if they spent it legitimately then they spent it legitimately. they would have had a YC advisor telling them unofficial limits of salary, comp and benefits and what crosses a line.
the goal is always more investment, so you won't get more if you spend this round illegitimately if yC are involved.

This simple idea of having 2 USB-C ports CANNOT be done because it stops the zoomer from buying wireless ear buds(battery inside will always go to shit and unusable in ~3 years)

and you would be stuck using extremely affordable, high quality audio headphones or in ear buds(that are a bit too green for the planet in 2026)

also the 3.5mm headphone jack looks like a penis that goes inside a hole and basically why aren't you a wireless, constantly charging gay trans in 2026 right now.

am i finally getting it /g?

Vertical video is the norm now. All video is vertical now. People actively wish horizontal videos were vertical. They yearn for vertical video even when they're not circumstantially limited to it. A kid asked me to hold his phone and film him doing a trick at a skate park last week and when I held it in landscape mode he stopped me, took the phone, changed it to portrait and continued. Ten years ago vertical video was considered digital AIDS. It was to be avoided at all cost. Now it's the golden standard.

The progression of technology does not always make things better. 15 years ago people were passing the time by watching movies and TV shows that had to be produced and greenlit by people whose jobs were to gamble on what audiences would want to see most. There was no other way to make a film or television broadcast. Maybe there was public access television but it was never the best material available meaning it never did well. All in all, film and television was heavily gatekept by tastemakers. Even the absolute trash that got produced back then was better than what most people waste time on now, because now there's YouTube.
Anyone can upload anything to YouTube at any time for any reason from anywhere. Meaning you no longer need the permission of middlemen to reach your audience. You just make shit and put it out. Thing is, audiences aren't very discerning so the bar for quality is clipping through the bottom of Hell. Some of the most viewed videos on YouTube right now are nonsensical AI generated slop. Millions of people who would've been watching maybe Jackass 15 years ago are now spending their time watching videos wherein a robotic voice narrates a script clearly generated by ChatGPT that is full of inaccuracies and outright lies, and that's just normal now. The technology has improved but the standards have fallen as a result.

It's only going to get worse.

same size as my samsung aka. worst of both worlds
>too small for comfy video watching, gaming, reading manga
>too big to use onehanded at all times, finger can't reach top of the screen without "the shuffle" where it's easy to drop
never again, my next phone will either be 5.4 or 6.9 inches, so 6.9 inches because small phones aren't real
I know it might seem weird to only want each of the extremes, but think about it, a 6.1 inch phone sucks as being portable and sucks at being a huge-battery-media-device. At least with an Ultra or Pro Max tier phone I can have all day battery and can watch videos really bigly.

I have been converted.

After going through so much bullshit to get Windows 11 configured the way I want it, I experimented with Linux Mint on an external hard drive and I have to say it’s been amazing. I think we have finally hit an inflection point where the effort to install, customize and use Linux Mint is now less than installing Windows 11 IoT LTSC and running the debloating scripts/reinstalling default apps, and it’s a better experience.

Open source software has also matured to the point that I have found sufficient alternatives for ALL of my windows programs including Paint.NET with the recent Pinta update.

Once I customize the look and feel of Cinnamon/Firefox a bit more I will probably be switching to Linux full time. After years of retarded bugs, obvious features not being implemented, dogshit communities, etc. I think Linux finally made it.

>linux is unusable without them
I barely use them. You're probably trying to do things in some retarded ass backwards way rather than learning how to actually use linux.

Using a package manager is generally easier than the windows random .exe lottery, but it is different and requires re-learning the way you do things.
>>
>>107849495
flatpaks just ship the system libraries with them, retard. though then so do many windows software packages (which is why to run one .exe you need 200 .dlls)

Any time you run an exe that doesn't ship with a bunch of dlls it's using system libraries just like on linux.
>>
>>107848705
flatpaks and AppImage are a godsend
>>
>>107848705
I only use flatpaks when I absolutely have to.
And honestly, there are a few I'd get rid of if doing so weren't such a massive pain in the ass.

How come C# isn't more popular when it's basically Java but better? Is it because people distrust a language maintained by Microsoft, or does the JVM have non-obvious but crucial advantages over the CLR?

In evolutionary terms, a "Pleasure Trap" occurs when the organism is exposed to "supernormal stimuli" (highly concentrated sources of pleasure) that did not exist during evolutionary development.
For millions of years, calories and dopamine-spiking resources were scarce, evolution favored the
>"Motivator Triad":
Seek pleasure (food and sex). Avoid pain. Conserve energy.
An ancestor who found a rare honeycomb would gorge on it because those calories were vital for survival. Today, we have engineered substances (processed sugar, high-fructose corn syrup, digital entertainment, drugs) that provide a dopamine hit far more intense than anything found in nature. Your brain cannot distinguish between a natural reward and a concentrated modern one. It treats the "supernormal stimulus" as a survival signal. Over time, the brain down-regulates its receptors to protect itself, meaning you need more of the substance just to feel "normal," leading to obesity or addiction.
Apply the same principle to social interaction.
>>
>>107849894
Interesting! I suppose evolution essentially "locks in" a strategy that works for the present moment but because it cannot see far into the future it can easily create a dead end where the organism is too "successful" to innovate, making it prime for extinction if the environment changes significantly.
>>
>>107849894
>>107849906
Our hardware (brains) is still running "software" designed for a world of scarcity and slow change while our current world is defined by hyper-abundance and rapid volatility.
