You can actually install a torrent client inside a-shell or one of the other linux environments on the store via pip3. Far better solution because sideloading is so bad on iOS its not even funny. I had sidestore using my mac and everything but still randomly the pairing file will mess up and you need to redo half the process by connecting to your computer before certs run out. If they run out all your apps lose their data. Sideloading on iOS is pure stress and filled with lying shills like you

Final Christmas shill!

My entry to the Secret Santa exchange, for venustraphilia!

The Princess Esmé Arianne DeLaFongé is space royalty, and you are her dear (female) cousin. As royal cousins do, you are engaged in an informal relationship! One that Esmé both loves and hates at the same time. Play golf (on a space station), do futuristic drugs, be gay, the wealth of the galaxy is at your disposal! …As long as your superior cousin allows the expense, of course.

Greetings:

The trump admin as specifically fucked corporations with tarriffs. All but the very top end of tech companies have cooled in profits and income.
It's why the job market is said to be so fucked at the moment for low impact office jobs.

Profitability and stock values must be maintained for corporations to be friendly with hiring office and middle management jobs. Demoshits know this and is why so much money fuckery went on during the pandemic.

Got these as a christmas gift, they somehow make the outside world sounds more sibilant and its annoying me quite a bit.

Sound is also pretty mid, you can tell they went extra bass but the treble is not very smooth at all, it's not piercing but it's not very good. S sounds on speaking voices are the worst thing about them though, so not great for podcasts.

I don't use Plex myself but someone at my office uses it to stream movies from his home server to the office TV.

I think Plex is trying to make people pay for connecting two Plex instances together but you can stream for free from any mounted folder which they call "LAN" but there is no reason this can't just be folder mounted over the internet.

Probably not. Maybe Cachy, but hyper-optimized distros haven't had staying power historically.

You can identify real distros immediately because they create a new niche, like Nix, or have a big organization behind them which isn't going away.

>Why are you watching movies streamed remotely though? Do you have some sort of wireless speaker setup?
Good question.
I have HTPC connected to 4K TV, which is nice to watch stuff on it.
But I usually watch things while I'm using my laptop which I use it to control the HTPC with SSH/Deskflow, I want the audio to be streamed to the laptop so I can hear with the headset i've connected to the laptop instead of the TV speaker.
Why? because I watch movies/TV series while doing programing and I don't want to bother other people with the sound.
>>
>>107673659
Why not just use wireless headphones then, or connect a physical cable between audio-out on the HTPC and audio in / microphone on the laptop.

I do that sometimes when I want to game on consoles and have the audio routed to my computer. You can also get HDMI audio extractors (better audio quality), etc, if you want to get really fancy with it.

>connect a physical cable between audio-out on the HTPC and audio in / microphone on the laptop
Then I'd be limited with where I can sit or won't be able to move around.
I don't need anything fancy really, just streaming audio from one machine to another for a period of time and revert to default behavior after I finish
>>
>>107673743
>Then I'd be limited with where I can sit or won't be able to move around.
So unplug it and get up and move your fat ass. If you move you won't see/hear the TV anyway. You'd probably be better off just putting the video on in another window in the background on the laptop if you barely watch it anyway.

We can hope so.
Humanity is going to have to learn to adapt to the present state of the actual world rather than cater to theoretical mind crimes written for situations of the past.

Copying an idea and spreading it worldwide is easy to do today thanks to technology, and we should be trying to share good ideas with each other to create the maximally best things we can for the mutual benefit of us all. Not to lock ideas behind single individuals for multiple generations of life, to the detriment of everyone else, and sometimes even to the detriment of the idea and individuals themselves.

In any case I'm not worried about it. Simply put you can not stop progress.
As the technology makes it easier to distribute, these concepts of hoarding ideas erodes organically, irrelevant of changes to law or society. As exemplified, artists are always trying to publish books they don't actually want anyone to read, and yet people find a way to anyway. It's a wonder why they even publish them in the first place if they hate sharing.
>>
>>107669496
>this is objectively violating the copyright of millions of artists
Not necessarily. The specific methods used in training models potentially, or where training data is acquired in some cases. You can't say all forms of data analysis on images freely viewable violate copyright. Some outputs can obviously.

I don't mind open-source software, sometimes it can be pretty good, especially when it comes to gray area stuff like piracy or modding vidya. It's just that my sort of take on the whole thing is that foss projects are great if they're very focused, minimal, and made for a single purpose by a small team of devs or even a singular dev that knows what he's doing. The moment you get into huge programs like OS, Web Browser, Creative Suites, etc. you are guaranteed to get the sloppiest unorganized buggy slop if it's fully FOSS. I like stuff like 7-Zip, MO2, etc. And use a DP cable, as well as uBlock Origin Lite. I just have fatigue with open source being touted as always better when it's just not, Firefox and mainstream linux distros that I tried like Ubuntu or Fedora are absolute dogshit with tons of issues. I'm also a hyper contrarian and bullheaded so when someone tries to convince me to use something like stuff shilled on /g/ or reddit, I intentionally go on the far end and start shilling for sloppiest of slop like AI or Edge.

Look into using steamcmd, and drop it in your existing steam folder or symlink the library folder to your existing steam library folder tree structure.
I'm at work so I am blanking out on everything until I get home. You basically run steamcmd, login (with account I forgot if you can do anonymously) and use app_update (###) validate to make sure it's the latest. Sadly that's the most legit way but if your pirated shit is older rev who knows what might occur.

I use QubesOS with detached boot partition on 2 duplicated USB drives with any data that rests on the SSD/HDDs being encrypted with LUKS2. Whonix gateway is proxied through a VPN qube to hide Tor IPs (can't hide communication patterns) without bridges since bridge IPs can be farmed. Sometimes Tor through I2P outproxy or vice-versa or with different anonymizing network overlays. Clients used for browsing are only opened in on-RAM ephemeral qubes with no access to permanent storage. Attack surface is quite minimum since no extra things added like USB mouse and no PV qubes (aside from sys-usb and sys-net) are used for launching HVM qubes with qemu stub domains unless very necessary and every other qube on the system gets shut down first to keep information leakage minimum. A veracrypt volume with hidden storage on a permanent qube for data storage and plausible deniability.

what's your setup like?

cont.

like many cases of AV softwares being exploited to gain system level privileges and Kaspersky's self protection module requiring exclusive access to Hyper-V, forcing you to disable VBS mechanisms. So I wouldn't recommend anyone to use an AV on Windows unless it's a PC that will be used by a person who will download and run many untrusted code. Also Microsoft Defender exists with its advanced settings being hidden under group policy settings like increased cloud protection levels, ASR, Block at First Site and etc. Though I remember Defender being relatively heavy on disk/IO on HDDs in the past.
