one backup.
>>
>>107701183
I think having a 10 year reputation is probably more than a /hsg/ anon is going to have to start a mail server. It's not wrong to say they won't be able to send, this is /hsg/ not pay for a pro VPS and build your email rep for a decade.
Just pay for email service if that's what you want, you still get your aliases@lastname@tld
it's not a skill issue, it's by design.

Im considering building a streambox (either plex or jellyfin) that needs to be boomer simple and stream to a chromecast

i want to try to make a ''tryout'' server first out of an older core2duo system to see how i'd like it

as long as i can stream in 720p i'll consider it a win

>Specs
>snail 2 duo 1.86ghz
>6gb ram
>gt430
>80gbb os hdd and 1tb hdd for starge

is it viable enough to try?

New version is out.

Also, why was my previous thread deleted? This is a software-based application explicitly engineered for operation within the computational and telecommunications framework of a handheld mobile device, ok? It is therefore unambiguously situated within the broader domain of contemporary technological systems, infrastructures, and applied digital sciences, and as such relevant to /g/.

It isn't just Jeets, but think about it.
You work at a company that you thought was your dream job. All the old guard are either retired, semi-retired, or just don't care. Corporate suits keep barking orders without understanding how shit is made, just glorified marketers answering to shareholder demans. Shareholders which also don't know how any of this shit works. You are worked like a dog, face layoffs at the drop of a hat (once again to shareholder whims), and are living in a location that makes your six digit salary effectively pointless.
Do you care enough to make a good product under those circumstances?
